Abstract: Provided are novel biocompatible copolymers, compositions comprising the copolymers, and methods of using the copolymers. The copolymers are non-toxic and typically have an LCST below 37° C. Compositions comprising the copolymers can be used for wound treatment, as a cellular growth matrix or niche and for injection into cardiac tissue to repair and mechanically support damaged tissue. The copolymers comprise numerous ester linkages so that the copolymers are erodeable in situ. Degradation products of the copolymers are soluble and non-toxic. The copolymers can be amine-reactive so that they can conjugate with proteins, such as collagen. Active ingredients, such as drugs, can be incorporated into compositions comprising the copolymers.

Abstract: The present invention deals with the production of food products with a health promoting effect, namely immune modulation in general, and lowering and/or stabilizing blood sugar levels. The food products concerned comprise polysaccharides from edible or medicinal mushrooms. These are produced through fermentation instead of conventional cultivation of mushrooms. Fermentation process is preferably done in submerged cultures, especially fed-batch or step-up cultures.

Abstract: An exemplary method for testing a network interface card (104) is disclosed. The network interface card (NIC) is connected to a motherboard (102) and a test fixture (108) collectively to form a transmission loop. The method includes the steps of: enabling the NIC; creating a first data packet that includes test data; sending the first data packet via the transmission loop; receiving data from the transmission loop and storing the data as a second data packet; and determining whether the second data packet has the same data as the test data in the first data packet to determine whether the NIC functions normally. Abstract: The invention pertains generally to image processing. More specifically, the invention relates to the processing of sensor imagery using generated imagery. Embodiments of the invention include receiving sensor data, vehicle data, GPS data and accessing a database to obtain a pre-stored image of a target area. The pre-stored image of the target area may then be pre-processed by transforming the image into a warped coordinate system and adding visual effects to create projection image of the target area. The projection image may then be compared to a current image of the target area to determine a three-dimensional location of a target located in the target area. Additional embodiments of the invention include the use of a feedback loop for refinement and correction of results and/or the use of parallel processors to speed processing.

Abstract: A textured proteinaceous food product can be produced in a controlled and safe manner by adding an endogenous gas-forming agent to a protein substrate and subjecting the protein substrate with the gas-forming agent in the presence of water to a heat treatment. The proteins substrate is preferably vegetable, such as gluten or legume protein. This process results in a meat-like product having desired and reproducible texture and taste.
