The backup manager obtains a backup generation request for the application service group that includes virtual machines, and each of the virtual machines uses a copy of the virtual machine data; in response to obtaining the backup generation request: identifies a first virtual machine the virtual machines that is prioritized for generating a backup for the application service group based on the service group list; attempts to generate the backup using the first virtual machine and the copy of the virtual machine data; and stores the backup in backup storage.

Abstract: A method of identifying land cover includes receiving multi-spectral values for a plurality of locations at a plurality of times. A location is selected and for each time in the plurality of times, a latent representation of the multi-spectral values is determined based on a latent representation of multi-spectral values determined for a previous time and multi-spectral values for the previous time of a plurality of other locations that are near the selected location. The determined latent representation is then used to predict a land cover for the selected location at the time.

Abstract: A method for implementing indirect GTP firewall filtering includes using a signaling message routing node to dynamically populate an indirect GTP-C firewall filtering database with IMSIs and VPLMN IDs extracted from mobility management signaling messages for updating the locations of outbound roaming subscribers. The method further includes receiving a CCR-I message generated in response to a GTP-C message. The method further includes extracting an IMSI and a VPLMN ID from the CCR-I message. The method further includes accessing the indirect GTP-C firewall filtering database using the IMSI extracted from the CCR-I message. The method further includes determining that a record corresponding to the IMSI is present in the indirect GTP-C firewall filtering database. The method further includes determining that a VPLMN ID in the record does not match the VPLMN ID extracted from the CCR-I message.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to determining whether to take a resource distribution unit (RDU) of a datacenter offline when the RDU becomes faulty. RDUs in a cloud or datacenter supply a resource such as power, network connectivity, and the like to respective sets of hosts that provide computing resources to tenant units such as virtual machines (VMs). When an RDU becomes faulty some of the hosts that it supplies may continue to function and others may become unavailable for various reasons. This can make a decision of whether to take the RDU offline for repair difficult, since in some situations countervailing requirements of the datacenter may be at odds. To decide whether to take an RDU offline, the potential impact on availability of tenant VMs, unused capacity of the datacenter, a number or ratio of unavailable hosts on the RDU, and other factors may be considered to make a balanced decision.
