  • Publication number: 20040142801
Abstract: A compliant body-pressing exerciser, which may constitute an inflatable, compliant structure, is adapted to be mounted to a seat or rigid frame, and includes a bowl-shaped lower member and a dome-shaped upper member formed respectively with upper and lower surrounding edge portions that engage each other and adapted to contact the ground and compliantly press against a user's body. A height of the upper member is larger than that of the lower member. Exercising assemblies that comprise elastic or bungee cords may be coupled to the frame.

  • Publication number: 20040087421
Abstract: An exercise balance trainer includes a hard board and a resilient ball body connected to the board. The ball body has a first curved wall with a first rim, a second curved wall with a second rim connected fixedly to the first rim so as to define an air-receiving chamber between the first and second curved walls, and an annular flange connected to the board and a junction of the first and second rims. The first and second rims have the same diameter. The first curved wall has a maximum height that is not greater than one-half of the diameter of the first rim. The second curved wall has a maximum height that is not greater than one-third of the diameter of the second rim.

  • Patent number: 6702726
Abstract: A compliant body-pressing exerciser is adapted to be detachably coupled to a seat frame, and includes a bowl-shaped lower member and a dome-shaped upper member formed respectively with upper and lower surrounding edge portions that engage each other and adapted to contact the ground and compliantly press against a user's body. A height of the upper member is larger than that of the lower member. A shortest one of radial distances measured from a central point to the lower surrounding edge portion is not less than the height of the upper member so as to lower the gravity center of the exerciser.

  • Publication number: 20040027694
Abstract: An Adjustable Segmented Dual Function Mirror with video display (ASDFM) suitable for providing alternatively or simultaneously both a conventional reflected image and a video image under a wide range of ambient lighting condition is disclosed. The ASDFM comprises a two-dimensional connection of traditional mirror segments and dual function mirror segments. Each dual function mirror segment can be rotationally and adjustably connected to the rest of the ASDFM to achieve an optimal visually relevant image-to-ambient contrast for viewing. Alternatively, a position adjustable variable transmissivity screen, a controllable variable transmissivity film or a controllable variable reflectivity film can be included in a dual function mirror segment that is rigidly connected to the rest of the ASDFM for the same purpose. Numerous mechanical, fluid dynamical and electrical implementations are described.

  • Patent number: 5956181
Abstract: The present invention discloses a two way, rear view mirror suitable for providing alternatively or simultaneously both a conventional reflected image and a video image. A preferred two way mirror of the invention comprises a flat transparent plate coated with or glued with a reflective film mounted within a casing which provides supports for the mirror and a mounting space for at least one video display monitor with a built-in light source mounted in said casing and positioned directly behind said reflective film to receive and display image received from a variety of information sources.
