    Abstract: In a fuel injection system for an internal combustion engine with a high pressure pump for supplying pressurized fuel to fuel injection valves and a multi-way valve disposed in the high pressure fuel line to the fuel injector for controlling the fuel flow to the injector, the multi-way valve is a spool valve which includes an actuator for positioning the spool to provide selectively a flow connection between the high pressure pump and the injection valve or between the injection valve and a fuel return line and which further includes an inflow throttle structure forming a pressure control device. A pressure sensor is arranged between the spool valve and the fuel injector and supplies the sensed pressure value to a controller which compares the value with predetermined set values and provides a correction value to the multi-way valve actuator for the correction of the pressure of the fuel supplied to the fuel injection valve.

    Abstract: A jerk pump provided for an internal combustion engine has an integral solenoid valve in which a pump plunger driven by a cam delivers fuel at high pressure through a channel that extends in the pump housing and through an injection line to an injection nozzle. An armature of the solenoid valve cooperates with a spring-loaded valve piston by which the channel-guiding high-pressure side can be connected with a low-pressure side. In order at least largely to avoid rebounding of the solenoid valve in such jerk pumps, provision is made such that the valve piston has an absorbent body held in its resting position by spring force, said absorbent body striking a stop body that holds the valve piston in its closed position when the valve piston is resting on its valve seat.

    Abstract: In a process for regulating the injection quantities of injectors which are fluidically connected with a common pressure line in a common-rail injection system of an internal-combustion engine, a fuel pump provides fuel in the pressure line under a static nominal pressure. Control signals for opening and closing within individual injection periods for achieving respective identical injection quantities are supplied to the injectors by a regulator unit. In the case of different flow rates of the individual injectors respective identical injection quantities are achieved by the regulator unit by changing the respective injection period on the basis of a measuring signal. For this purpose, a pressure gauge inserted into the pressure line generates a measuring signal from a measurement of the static measuring pressure in the pressure line in each case after the closing of an injector.
