  • Patent number: 11812277
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for silencing signal transmissions by a user equipment (UE). Silencing signals may be transmitted periodically during shared spectrum downlink communications from a serving base station to the UE to prevent an interfering node from passing a listen before talk (LBT) procedure. The silencing signal transmissions may be configured by the base station and enabled in cases where potential interfering nodes are detected. An interfering node may be notified that silencing signals are being used, and may adjust a periodicity or wait time of its LBT procedures based on the silencing signal periodicity.

  • Patent number: 11800559
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a grant scheduling an acknowledgement feedback transmission for the grant. The UE may identify, based at least in part on a first timing associated with the grant, a second timing associated with the acknowledgment feedback transmission, or a combination thereof, a duration for a channel clearance procedure to be performed before transmitting the acknowledgement feedback transmission. The UE may perform the channel clearance procedure using the identified duration. The UE may transmit the acknowledgement feedback transmission based at least in part on a result of the channel clearance procedure.

  • Publication number: 20230328786
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a grant including information for triggering a clear channel assessment based sounding reference signal (SRS) transmission. The UE may perform the clear channel assessment for a channel based at least in part on receiving the grant. The UE may transmit, to the base station, the SRS that initiates a shared channel occupancy time (COT) on the channel based at least in part on performing the clear channel assessment. Numerous other aspects are provided.

  • Patent number: 11770221
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for time domain single carrier (SC) waveform communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may generate an SC waveform by resampling (e.g., up-sampling) mapped information bits prior to insertion of a cyclic prefix (CP) or guard interval (GI). Performing resampling prior to CP/GI insertion allows for resource allocation flexibility and a base station may allocate resources for the SC waveform in accordance with this flexibility. For example, a base station may not be limited or restricted to a certain number of resources for SC waveform communications and may therefore determine a resource allocation for the UE based on the capability of the UE to perform resampling prior to CP/GI insertion. The resampling may be performed according to a set of parameters including a resampling ratio, which may be indicated to the UE via control signaling (e.g., from the base station).

  • Publication number: 20230300878
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) and a network entity may support a control mechanism according to which the UE determines whether an upgrade from a first channel access type to a second channel access type is available for an uplink transmission from the UE to the network entity. For example, the network entity may configure the UE with a set of channel access types and the UE may determine whether the second channel access type is available for the uplink transmission based on which channel access types are present in the set of channel access types. As such, the UE may upgrade from the first channel access type to the second channel access type if the second channel access type is present in the set of channel access types.

  • Patent number: 11764855
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for managing beam selection. In one aspect, an initiating wireless device may determine whether a pre-grant acknowledgement associated with a first beam has been received from a responding wireless device within an expected receive time. The initiating wireless device may generate an indication to prevent the initiating wireless device from using the first beam for a blocking duration in response to determining that the pre-grant acknowledgement associated with the first beam has not been received within the expected receive time.

  • Patent number: 11751073
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, wireless devices operating in an unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band may perform directional listen-before-talk (LBT) procedures to gain access to a channel. In a beam-shrinking scheme for directional LBT, a wireless device may start an LBT procedure using a first beam (e.g., a wide beam). If the clear channel assessment (CCA) fails for the first beam (e.g., due to directional interference), the device may switch the LBT procedure to a second beam (e.g., a narrower beam). Depending on the direction of the interference source, the second beam may result in a successful LBT procedure. In a beam sweeping scheme for directional LBT, a wireless device may perform concurrent LBT over multiple narrow beams. If any beam of the set of beams detects frequent or continuous interference, the device may drop that beam from the concurrent LBT procedure.

  • Publication number: 20230276497
Abstract: A node configured for communication in a wireless communication network transmits, following a listen before talk process, at least one transmission within an operating channel bandwidth in response to a sensed energy in the operating channel being less than both a first energy detection threshold (EDT) value determined as a function of the channel bandwidth, and a second predetermined EDT value obtained from the node. The first EDT value is determined as the function of the channel bandwidth and further as a function of a ratio of a maximum transmitter power to an intended transmitter power, the intended power transmitter power being less than or equal to the maximum power. When the intended and maximum powers are equal, the first EDT value is determined only as the function of the channel bandwidth. The second energy detection threshold value may be determined as a function of a reference channel bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 11742990
Abstract: The present disclosure discloses apparatuses, systems, and methods of wireless communication that use an adaptive hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) procedure and a multi-threaded HARQ procedure for improving HARQ buffer utilization and management. A user equipment (UE) can transmit a reset NACK to reduce the amount of HARQ buffers needed for concurrent HARQ processes. A base station can transmit different redundancy data in a HARQ retransmission depending on the types of NACK the UE transmitted. The base station can communicate with the UE using multiple light HARQ processes or threads that use less HARQ buffers than a typical HARQ procedure. Other aspects, features, and embodiments are also claimed and described.

  • Patent number: 11716755
Abstract: Aspects are provided that allow a base station to provide a user equipment (UE) multiple timing opportunities to transmit an acknowledgment to a pre-grant (APG) after receiving a pre-grant for a downlink transmission. The base station transmits to the UE a pre-grant for a downlink transmission from the base station, the pre-grant triggering a plurality of timing opportunities for the UE to send an APG to the base station. The UE performs, after receiving the pre-grant, a clear channel assessment (CCA) during at least one timing opportunity of the plurality of timing opportunities. The UE transmits one or more APGs to the base station when the CCA is successful, and the UE receives the downlink transmission from the base station in response to the one or more APGs. The UE transmits the one or more APGs to the base station until the downlink transmission is received from the base station.

  • Patent number: 11696327
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a transmitting device using shared radio frequency spectrum may perform a listen before talk (LBT) procedure for at least a minimum dwell time and, upon successful completion of the LBT procedure, may occupy the spectrum for up to a duration of a channel occupancy time (COT). The transmitting device may discontinue transmitting during the COT for a gap period, and resume transmitting subsequent to the gap period without performing another LBT procedure.
