    Abstract: A quick release device of a ratchet wrench includes a rotary ring rotatably mounted to a positioning member on the head of the wrench. When the rotary ring is rotated, a movable plate is driven to a positioning position or a releasing position. When the movable plate is located at the engaging position, a contact portion of the movable plate is engaged with one of multiple recessed portions of the rotary ring, and an engaging portion of the movable plate is engaged with a groove of a socket that is connected to the ratchet wheel of the wrench. When the movable plate is located at the releasing position, the contact portion contacts with one of the protrusions of the rotary ring, and the engaging portion is disengaged from the groove of the socket so that the socket can be quickly removed from the wrench.

A switch device includes a shank, a spring and a rod. The shank is rotatably received in a receiving hole in the head, and has a notch in which the spring and the rod are received. The rod is pushed by the spring and movably engaged with the recess in the rear side of the pawl. A protrusion is formed on the shank, and includes two shoulders formed on two ends thereof. The recess of the pawl includes contact ends. When the shank is pivoted, one of the two shoulders applies a force to the inner wall of the recess and one of the two contact ends to move the pawl to be engaged with the driving wheel.

    Abstract: A ratchet wrench includes a head with a ratchet wheel rotatably received in a through hole defined through the head. A lateral hole is defined laterally through the wall of the head and communicates with the through hole. A contact portion protrudes inwardly from the inner periphery of the lateral hole so as to reduce the diameter of one end of the lateral hole. A pawl, a spring and a contact member are received in the lateral hole. The spring is biased between the pawl and the contact member, and the pawl is engaged with the ratchet wheel. The contact member is a disk and stopped by the contact portion so that the pawl, the spring and the contact member do not drop from the lateral hole without using a bolt.

The positioning ring is an O-shaped ring and surrounded the outer periphery of the cylindrical flange, and has a central bore. At least one protrusion radially protruded from the inner wall of the central bore of the positioning ring. The protrusion is projected from the wall of the driving hole through the aperture to position a socket. The positioning ring is moved a distance along the radial direction relative to the ratchet wheel by being pushed toward the at least one protrusion to completely retract the at least one protrusion into the aperture to release the socket.
