  • Publication number: 20150285685
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for deep spectroscopic imaging of a biological sample. In an aspect, a system includes a broad bandwidth light source configured to generate an illumination beam, an interferometer, and a spectrometer. The interferometer includes a first beam splitter configured to split the illumination beam into an incident beam and a reference beam; an optical lens directs the incident beam onto a biological sample at a predefined offset from corresponding optical axis, and receive a beam scattered from the biological sample. The beams are configured to intersect with each other within a focal zone of the optical lens. Photons of the incident beam undergo multiple forward scattering within the biological sample. A second beam splitter configured to receive and superimpose the scattered and reference beams, to generate an interference beam. The spectrometer uses a spectral domain detection technique to assess tissue properties of the biological sample.

  • Patent number: 9092612
Abstract: A method and system for secure access to data files copied onto a second storage device from a first storage device. A computer receives data from a first storage device that is in communication with the computer. A data file is stored to a second storage device. A passkey is generated and associated with the data file. A passkey image file corresponding to the passkey is generated. The passkey image file is transmitted to the first storage device for storage. Subsequent access to the data file on the second storage device requires entry of the passkey. The passkey is only accessible to a user that has access to read the passkey image file on the first storage device.

  • Publication number: 20150062591
Abstract: Embodiments described herein involve low-coherence interferometry (LCI) techniques which enable acquisition of structural and depth information regarding a sample of interest. In one embodiment, a “swept-source” (SS) light source is used in LCI to obtain structural and depth information about a sample. The swept-source light source can be used to generate a reference signal and a signal directed towards a sample. Light scattered from the sample is returned as a result and mixed with the reference signal to achieve interference and thus provide structural information regarding the sample. Depth information about the sample can be obtained using Fourier domain concepts as well as time domain techniques. Several LCI embodiments employing a swept-source light source are disclosed herein. In another embodiment disclosed herein, an a/LCI system and method is provided that is based on a time domain system and employs a broadband light source.

  • Patent number: 8922768
Abstract: A spectrometer in accordance with the present disclosure may provide multiple optical paths from the inputs to the camera, where the paths are as nearly identical as possible. For example, a spectrometer in accordance with the present disclosure may include multiple inputs, input optics, a diffraction grating, output optics, and a camera. The multiple inputs may be imaged onto different sections of the camera using the same input optics, the same diffraction grating, and the same output optics.

  • Publication number: 20140340634
Abstract: An optical coherence tomography system may have a reflector system that reflects light from a light source to provide a plurality of light rays that fall within different wavelength ranges, optical componentry that directs a subset of a first beam of light including the plurality of light rays to an object to be imaged, a detector that detects the subset after reflection from the object, and signal processing componentry that processes signals from the detector to provide an optical coherence tomography image of the object. The reflector system may be configured such that the optical pathways followed by the light rays change in length at an even increment, so that the first beam of light will project wavelength groups at relatively even time increments. The optical pathways may be collinear or offset from each other. An interleaver may be used to enable detection of the first beam by multiple detectors.

  • Publication number: 20130076106
Abstract: A non-rotating wheel cover assembly (1) that attaches to a wheel via an universal lug mounting bracket (2). The universal lug mounting bracket is made up of a preferably circular mounting plate (4) having a plurality of slots (24) extending from a central aperture (14) to an outer edge (35) of the mounting plate. The slots are positioned around the mounting plate to accommodate various lug patterns, such as wheels having five lugs (3) or six lugs. The slots also accommodate wheels having various diameters where the lugs are spaced further or closer to the center of a wheel. An inner plate (10) having a bearing (17) located therein engages an axle (18) extending from an outer plate (20). A ridge (23) located at a base (24) of the axle prevents damage to a wheel cover (8) if the wheel cover comes into contact with a curb.
