  • Patent number: 5139165
Abstract: A container for a photographic film cartridge consisting essentially of a container body portion being flexible and polygonal and a cap portion fittable to the container body portion revolvably and integrally connected therewith, and the fitting between the container body portion and the cap portion being releasable by deforming the container body portion. When the cartridge is taken out of the container, the cap portion is gradually detached from the container body portion according to the deformation caused by pinching and pressing it. Since the cap portion is connected to the container body portion, the cap portion is still joined to the container body portion, after the fitting is released. Therefore, the container can be opened easily with one hand, and the cap portion is not lost.

Abstract: A self-processing photographic film unit includes a first sheet for recording a positive image, a transparent second sheet bonded to the first sheet in face-to-face relation, a container for a processing liquid coupled to the leading end of the film unit, and a trap coupled to the trailing end of the film unit. Following exposure of the film unit, the processing liquid is distributed uniformly between the sheets, and any excess of the processing liquid from an image-recording area of the first sheet is received in the trap. The trap comprises a bag-like trap cover having a plurality of air orifices and a trap member capable of swelling and solubilizing when in contact with the processing liquid, which is surrounded the trap cover. The trap member is made of a fibrous carboxymethylcellulose sheet or a fibrous carboxymethylcellulose sheet and filter paper bonded to each other by sandwiching a liquid impervious member therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4536067
Abstract: A film pack having a box-shaped case body containing instant picture film units therein includes a depressing unit for biasing the film unit toward an exposure opening of the film pack as well as local depressing members which urge peripheral portions of the film units toward the exposure opening. The biasing force of the local depressing members is substantially independent of the biasing force of the depressing unit, and the biasing force of the local depressing members varies with the number of film units remaining in the film pack, with the biasing force provided by the local depressing members being a maximum when the film pack is filled with film units.

  • Patent number: 4463042
Abstract: A polymer plastic cartridge for holding an information recording means is disclosed. The cartridge is comprised of a container having a writing quality-imparting layer directly embedded on a surface of the container. The writing quality-imparting layer is comprised of a matting agent, a hydrophilic polymer, and a polymer of the same type which the container is comprised of. By embedding the writing quality-imparting layer on the surface of the container it is possible to easily write on the cartridge with a pen, pencil or other conventional writing means. The writing quality-imparting layer can be easily embedded on the surface of the container and will not easily peel off.

  • Patent number: 4460254
Abstract: A self-processing type film unit for an instant camera having a pair of flexible sheets sandwiching a photosensitive layer forming an image forming area at the intermediate portion of the film unit is provided with a developing solution container at its leading end portion and a solution trapping member for trapping excess solution at its trailing end. Several film units are stacked in a package and put into the instant camera. The camera discharges the film units from the package one by one after exposure to light and then feeds them in between a pair of spreading rollers. The rollers rotate with the film unit pinched between them to discharge it outside the camera. When the film unit is passed between the rollers, the developing solution container is broken by the nipping force of the rollers to release the solution contained therein. The released solution is distributed over the image forming area to develop the image on the spot, pushed by the rollers.

  • Patent number: 4372660
Abstract: A film unit containing pack for use with an instant camera of the type in which a plurality of film units are piled one on another within the pack and the film units, once exposed, are fed between a pair of developing rollers including a master roller and a slave roller. An edge of an outlet in the film pack through which the film units are pulled by the camera has a level difference in a range of -0.15 mm to +0.35 mm with respect to the level of an outer wall of the master roller which is closest to an outer wall of the slave roller. Also, the opening width of the outlet is preferably in a range of substantially 1.2 mm to 1.6 mm. Both ends of the edge of the outlet merge with slopes the gradient of each of which is in a range of substantially 1/25 to 1/12 wherein the degree or amount of contact between the edge and the surfaces of the film unit gradually decreases towards edge portions of the film unit.

  • Patent number: 3958721
Abstract: A collapsable tube of synthetic resin materials and adapted to prevent oxidization of the substance contained therein. The body of the tube is constructed of a laminated sheet which, in one embodiment, comprises a polyethylene film an oriented polypropylene film, a polyvinyl alcohol film and a polyethylene film in the order named. Due to the provision of the polyvinyl alcohol film the sheet has an extremely low permeability to oxygen gas and odour and is highly resistant to oil. The oriented polypropylene film provides for the sheet increased rigidity as well as improved printability. A non-return valve is provided at the tube orifice in order to prevent the entrance of air thereinto thus causing substantially no oxidization of the substance contained.

  • Patent number: 3936334
Abstract: A process for forming a collapsable tube having a flexible inner tube and a resilient outer tube. A shoulder member is formed having connecting surfaces. A flexible inner tube is joined to the shoulder member at a connecting surface. An outer tube encompassing the inner tube is joined to the shoulder member at a separate connecting surface so that the outer tube overlaps the joint between the inner tube and shoulder member. To resist permeation, the inner tube is formed by lap welding a laminated sheet of different natured materials and depositing a molten material along an edge of the sheet to seal it.
