  • Patent number: 8054598
Abstract: Exemplary systems, apparatus, and methods relate to a current limiting device on each of two or more load branches that limits the current drawn by each load branch to a branch current allocation for that branch, where each of the current limiting devices is configured to automatically communicate messages to negotiate adjustments to the branch current allocations among each of the load branches while maintaining the sum of the branch allocations substantially at or below an available capacity of the supply branch. In an exemplary embodiment, a system of intelligent power modules (IPMs) may operate together to automatically negotiate capacity sharing among a number of load branches by adapting to the dynamic load conditions in order to takes improved advantage of infrastructure power handling capability without exceeding a predetermined capacity of the supply branch.

  • Patent number: 8004831
Abstract: A facility is described that includes one or more enclosures defining an interior space, a plurality of power taps, a plurality of coolant supply taps, and a plurality of coolant return taps. A flow capacity of the supply taps and a flow capacity of the return taps can be approximately equal over a local area of the interior space. The plurality of power taps, the plurality of supply taps, and the plurality of return taps can be divided into a plurality of zones, with taps of each zone are configured to be controllably coupled to a power source or a coolant source independently of the taps of other zones. The taps can be positioned along paths, and paths of the power taps can be spaced from associated proximate paths of supply and return taps by a substantially uniform distance along a substantial length of the first path.

  • Patent number: 7061887
Abstract: A system, method and node for supporting multiple IP sessions with dynamically allocated home IP addresses in a CDMA2000 network. When the Home Agent (HA) receives a registration request from a Mobile Node (MN), it verifies if there are any mobility bindings for the MN. If yes, the HA verifies if the MN's care-of address equals one it already stores. If not, the HA verifies if the home IP address in the request is zero, and if no refreshes the mobility binding. However, if the IP address is zero, the HA verifies if the MN has reached its session number limit, and if so, the HA keeps only the first session and removes the others, but if no, the HA creates a new mobile IP session. The proper home IP address is the returned to the MN.

  • Publication number: 20030212794
Abstract: A method and a node for associating an IP address of a device with its MAC address, where the network parts of the device and the node are different. The device receives an ARP response comprising the device's IP address and MAC address, accepts the response regardless of a difference between the network parts, and associates the IP address with the MAC address. There is further a method and a node in an IP network where the node receives a message for the device, determines that it does not have the MAC address corresponding to the IP address, and broadcasts an ARP request. The method and node is particularly useful for mobile IP, where a device roams between various sub-nets.

  • Publication number: 20030079021
Abstract: A method, system and call server for reducing accounting traffic between a call server and a AAA server following a billing rate change. Following an expiration of a timer indicating the change, the call server collects accounting data of a first portion of the IP session to be billed at a first billing rate. At the next accounting event, if any accounting data is pending transmission to the AAA server, the call server sends to the AAA server an Accounting Stop message with pending accounting data related to the activity during the first portion of the IP session, and then sends an Accounting Start message with no activity parameter. Depending upon the type of the accounting event, the call server further sends to the AAA server the activity parameters related to the second portion of the IP session using an Accounting Stop message or in a next Accounting Interim message.
