  • Publication number: 20050138380
Abstract: An integrated security system which seamlessly assimilates with current generation logical security systems. The integrated security system incorporates a security controller having standard network interface capabilities including EEE 802.x and takes advantage of the convenience and security offered by smart cards and related devices for both physical and logical security purposes. The invention is based on standard remote authentication dial-in service (RADIUS) protocols or TCP/IP using SSL, TLS, PCT or IPsec and stores a shared secret required by the secure communication protocols in a secure access module coupled to the security controller. The security controller is intended to be a networked client or embedded intelligent device controlled remotely by to an authentication server. In another embodiment of the invention one or more life cycle management transactions are performed with the secure access module.

  • Patent number: 6896913
Abstract: An extraction process and composition produced thereby for use as an antihistamine is disclosed. The composition comprises an extraction of Loranthus, which is derived from a species of Loranthus known to possess quantities of quercetin and avicularin, which may be administered orally in an amount up to 300 mg per day, and preferably between 100 to 300 mg per day. The extraction process comprises forming an ethanol extraction from raw Loranthus, filtering the extract, and passing the filtered product through a separation column, eluting, distilling and concentrating the resultant extract and thereafter applying a vacuum to remove water and solvents to produce a concentrated powdered form of the extract.

  • Publication number: 20040218762
Abstract: An anonymous secure messaging method and system for securely exchanging information between a host computer system and a functionally connected cryptographic module. The invention comprises a Host Security Manager application in processing communications with a security executive program installed inside the cryptographic module. An SSL-like communications pathway is established between the host computer system and the cryptographic module. The initial session keys are generated by the host and securely exchanged using a PKI key pair associated with the cryptographic module. The secure communications pathway allows presentation of critical security parameter (CSP) without clear text disclosure of the CSP and further allows use of the generated session keys as temporary substitutes of the CSP for the session in which the session keys were created.

  • Publication number: 20040143730
Abstract: An anonymous secure messaging method, system and computer program product for implementation over a wireless connection. The invention allows the securely exchange of information between a security token enabled computer system and an intelligent remote device having an operatively coupled security token thereto over the wireless connection. The invention establishes an anonymous secure messaging channel between the security token and the security token enabled computer system, which allows the intelligent remote device to emulate a locally connected security token peripheral device without requiring a physical connection. A dedicated wireless communications channel is incorporated to prevent several concurrent wireless connections from being established with the security token and potentially compromising the security of the information being sent on concurrent wireless connections.

  • Publication number: 20040031672
Abstract: This invention involves one kind of liquid crystal color light switch, made especially from cholesteric liquid crystals. By changing the voltage applied, the reflection wavelength of the color light switch can be controlled, leading to a rapid change of the reflected light from red to green to blue in rapid succession, thus creating a color display. The core technology of this invention is making the voltage applied to the cholesteric liquid crystal less than the untwisted voltage and still in good focal conic state, that is the symmetric axis are in the same direction, and the pitch is varied according to the voltage applied.

  • Publication number: 20040030934
Abstract: A password interface application (1) presents successive arrays of images or other sensory cues (4) for display or playback on a client device. A user selects, or simply recognizes, one object from each of the successively presented arrays, wherein after recognizing the object subsequent arrays are presented for defining a complete password. Unlike image based authentication systems in which a graphic method merely replaces original username/password pair authentication, a client system is used which helps a user to recall a forgotten password without requiring modification to server software, such as a secure web server (3). Thus existing ATMs (2), online or telephone banking services, and the like, can function as is. The system provides enhanced security because, although people can possibly eavesdrop on the images or sensory cues selected, they cannot see into the user's mind to comprehend the password that the user recognizes.

  • Patent number: 6663416
Abstract: The heat-dissipating module includes at least one heat-dissipating device and a terminal mounted and fixed on one side of the heat-dissipating device and electrically connected with the heat-dissipating device. As the heat-dissipating module is inserted into a frame of the system, the terminal will be received by a receptacle inside the system such that the heat-dissipating module can be electrically connected to the system. The heat-dissipating module can be easily dissembled and replaced in a system without turning off the system and can provide the best heat-dissipating efficiency in a limited space of the system without being affected by the inside height or thickness of the system.

  • Publication number: 20030204732
Abstract: This patent application describes a data processing system and method for securely storing and retrieving a cryptographic secret from a plurality of network-enabled clients. The cryptographic secret is encrypted using a split key arrangement where a first key component is generated and stored inside a hardware security token and a second key component is generated and stored on a server. Random variables and dynamic passwords are introduced to mask the key components during transport. In order to gain access to the first password, the user is required to enter his or her PIN. The key encryption key is generated by performing a series of XOR operations, which unmasks the first and second key components on a client allowing generation of a symmetric key The symmetric key is used to encrypt the cryptographic secret at the user's normal client and decrypt the cryptogram at another client lacking the cryptographic secret.
