    Abstract: A pair of pruning shears is revealed. The pruning shears include a first brake arm, a second brake arm, a blade, and at least one connection piece. The first brake arm is disposed with a first toothed part while the second brake arm is arranged with a second toothed part. The first toothed part and the second toothed part are engaged with each other. The connection pieces are connected to the blade, the first brake arm, and the second brake arm. During a cutting process, a force applied is reduced due to the connection piece pivotally connected to the first brake arm and the second brake arm. While the first and the second toothed parts are engaged with each other, the connection piece becomes a wall of the first and the second toothed parts for stabilizing the engagement of the first and the second toothed parts.

    Abstract: A display device includes multiple pixels, a gate driver and a data driver. Each pixel includes a transistor and a pixel capacitor electrically coupled to the transistor. The gate driver is configured to turn on the transistor of a first pixel for one time during a first turn-on period of multiple turn-on cycles of a frame cycle of a frame displayed by the display device. The data driver is configured to charge the pixel capacitor of the first pixel via the transistor of the first pixel to a first over-charge voltage and a data voltage during an over-charge period and a recovery period of the first turn-on period. The first over-charge voltage is different from the data voltage. A method for driving the display device is also provided.

Furthermore, the sample solution is guided into the channel chip; the light beam is coupled into the waveguide layer via the double-sided grating structure, propagates in the waveguide layer, and penetrates outward. The double-sided waveguide biosensor detects the properties of the sample solution via a variation of a light beam intensity of the outgoing light beam.

    Abstract: A system for measuring the absorption spectrum of a sample is provided that includes a broadband light source that produces broadband light defined within a range of an absorptance spectrum. An interferometer modulates the intensity of the broadband light source for a range of modulation frequencies. A bi-layer cantilever probe arm is thermally connected to a sample arm having at most two layers of materials. The broadband light modulated by the interferometer is directed towards the sample and absorbed by the sample and converted into heat, which causes a temperature rise and bending of the bi-layer cantilever probe arm. A detector mechanism measures and records the deflection of the probe arm so as to obtain the absorptance spectrum of the sample.

    Abstract: An apparatus for detecting a strength of lips-closing is applied for training and evaluation during treatment of temporomandibular disorders (TMD), according to the strength of the lips-closing of the user, the clinical staff and the patients are able to evaluate the severity of lips-closing impairment. It can also be used as training tool with which the effect can be monitored before, during, and after rehabilitation courses. The apparatus includes an air bag, a pressure sensing unit and a micro-controller module. The user puts the air bag, which is able to be pumped air in or out, between the lips. The pressure sensing unit is connected to the air bag for detecting a pressure formed by the lips of the user forcing the air bag, to generate a signal. The micro-controller module is electrically connected to the pressure sensing unit for converting the signal into the strength of lips-closing.
