  • Publication number: 20060045435
Abstract: An optical receptacle with low transmission loss, which is connectable with an optical plug, is provided. The optical receptacle includes a photoelectric conversion module having the capability of making photoelectric conversion between light signals and electrical signals, and a module housing. The photoelectric conversion module is a molded interconnect device (MID), which is provided with a module body having a post, an optical device mounted on the post, and an electrical circuit mounted on the module body. The module housing has a tubular projection, into which an end of the optical fiber supported by the optical plug can be inserted. When the optical plug is connected with an optical receptacle, the end of the optical fiber is positioned in the tubular projection so as to be in a closely opposing relation to the optical device mounted on the post.

  • Publication number: 20050169255
Abstract: A broadband data broadcast system that allows rich multimedia content to be delivered to a plurality of subscribers is disclosed. The broadband data broadcast system operates by multiplexing a plurality of rich multimedia digital information streams together at a centralized data broadcast center. The data broadcast center then broadcasts the multiplexed digital information stream on a broadcast medium such as satellite broadcasts, radio frequency broadcasts, or digital television broadcasts. A large number of receiver systems receive the broadcast signal and demodulate the broadcast signal to retrieve the multiplexed digital stream. The receiver system extracts a subset of digital information streams that the particular receiver system's owner has designated are of interest. The receiver system caches the interesting digital information stream for later access. The receiver system outputs the interesting digital information streams to a client system upon demand.

  • Publication number: 20050156696
Abstract: This micro relay comprises a body 1, a cover 4, an armature block 3. The body 1, which is made of silicon or glass, has an electromagnetic mechanism 2. The cover 4 is also made of silicon or glass. The armature block 3 is made of silicon. The armature block 3 is composed of an armature base 30 and a frame 31. The frame 31 surrounds an entire circumference of the armature base 30 and supports the armature base 30 pivotally. The armature base 30 is cooperative with a magnetic material 32 on a surface of the armature base 30 to define an armature 300. A fixed contacts 14A, 14B, 15A, 15B and movable contacts 33A, 33B are selectively closed and opened by a pivot motion of the armature 300. And, the frame 31 is directly bonded over its entire circumference to a periphery 19 of the body 1 and to a periphery 41 of the cover 4 to define a sealed space surrounded by the frame 31 and closed between the body 1 and the cover 4 for accommodating the armature 300 and the fixed contacts and the movable contacts.

  • Patent number: 6700466
Abstract: A contact apparatus is provided having a permanent magnet disposed in a region where a fixing contact point is mounted to a fixing contact and a movable contact to which a movable contact point is mounted. An arc generated between both the contact points is moved in a lateral direction by the magnetic force of the permanent magnet and stretched. An arc-extinguishing member which is heated by the arc for generating arc-extinguishing gas is provided such as to surround the fixing contact point and the movable contact point.

  • Patent number: 6526471
Abstract: A high speed memory system is disclosed. The high speed memory system remembers the active n memory rows for n banks of memory. When a memory access request for a memory address that falls within one of the active memory rows is received, the memory controller immediately responds to the memory access request. When a memory access request for a memory address that does not fall within one of the active memory rows is received, the memory controller immediately precharges and activates the desired memory address. For read operations, the memory controller responds with the data from the requested memory address after the memory has been precharged. For memory write operations, the memory controller forces the processor to halt the memory write request such that the memory controller will prepare itself by, precharging and activating the desired memory row. When the processor reissues the request, the memory controller will be prepared to immediately process the write request.

  • Patent number: 6473858
Abstract: A data broadcasting system is disclosed. The data broadcasting system operates by receiving source material from a number of different sources. The source material is processed by performing adding error correction encoding and in some cases, encryption. The source material from the different sources is then multiplexed together and broadcast on a broadcast medium. The multiplexed digital broadcast is received by a plurality of receiver systems. The receiver systems demultiplex the multiplexed digital stream to obtain desired digital streams. The desired streams are then decrypted if necessary.

  • Patent number: 5712608
Abstract: A matrix relay is formed with a plurality of latching relays arranged in a matrix and mounted on a base of an electrically insulative material. Each of the latching relays comprises an excitation coil, permanent magnet, a pair of first and second fixed contacts, and an armature carrying a pair of first and second movable springs each providing movable contacts. The armature is magnetically coupled to the excitation coil so as to be movable in response to energization of the coil by current of selective polarity between close and open positions of the fixed and movable contacts. A plurality of the armatures of the latching relays arranged in a row of the matrix are assembled into a single armature block to be mounted on the base as a single unit. The armature block comprises a single pair of first and second supporting members made of an electrically conductive material.

  • Patent number: 4827408
Abstract: In a computer system, different portions of the systems of different specifications are incorporated in a detachable LSI or IC card. When the LSI or IC card is exchanged solely or together with software, the systems of the different specifications can be constituted by a single hardware system. Compatibility with conventional equipment can be established without incorporating the software for special-purpose equipment into new software.
