  • Patent number: 6311505
Abstract: A vehicle air conditioner that inhibits re-evaporation of condensed water on the surface of an evaporator that might fog the inner surface of the vehicle windshield during operation of a hot gas heating cycle heating mode. It is possible to switch operation of a cooling mode by an ordinary refrigerating cycle by opening the inlet side of a condenser and closing the inlet side of a hot gas bypass passage. It is also possible to switch the operation of the heating mode by closing the inlet side of the condenser and opening the inlet side of the hot gas bypass passage. When it is determined during operation of the heating mode that the windshield will fog, operation of the air conditioning compressor is interrupted by the air conditioning control unit so that the temperature of an evaporator reaches no more than a predetermined value.

  • Publication number: 20010022090
Abstract: In a freezing cycle apparatus that switches between a cooling mode and a heating mode, wherein a low-pressure refrigerant is evaporated in an evaporator 18 for cooling the air during a cooling mode and a hot gas refrigerant is introduced from the discharge side of a compressor 10 directly into the evaporator 18. A variable displacement type compressor capable of varying the displacement is used as the compressor 10. The displacement of the compressor 10 is controlled such that the refrigerant flow rate in the cooling or heating cycle is a predetermined target flow rate during the cooling and the heating mode.

  • Patent number: 6266965
Abstract: In a refrigerant cycle system, a refrigerant discharge side of a compressor is directly connected to a refrigerant inlet side of an evaporator through a hot-gas bypass passage so that the evaporator is used as a radiator during a heating mode due to the hot-gas bypass. A physical amount of refrigerant, such as a high-pressure side refrigerant pressure, flowing through the hot-gas bypass passage is detected. When the high-pressure side refrigerant pressure is decreased to a value corresponding to a refrigerant shortage area, a refrigerant shortage is determined and the compressor is stopped by a control unit. Thus, during the heating mode due to the hot-gas bypass, when a refrigerant leakage is caused in the refrigerant cycle system, the compressor is accurately protected.

  • Patent number: 6256453
Abstract: A video camera using a disk-type recording medium is capable of allowing the user to extend the remaining record time easily. In the control sequence, step 2 detects whether the record time extension key is pressed. The sequence proceeds to step 3 if the key is pressed, or otherwise proceeds to step 5. Step 3 calculates the extendable remaining record time and displays it. When the storage space runs out during the recording of the video signal of an intended shot scene, step 4 searches for the largest record area or nearest record area of NG scene based on management information which is recorded on the recording medium for the video signal of each shot scene, moves the recording head to the area, and records the video signal of intended scene continuously by overwriting in the area. Step 5 detects whether the record time remains. The sequence proceeds to step 6 to terminate the recording operation if the record time runs out, or otherwise returns to step 2.

  • Patent number: 6244060
Abstract: A refrigeration cycle for a vehicle air conditioner has a bypass passage between a compressor and an evaporator. In a heating mode, high-temperature gas refrigerant discharged from the compressor is directly introduced into the evaporator through the bypass passage while bypassing a condenser to improve a heating performance of the air conditioner. When a refrigerant recovery mode in which refrigerant staying in the condenser is forced to be discharged and introduced into the evaporator is set, a passage between the condenser and the evaporator in which a thermostatic expansion valve is disposed is controlled to be opened a predetermined amount. As a result, refrigerant staying in the condenser is securely returned to the evaporator even when a temperature of outside air is extremely low and the expansion valve is closed.

  • Patent number: 6237681
Abstract: A refrigerating cycle apparatus that inhibits system corrosion and abnormally high pressure during startup of a first refrigerant circuit by preventing air from penetrating into a refrigerant compressor during low-temperature startup of a second auxiliary refrigerant circuit. An apparatus evaporator heats air flowing through an air conditioning duct as a high temperature/high pressure gas refrigerant discharged from an engine-driven compressor is guided through a pressure-reducing unit and the evaporator, bypassing a condenser. Thereafter, the refrigerant is returned to the compressor, which is automatically stopped when a compressor suction pressure, or a physical quantity representative of the suction pressure, becomes lower than a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 6148632
Abstract: A refrigeration cycle is switched from a refrigeration cycle circuit to a hot gas heater circuit to make the hot gas discharged from a compressor flow into an evaporator and heat the vehicle passenger compartment, at which time, when a suction pressure (Ps) of the compressor becomes a low pressure below a first predetermined pressure, the discharge volume (Vc) of the compressor is made larger to ensure a sufficient auxiliary heating performance. Further, when the hot gas is made to flow into the evaporator to heat the vehicle passenger compartment, if the suction pressure (Ps) of the compressor becomes a higher pressure over a second predetermined pressure, the discharge volume (Vc) of the compressor is made smaller to protect the refrigeration cycle parts and lighten the ON, OFF shock.

  • Patent number: 6119473
Abstract: A motor vehicle air conditioner control system that maintains a target cooling vent temperature without sacrificing vehicle engine performance. When a vehicle air conditioning compressor increases to above a predetermined speed and the vehicle engine driving force increases, such as during a period of engine acceleration, compressor cooling capacity becomes saturated and does not increase. When the speed of the compressor rises to a predetermined value and the compressor assumes a high-speed state, thereafter, while the compressor is in the high-speed state, operation of the compressor is controlled so as to sustain the vent-air temperature of an evaporator determined at a time when the high-speed state has been assumed. As a result, the amount of increase of the driving force due to this compressor speed increase is suppressed by reducing the volume of the compressor, thereby resulting in power savings while securing substantially maximum cooling capacity.

  • Patent number: 6076366
Abstract: A decompressing device for decompressing refrigerant that is discharged from a compressor is provided at an inlet of a hot-gas bypass passage. The refrigerant flows in the hot-gas bypass passage after being decompressed by the decompressing device to bypass a condenser at a heating mode. In this case, because the refrigerant flows in the hot-gas bypass passage with a temperature that is lowered by the decompression, heat loss at a pipe portion of the hot-gas bypass passage is effectively decreased.

  • Patent number: 6058728
Abstract: In a refrigerant cycle having a gas refrigerant bypass passage through which high-temperature gas refrigerant is introduced from a compressor into an evaporator while bypassing a condenser, a super-heating degree of gas refrigerant discharged from the compressor is determined according to signals from a pressure sensor and a temperature sensor disposed at a refrigerant discharging side of the compressor. According to the super-heating degree of gas refrigerant discharged from the compressor, refrigerant staying in the condenser is controlled so that refrigerant amount circulating in the refrigerant cycle is suitably controlled. Thus, heating capacity of the refrigerant cycle using the gas refrigerant bypass passage is improved, while the compressor is protected.
