Abstract: A shopping cart has a wheeled base, a frame projecting upwardly from the base, and a basket having a rear end secured to the frame and projecting forwardly from the frame. The basket has a front wall with a pair of leg openings, and a back support member is adjustably mounted in the basket for movement between a first position against the inside of the front wall to close the leg openings, and a second position spaced rearwardly from the front wall to provide a back support for a child seated in the front end of the cart with the child's legs extending through the leg openings.

Abstract: A shopping cart has a wheeled frame and a basket secured to the frame for carrying groceries or other items to be purchased. A pair of reinforcing rails runs along the top of the basket, the rails being welded on the respective inner and outer sides of the side and front end walls to leave a small gap between the rails. At least one of the rails has identifying or security indicia stamped at spaced intervals along its length on its innermost face which faces the opposing rail. The small gap between the rails makes it very difficult to remove or obliterate the indicia without dismantling the rails from the cart.

A bottom outside horizontal ring makes smooth the bottom corners of the basket. Bumper strips are mountable on top the terminuses of the vertical struts.

A raised collapsible pocket inside the basket has as its front wall a panel moveable between an open position tilted away from the rear gate and a collapsed position flat against the rear gate. Abstract: A basket suitable for stacking and nesting with like baskets comprising a substantially rectangular shaped frame having arches affixed to both edges of the frame and extending above and below the frame, a gripper bar affixed near, and extending across, the feet of the arches for stacking the baskets, and support bars spanning the width of the frame uplifted at one end and affixed thereto at both sides thereby defining the bottom.
