Patent number: 7066819Abstract: A coupling device has a pulley that receives rotational torque from an engine. The torque is transmitted to a shaft through a hub and a one-way clutch. A torque limiter is screwed on the shaft to fasten the inner ring of the one-way clutch onto the shaft. The torque limiter has a breakable portion. The torque is directly transmitted from the inner ring to the shaft when the torque is normal. If the torque exceeds the tightening torque of the torque limiter, the inner ring begins to slide and rotate, and drives the torque limiter in a tightening direction. As the torque limiter is tightened additionally, the tensile stress on the breakable portion is increased. Then, the breakable portion breaks and is separated in axial direction so that the coupling device disconnects torque transmission.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 2003Date of Patent: June 27, 2006Assignee: DENSO CorporationInventors: Motohiko Ueda, Yasuo Tabuchi

Patent number: 6918835Abstract: Two-step protruding portions are provided in a cover of a pulley for hooking the cover on the pulley. When a bridging part is broken, a driving-unit-side portion of the bridging part is outwardly displaced in a rotation axis direction of the pulley. The first-step protruding portion of the cover thereby slips out from a hooking state. However, after the driving-unit-side portion mounts on the driven-unit-side portion, no further force acts outwardly in the rotation axis direction. As a result, the second-step protruding portion of the cover is hooked on the pulley, so that the cover can be fixed to the pulley. This results in inhibiting broken bridging parts or dampers from dispersing.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2003Date of Patent: July 19, 2005Assignee: Denso CorporationInventors: Yuuichi Aoki, Yasuo Tabuchi

Patent number: 6913538Abstract: In a torque transmission system, plural engagement pieces elastically deformable are formed integrally with an outer peripheral portion of a circular portion of a center hub to be engaged with an inner periphery portion of a pulley. A bridge portion of the center hub is disposed to be broken when a torque large than a predetermined torque is applied there to. Since the engagement protrusion pieces are engaged with a part of the pulley, it can prevent the center hub from being removed and falling when the bridge portion of the center hub is broken.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 2002Date of Patent: July 5, 2005Assignee: Denso CorporationInventors: Yasuo Tabuchi, Kiyoshi Kurohata, Koichi Hashinaga, Dieter Kuhn, Volker Friedrich, Thomas Rauth

Patent number: 6860639Abstract: A pulley includes a radial rolling bearing and a pulley main body which are integrated to each other by an insert molding method. Therefore, a metal insert member is not required between the resin pulley main body and the radial rolling bearing, thereby reducing production cost of the pulley. Further, an axial dimension of an outer ring of the radial rolling bearing is set larger than an axial dimension of an inner ring thereof, so that a contact area between the radial rolling bearing and the pulley main body is increased. Therefore, a connection strength between the radial rolling bearing and the pulley main body is increased, and a surface area of the radial rolling bearing is increased, thereby improving heat radiation performance of the radial rolling bearing.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 2003Date of Patent: March 1, 2005Assignee: Denso CorporationInventors: Yasuo Tabuchi, Akira Kishibuchi

Patent number: 6802779Abstract: A hole is formed in a damper rubber, where by when a compressive load is small, pillar portions undergo a flexural deformation so as to result in buckling deformation. On the other hand, when the compressive load becomes large, the hole collapses and the damper rubber undergoes a compressive deformation so as to collapse itself. Thus, since the damper rubber has a non-linear characteristic such that an elastic modulus thereof at an amount of deformation exceeding a predetermined amount is larger than that at an amount of deformation less than the predetermined amount, the transmission of a large torque can be implemented while absorbing a torque fluctuation sufficiently.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 2001Date of Patent: October 12, 2004Assignee: Denso CorporationInventors: Yasuo Tabuchi, Junichi Ohguchi, Makoto Ito, Manabu Saiki, Kiyoshi Kurohata

Publication number: 20040165993Abstract: A limiter device is provided in a variable displacement compressor capable of varying a discharge displacement per revolution and compressing a fluid in a cycle. The limiter device includes an operating characteristic acquiring means for acquiring a predetermined characteristic during a compression operation of the compressor, and a varying means for varying the discharge displacement of the compressor to a minimum side when the predetermined characteristic obtained by the operating characteristic acquiring means exceeds a predetermined value. Thus, the limiter device can prevent the compressor from being brought into trouble such as locking and can protect a driving belt and other auxiliary equipment on a side of an engine, while it is unnecessary to provide a pulley with a limiter function.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 17, 2004Publication date: August 26, 2004Applicant: DENSO CORPORATIONInventors: Yasuo Tabuchi, Manabu Saiki, Masahito Yamashita, Junichi Ohguchi

Patent number: 6722993Abstract: A power transmission system has a Neidhart structure in which a damper is shearing-deformed while being press-deformed when torque is applied to a pulley. The torque is transmitted from the pulley to a center hub by the reaction force in response to a vector component of the deformation of the damper, parallel to the pulley rotation direction, while a torque fluctuation is reduced by the deformation of the damper. Thereby, it is possible to set an elasticity modulus of the damper to be smaller. Therefore, it is possible to provide a compact power transmission system having a reduced torque fluctuation.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 2002Date of Patent: April 20, 2004Assignee: Denso CorporationInventors: Yasuo Tabuchi, Manabu Saiki, Naoto Agata, Makoto Ito, Yuichi Aoki, Junichi Ohguchi

Publication number: 20040067807Abstract: A power transmission device for suppressing oxidation and degradation of dampers for improved damper life has dampers with contact surfaces for making contact with a pulley inner periphery and a hub outer periphery, and non-contact surfaces out of contact with the pulley inner periphery and the hub outer periphery. The non-contact surfaces have oxygen permeance suppression layers made of, for example, acrylic rubber, having an oxygen permeability less than that of the contact surfaces. Consequently, it is possible to suppress the permeance of oxygen into the dampers through the oxygen permeance suppression layers. Thus, even when the dampers rise in temperature, the outer peripheries thereof exposed directly to the air can be prevented from oxidizing and degradation.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 11, 2003Publication date: April 8, 2004Inventors: Haruhisa Shibata, Kazuo Kato, Junichi Ohguchi, Yasuo Tabuchi, Makoto Ito, Toshio Shimomura
