  • Patent number: 4282904
Abstract: An article of manufacture useful in the production of sausages comprising a hollow rod consisting of longitudinally gathered packing tube and a surrounding support sheath of formable sheet material, such as polyethylene, with integral end walls each having a central opening therein, said integral end walls being formed by longitudinally axially twisting the end portions of the sheath and thereafter longitudinally compressing and buckling the twisted ends of the sheath; the openings in the ends walls of the support sheath allowing insertion of a filling tube of a filling machine into the hollow rod in the interior cavity of the support sheath and permitting ready withdrawal of the end of the packing tube from the support sheath in order to form a closed end on the tube prior to extruding sausage meat into the tube.

  • Patent number: 4202075
Abstract: Disclosed is a calibrating device for expanding and controlling the draw-off speed of a shirred tubular casing 4a from the stuffing horn 1 of a stuffing machine during the filling thereof. This device comprises a hollow calibrating pipe 2 having a central bore therethrough for mounting on the stuffing horn 1 of a stuffing machine, and an enlarged circumference 8 at one end thereof which applies a frictional force to the tubular casing 4 as the casing is drawn over the pipe during filling. At least the enlarged end 8 of the pipe 2, moreover, is made of a resilient material to provide this area with a variable circumference to eliminate damage to the casing due to variations in the size thereof. Means 3 are also provided for adjusting the effective circumference of the enlarged end 8 of the pipe 2.

  • Patent number: 4138729
Abstract: A vector analyzer which serves for determining defining quantities of a planar vector in which the output of a digital counter is fed, via sine and cosine function generators, to a vector rotator addressed by the component voltages of an input vector and made to follow the value of the phase angle of the input vector by means of a three point control in order to make the output of the digital overflow counter follow the phase angle of an input vector by means of a control loop; the counter content is reset to zero without problem if the value 360.degree. of the phase angle is exceeded. The invention can be used particularly for field orientation control of rotating field machines.

  • Patent number: 4063858
Abstract: A layer-forming apparatus, particularly for the preparation of particle-board mats adapted to be compressed with heating in a platen or other press to form a coherent structure generally known as particle board, comprises a dispensing unit for metering the particulate matter onto a conveyor to form the layer and, between the dispensing unit and the conveyor, a classifying device for separating fine particles from coarser particles. The conveyor feeds a head which spreads the particles from the layer on a receiving surface. The receiving surface carries the mat and the head is designed to deposit the coarser particles of the layer from the conveyor either before or after the fine particles so that the fine particles form a facing zone on the bottom and/or top of the mat.
