In one particular embodiment, the apparatus comprises an electrode assembly that has a housing that is at least partially comprised of an insulating material and having an internal volume and at least one fluid inlet that is in fluid communication with the internal volume; a conductive base connected to the housing comprising a plurality of conductive tips that extend therefrom into a target area and a plurality of perforations that extend therethrough and are in fluid communication with the internal volume to allow for a passage of a gas mixture comprising a reducing gas.

Abstract: A system for enabling users to register to use external financial services comprises a central office comprising an operating platform including a communication interface and a user database having a plurality of records for individual users; wherein the central office communicates via the communication interface with a plurality of remote formless, self-service registration stations; whereby a registration station scans an identification card with a card scanner, photographs the user to create a verification image and records a biometric parameter unique to the user, whereupon the registration station transmits an image of the identification card, the biometric parameter and the verification image to the central office; wherein the operating platform translates text from the identification card and creates a record for the user and wherein the operating platform uses the translated text to populate fields in the user record and retrieves and displays the record to an administrator for review.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for the dry fluxing of at least one component and/or solder surface via electron attachment. In one embodiment, there is provided a method for removing oxides from the surface of a component comprising: providing a component on a substrate wherein the substrate is grounded or has a positive electrical potential to form a target assembly; passing a gas mixture comprising a reducing gas through an ion generator comprising a first and a second electrode; supplying an amount of voltage to at least one of the first and second electrodes sufficient to generate electrons wherein the electrons attach to at least a portion of the reducing gas and form a negatively charged reducing gas; and contacting the target assembly with the negatively charged reducing gas to reduce the oxides on the component.

Abstract: The present invention is a container and a processing for passivating the internal surface of the container to store monochlorosilane in a stable manner without degradation of the monochlorosilane. Various container surface modifications have been identified to reduce surface reactions to acceptable levels. Some of the described surface modifications result in significant reduction in monochlorosilane instability.

Abstract: A device is provided for use in a portable computer. The device includes a wireless graphics card that includes a connector for coupling to an expansion slot of the portable computer and for receiving a plurality of signals from the portable computer, the plurality of signals including video, audio, and data signals and an ultra wideband (UWB) chipset coupled to the connector for processing the plurality of signals and for generating an OFDM modulated signal that includes at least the video signal, where the OFDM modulated signal including the video signal is wirelessly transmitted over an UWB link to a monitor for display.

Abstract: A system and method for providing starter credit card products to selected customers of a credit card issuer is disclosed. Methods, systems and articles of manufacture consistent with the present invention enable a credit card issuer to identify a group of customers that may not eligible to obtain standard credit card products offered by the credit card issuer. The credit card issuer may rank these customers and present offers for starter credit card accounts with adjusted account parameters tailored to these customers. The credit card issuer monitors the activities of each starter card account during a trial period to determine whether each respective account has met predetermined criteria. Based on the results of the monitor process, the credit card issuer may adjust the parameters associated with each starter credit card account.

The selected subset of the point of sale transaction data is then analyzed based on a sorting category resulting in an estimate of sales growth rate over the reporting period.
