Abstract: A composition containing magnetic metal oxide ultrafine particles, which comprises an aqueous sol of a complex of the magnetic metal oxide ultrafine particles with a polysaccharide, a polysaccharide derivative and/or a protein; and an organic monocarboxylic acid. The composition is free of side effects such as platelet aggregation, is safe for use with living bodies, and, in the case of intravascular administration, has no harmful effects on living bodies, and is useful in fields such as medicine and diagnostic drugs.

Abstract: An original-reading device includes a light source for irradiating an original disposed at a reading position, a photoelectric conversion device for converting light reflected from the original into an image signal, a reading unit supporting the light source and the photoelectric conversion device, a feeder for feeding the original to the reading position, a reference member provided at a position different from the reading position, for correcting an image signal from the original, and means for moving the reading unit between a position for reading the reference member and the reading position.

Abstract: Disclosed is a syringe pump apparatus adapted to have a syringe mounted thereon so as to supply in a specified amount per specified unit of time an aqueous solution such as medication within the syringe. A first shaft is fixed to a slider for causing a piston portion of the syringe to operate. Between this slider and a drive motor there are provided a block and a second shaft, the block being provided with an overload detecting mechanism. When the movement of the slider is forcedly stopped during a time period in which the slider is being moved through driving of the drive motor, the resulting load is transmitted to the first shaft in response to the forced stoppage of the slider. In accordance with this load, the overload detecting mechanism detects the state of overload of the slider. Then, when the value detected has exceeded a specified value, the drive motor is stopped by a drive halting mechanism.

Abstract: This invention relates to a recording apparatus having a function for reading data on an original, and a function for recording an image corresponding to read data. The recording apparatus of this invention has: an original read unit for reading data on an original; a record unit for recording an image corresponding to the data read by the original read unit on a recording medium; a device for reciprocating the original read unit and the record unit in a main scan direction; and a feed unit for synchronously feeding the original and the recording medium in a sub-scan direction. The original read and record units are moved in the main scan direction, and the original and the recording medium are synchronously fed in the sub-scan direction to record an image corresponding to the data on the original on the recording medium.

Abstract: A printing or recording apparatus wherein a recording head is detachably mountable to the printing apparatus. The head is movable when mounted in the apparatus along a line on recording paper. The recording head includes an image bearing member. The image bearing member carries a developed image which is provided by forming an electrostatic latent image thereon and developing the latent image. The latent image corresponds to the information to be recorded. The recording paper is intermittently advanced. While the recording paper is at rest, the image bearing member rolls on the recording paper along the direction of the line to transfer the developed image onto the recording paper.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an improvement in an emitting-receiving facsimile apparatus designed with arrangement and structure allowing to realize a smaller apparatus than in the prior art. Abstract: A cleaning device for removing developer from the surface of a reusable and movable image bearing member comprises a cleaning member which extends transversely of the movement direction of the image bearing member, a device for transporting the removed developer along the transverse direction, a passageway for leading the transported developer to a collecting element, and a rotatable helical member for preventing the deposition of the removed developer on the passageway.
