Dynamically delaying execution of automated assistant actions and/or background application requests
Patent number: 11545151Abstract: Implementations set forth herein allow a user to access a first application in a foreground of a graphical interface, and simultaneously employ an automated assistant to respond to notifications arising from a second application. The user can provide an input, such as a spoken utterance, while viewing the first application in the foreground in order to respond to notifications from the second application without performing certain intervening steps that can arise under certain circumstances. Such intervening steps can include providing a user confirmation, which can be bypassed, and/or time-limited according to a timer, which can be displayed in response to the user providing a responsive input directed at the notification. A period for the timer can be set according to one or more characteristics that are associated with the notification, the user, and/or any other information that can be associated with the user receiving the notification.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 2019Date of Patent: January 3, 2023Assignee: GOOGLE LLCInventors: Denis Burakov, Sergey Nazarov, Behshad Behzadi, Mario Bertschler, Bohdan Vlasyuk, Daniel Cotting, Michael Golikov, Lucas Mirelmann, Steve Cheng, Zaheed Sabur, Okan Kolak, Yan Zhong, Vinh Quoc Ly -
Publication number: 20220166738Abstract: Traditional messaging applications (such as email, social networking platforms, text, instant messaging, chat, etc.) are ill-equipped for collaboration. For instance, a sender and recipients corresponding regarding a topic are often required to exchange multiple messages. As a result, determining a consensus regarding the topic or summarizing the collaboration is difficult and cumbersome. Moreover, when links are included in messages, recipients are required to navigate away from the messaging application to view the linked content. A messaging application is provided that may be configured to enable users to dynamically collaborate regarding links or data within a sent message or a receive message. In aspects, a collaborative user experience (UX) is provided, which may be an interface within a message that enables real-time collaboration between a sender and one or more recipients regarding message content—without exchanging additional messages or navigating away from the messaging application.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 20, 2020Publication date: May 26, 2022Applicant: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Leeviana Peng GRAY, Sebastien Rene VANDENBERGHE, Kyle P. Publication number: 20220109651Abstract: System and methods are directed to displaying interactive content with static content in a user interface of an application. More specifically, it may be determined that an interactive component is to be rendered in a user interface of a first application, where the user interface includes static content. In response to determining that the interactive component is it be rendered, at least one linking parameter may be determined for linking the interactive component with interactive content stored in a shared storage. Based on the at least one linking parameter, the interactive component may be rendered in the user interface of the first application in-line with the static content of the user interface of the first application. Changes to the interactive content made by a second user of a second application may then be updated within the interactive component rendered in the user interface of the first application.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 7, 2020Publication date: April 7, 2022Applicant: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Yan Zhong LEIGH, Kyle Patrick CURLETT, Ankur LAL, Zohaib RAUF, Sathish Kumar Venkat RANGAM, Cosmin CATRINESCU, Jonathan Seth KAUFTHAL, Brian Daniel MEERSMA, Maya RODRIG, Humberto Lezama GUADARRAMA, Betsy Yu-pui MCINTYRE, William Dean SAULNIER, Jiuqing SONG, Arnavi Mahendra CHHEDA, Yue MA, Leeviana Peng GRAY, Barnabas James WHITFIELD, Andrei Valentinovich ZENKOVITCH

Patent number: 10826649Abstract: A communication device determines that a data rate of a data packet exceeds a threshold, and in response, lowers a processing speed of an equalizer device to prevent a buffer from overflowing. The buffer stores outputs generated by the equalizer device. A forward error correction code decoder device of the communication device processes outputs of the equalizer device corresponding to the data packet to generate decoded information corresponding to the data packet. The communication device transmits an acknowledgment packet to acknowledge the data packet such that transmission of the acknowledgment packet begins within required time period, defined by a communication protocol, after an end of the data packet.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2019Date of Patent: November 3, 2020Assignee: Marvell Asia Pte, Ltd.Inventors: Mao Yu, Yong Ma, Chao Shan, Yan Zhong

Patent number: 10754912Abstract: Representative embodiments disclose mechanisms to improve the perceived responsiveness of a search engine. As a user types a query prefix into a browser or other interface to the search engine, the search engine returns query completion suggestions to the browser. The query completion suggestions, user history, user favorites and/or other information are presented to a trained machine learning model on the client device to predict a desired location that the user is attempting to navigate to. When the confidence level of the predicted location surpasses a threshold, content from the desired location is preloaded into a hidden tab in the browser. When the user submits a query, the browser submits feedback to a system responsible for updating and refining the machine learning model. Updated machine learning model coefficients can be received by the browser from the system to make predictions more accurate.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 2018Date of Patent: August 25, 2020Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Nathan Novielli, Yan Zhong, Paul Baecke, Sean Lyndersay, David Sheldon, Malik Mehdi Pradhan, Dheeraj Mehta, Daniel Hill
