  • Patent number: 7847980
Abstract: An image processing apparatus performs a density adjustment process for generating an image containing a copy-forgery-inhibited pattern image for warning against the use of copy products. To help users to easily adjust the density of a latent image portion and a background portion in the copy-forgery-inhibited pattern image, the image processing apparatus determines a density relationship of the latent image portion and the background portion by performing a plurality of adjustment operations, in combination, different in the amount of adjustment relating to the range of variable density in at least one of the latent image portion and the background portion, and sets, based on the density relationship, the density data of each of the latent image portion and the background portion in the data of the copy-forgery-inhibited pattern image.

  • Patent number: 7742196
Abstract: An information processing apparatus specifies an area wherein a tint block image is applied, or an area wherein a tint block is not applied. A user selects either an application mode or a non-application mode in an area 2250 to specify a tint block application area or a tint block non-application area, and selects, in an area 2251, a shape for a tint block application area or a tint block non-application area. Then, the user employs, for example, a mouse to adjust the size and the location of the selected figure, and specifies the tint block application area or the tint block non-application area. The printer driver employs the selected area information to generate tint block application/non-application area information, and employs this information to create tint block image data while taking into account the area.

  • Publication number: 20090319545
Abstract: A method for associating detailed data is to aggregate the detailed data by using an aggregation key when detailed data generated in relation to a business is accumulated in a predetermined journal in a format that can identify an aggregation key and segments. The method includes storing the association between the segments as a business pattern; outputting the business pattern to an output unit so as to explicitly show the association between the segments, and associating an input business event name with each segment; outputting the business event name to the output unit and associating an input journal name with the business event name; and outputting the journal name to the output unit and associating an input rule with the journal name, the rule specifying which record in a journal identified by the journal name the detailed data identified by the business event name is.

  • Publication number: 20090303510
Abstract: The invention enables people to easily identify a printout image even in the case where the printout image is printed with a tint block image added thereon. More specifically, a physical page that is a printable area of printing paper is divided into areas, an intended document/image is printed in each of these divided areas (logical pages), and a tint block image is printed only in an area that is in this physical page but does not belong to any of the logical pages. Using a fact that a margin is produced in the so-called N-up printing, the tint block image is printed in this margin. Thereby, the tint block image can be printed in a location that will not interfere with whatever printout image to be printed.

  • Publication number: 20090292741
Abstract: A detailed data storage apparatus creates, when a detailed data database that stores therein detailed data relatint to each stage of a process executed through multiple stages receives detailed data relating to a predetermined stage, forecast detailed data indicating contents predicted for a stage next to a predetermined stage and subsequent stages from the detailed data, and stores the forecast detailed data in the detailed data database. The apparatus includes an order holding unit that orders and holds the multiple stages; a determining unit that determines whether there is a stage immediately previous to the predetermined stage; and an offset detailed-data creating unit that creates offset detailed data including a content for offsetting the forecast detailed data created at the immediately previous stage when the determining unit determines that there is the immediately previous stage, so as to store the offset detailed data in the detailed data database.

  • Publication number: 20090271441
Abstract: A detailed data aggregation apparatus holds detailed data of a plurality of events and a transcription and replenishment rule. In the rule, a plurality of common items, which are common to different events as a minimum unit of aggregation, are defined, and a transcription instruction (for instructing to transcribe a value corresponding to an event definition item to a value corresponding to the common item) and a replenishment instruction (for instructing to replenish a value to be replenished as the value corresponding to the common item) are described, associated with each common item for each event. Regarding the held detailed data, transcribed/replenished detailed data including values corresponding to the common items is created from the respective detailed data according to the transcription instruction or replenishment instruction.

  • Patent number: 7603577
Abstract: An information processing apparatus including detection units to detect physical quantities as targets for detection, and a control unit to measure a physical quantity based on a result of detection by a first detection unit and also to control a supply of power to a second detection unit in response to a result of measurement of the physical quantity. The second detection unit includes a first positioning unit to execute positioning outdoors, and a second positioning unit to execute positioning indoors. When it is determined from a dose of ultraviolet rays measured based on a result of detection by the first detection unit that the control unit is present outdoors, the control unit sets a higher priority to the first positioning unit as compared to the second positioning unit, and controls a supply of power so that positioning is executed only by the first positioning unit.

  • Patent number: 7543169
Abstract: A field effect transistor (FET)is turned ON with supply of a power Vcc to a sensor started, and a signal indicating a result of detection is inputted from the sensor to a GPI terminal of a microcomputer control unit (MCU). After supply of the power Vcc to the sensor is started, the MCU enters the sleep state, and the state is maintained until a normal detection result is outputted from the sensor. When the sensor starts outputting a normal detection result, the MCU returned from the sleep state upon an interruption by a timer, and sampling is made for an output from the sensor. When sampling is performed, supply of the power Vcc to the sensor is stopped with the CMU set in the sleep state. The present invention can be applied to a portable type of information processing apparatus such as a mobile telephone and a PDA.

  • Publication number: 20090080958
Abstract: A printing control apparatus is provided which can produce an appropriate copy-forgery-inhibited pattern image by adding a monochrome copy-forgery-inhibited pattern even if monochrome mode printing is performed in the condition in which a color copy-forgery-inhibited pattern is set. When the monochrome mode printing is performed in the condition in which the color copy-forgery-inhibited pattern is set, and if the copy-forgery-inhibited pattern color is output with its color unchanged, the color is not converted into 100% black. Considering this, when a forced monochrome mode is selected, even if the user's setting for the copy-forgery-inhibited pattern is color, the color is changed to monochrome (black) before output.
