  • Patent number: 8037859
Abstract: An intake manifold to be mounted to a traverse engine includes pieces made of resin and welded to each other. The pieces are constructed with a first piece having a connector to be connected to the engine, and a second piece. The second piece has an upper positioning part overlapping with the first piece except for the connector having a linear-shaped outlet passage. The upper positioning part is welded to the first piece so as to define an upstream side passage of the outlet passage. The first piece has a cover, which covers the upper positioning part defining a downstream end of the upstream side passage.

  • Publication number: 20110232598
Abstract: An intake manifold is located on a downstream side of a throttle valve in an intake passage. A switching valve is placed on an upstream side of a connection between a communication conduit and an outlet of a lower portion of a surge tank of the intake manifold and is adapted to open or close the communication conduit. A control device controls the switching valve to open or close the switching valve. The control device closes the switching valve when an operational state of an engine is in one of idling time, accelerating driving time and high speed driving time of a vehicle, and the control device opens the switching valve when the operational state of the internal combustion engine is in decelerating driving time of the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20100294228
Abstract: An air intake apparatus for an internal combustion engine is an apparatus introducing intake air into a combustion chamber, and includes an intake manifold attached to a cylinder head, and a cartridge fitted into the intake manifold. The cartridge includes a tube-like main body forming an air intake channel, a partition provided on the main body to separate the air intake channel into first and second passages, and an air intake control valve capable of reducing a channel cross sectional area of at least one of the first and second passages separated by the partition.

  • Patent number: 7837489
Abstract: A novel electrical connector that is thin and can hold a belt-like body. The electrical connector has two kinds of contact elements. When an actuator is rotated, an operation section of the actuator presses one connector element downward, and force from the one connector element causes the rotation shaft of the actuator to move upward. As a result, a portion near one end of a bar-like section, supported in air, of the other contact element is elastically deformed upward. By the principle of leverage, a portion near the other end of a bar-like section of the other contact element is moved downward.

  • Patent number: 7814877
Abstract: An intake manifold is provided with partitions which divide the lower space formed under opening ends. An intake air is prevented from flowing into the lower space by the partitions. Since the intake air can be efficiently suctioned to each opening ends, pressure loss of the intake air can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20090305551
Abstract: A differential transmission connector in which degradation of signal characteristics is improved. The connector being mated to a mating connector and making electrical connection of two or more differential transmission cables each having a pair of signal lines and at least one drain line, includes a contact for a pair of adjacent signal lines being connected with the pair of signal lines of the cable, a contact for the earth line being connected with the at least one drain line of the cable, a carrier having the contact for a pair of signal lines and the contact for the earth line arranged alternately in one row on an identical plane in the width direction intersecting the axial direction of the cable perpendicularly, and a shell covering the contact for signal lines, the contact for the earth line and the carrier, wherein a drain line located at least one end of the arrangement is connected with the shell.

  • Publication number: 20080287005
Abstract: A connector for electrically connecting a primary side mating connector having contacts and a secondary mating connector having contacts. The connector has parallelly arranged flexible cables and connectors provided at both ends of the cable and individually connected to the primary and secondary mating connectors. The number of the primary side contacts is less than the number of the secondary side contacts, and at least some of the secondary side contacts are connected to one cable that is shared by a set of contacts. The primary side mating connectors are fixed on a circuit board. The secondary mating connector is assembled in an information device that is movable on a mounting surface.

  • Patent number: 7300298
Abstract: The present invention provides a board fixing device not having an arm portion along a side edge of a printed circuit board. In a connector having spring contacts forming a contact point row in a direction perpendicular to the insertion direction of a board, when one end of said board is rotated in a direction whereby the spring contacts are pressed while being put into contact with the said spring contacts, during the insertion of the printed circuit board into said connector, and the other end of the opposing printed circuit board is made to approach said board fixing device, a printed circuit board having a corresponding notched portion on its edge portion engages a stabilizing piece formed in a perpendicular direction from one surface of the base portion, and at the same time, engages a protruding portion protruding from said base portion, and is fixed against the driving force of the said spring contacts.

  • Patent number: 7219640
Abstract: In a variable air induction apparatus, a valve element is switched between one side to open a first air intake passage and close a second air intake passage, and the other side to open the second air intake passage and to close the first air intake passage. The first air intake passage and the second air intake passage have lengths different from each other. The valve element is fixed on a shaft member to rotate integrally with the shaft. A driving device applies a driving force to rotate the shaft member. An urging device urges the shaft member to rotate the valve element to be switched to any one of the one side and the other side.
