Patent number: 6749208Abstract: A platter cart has a wheeled base and at least one vertical support extending upwardly from each side of the base at a location spaced between the front and rear end of the base. A series of front shelves are secured to extend forwardly from the supports at spaced intervals, and a series of horizontal rear shelves are secured to extend rearwardly from the supports at spaced intervals. Each rear shelf is vertically offset from the front shelves, so that two platter carts can be nested together by pushing a rearward cart into the end of a front cart with the front shelves of the rearward cart nesting into the spaces between the rear shelves of the front cart.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 2002Date of Patent: June 15, 2004Assignee: Precision Wire Racks and Carts, Inc.Inventors: Miguel J. Publication number: 20040065630Abstract: A product feed apparatus for feeding a row of products towards the front edge of a shelf has an elongate track mounted on the shelf so as to extend from a rear edge to the front edge of the shelf. A pusher member is slidably mounted in the track for engaging the rearmost product of a row of products supported on the track, and a biasing mechanism biases the pusher member towards the front edge of the track so as to advance product to the front edge of the shelf. The biasing mechanism includes a plurality of identical elongate, resilient biasing elements which can be releasably secured between the front end of the pusher member and the track so as to move the pusher member along the track. The user selects the number of biasing elements to be used based on the size and weight of product to be advanced.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 3, 2002Publication date: April 8, 2004Inventor: V. Publication number: 20040065632Abstract: A shelf assembly incorporates a divider apparatus for separating products on a shelf into adjacent rows. The shelf is formed from a series of spaced longitudinal wires and underlying, spaced support members extending transversely across the wires between opposite sides of the shelf. The divider apparatus has a plurality of divider panels each extending between the front and rear ends of the shelf at spaced intervals, each divider panel having an upper edge and a lower edge. The lower edge of each divider panel extends downwardly through the shelf through a gap between a selected adjacent pair of wires, and has notches to engage over the support members.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 3, 2002Publication date: April 8, 2004Inventor: V. Patent number: 6688240Abstract: A shelving system includes a plurality of shelves each having spaced front and rear hooks projecting from each side edge, each rear hook being spaced forwardly from the rear edge of the shelf, and a support framework for adjustably supporting the shelves at spaced intervals. The framework has a pair of support posts located on each side of the shelves, each pair of support posts comprising a front support post located adjacent the front hooks of the shelves and a rear support post located adjacent the rear hooks of the shelves. Each support post has a series of vertically spaced openings for receiving the shelf hooks. The posts are positioned so they are much less vulnerable to damage, and can be made out of light material with an open configuration. Brackets attach to the shelf to allow the easy addition of useful accessories to the standard shelf.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 2002Date of Patent: February 10, 2004Inventor: V. John Ondrasik

Publication number: 20030029823Abstract: A shelf support assembly is provided having a shelf post and a post support. The post support contacts an end of the shelf post and limits movement of the shelf post wall from at least two directions, such as from the bottom and from the side. An adjustment element such as a threaded bolt is movable relative to the post support for adjusting the position of the shelf post relative to an underlying surface. In another embodiment, a post support is provided with a body having an extended support surface for supporting an extended surface on a shelf post. The extended support surface can also include a side surface for supporting a wall of the shelf post from the side.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 9, 2001Publication date: February 13, 2003Inventors: Jeffery Nicholson, David Baugh, John Nazarian, V. Patent number: 6260863Abstract: A nestable lumber cart has a wheeled base having a front end, a rear end, and opposite sides, the sides of the base tapering outwardly from the front end to the rear end of the cart, an outer side wall extending along at least part of the length of each side from the rear end of the base, and a pair of spaced inner side walls extending along at least part of the base from the rear end of the cart and spaced inwardly from the respective outer side wall. The inner side walls define a central channel for supporting flat panels in an upright orientation, and each inner side wall and adjacent outer side wall defines a side channel on a respective side of the central channel for supporting beams. Each side wall has an outward taper matching that of the base sides from the front to the rear end of the cart. The base of the cart is designed to permit nesting so that the front end of one cart can nest into the rear end of another cart.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 1999Date of Patent: July 17, 2001Inventors: Miguel J. Patent number: 6203035Abstract: A platter cart for carrying a plurality of loaded trays has an upwardly extending, wheeled support frame and a plurality of spaced horizontal shelves secured between the opposite sides of the frame. Each shelf comprises a bar extending between the sides of the frame and formed into a serpentine configuration including at least a central portion of generally W-shape, the serpentine configuration having a central axis of symmetry aligned with the central axis of the frame. The sides of the cart are generally tapered inwardly from the rear to the front end of the frame, and the frame is open at its rear end so that carts can be nested together with the W-shaped shelves and tapered sides interfitting for nesting purposes.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 1998Date of Patent: March 20, 2001Inventor: V. John Ondrasik
