  • Publication number: 20030106509
Abstract: This invention concerns a two-stroke cycle engine, more specially it concerns a two-stroke cycle engine using a preceding air-layer for scavenging. It has a scavenger passage connected to a branching scavenger passage opened to said scavenging port. The engine has a connecting passage to link the air passage and the fuel passages so that negative pressure in the air passage forces the fuel-air mixture in the fuel passage into said air passage. Further, the engine according to this invention has a removable guide with a surface forming a curved smooth channel which is attachable to the scavenger passage in the crankcase from the mounting surface, and forms a portion of said scavenger passage with the curved channel. The blow-up angle of the scavenger passage varies along the circumferential direction of the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 6210137
Abstract: A scroll fluid machine having a lubrication pump provided between sliding contact surfaces of an orbiting scroll member and a thrust bearing in a casing. The pump has an orbiting member accommodating recess provided in the sliding contact surface of the thrust bearing. An orbiting member projects from the sliding contact surface of the orbiting scroll member into the recess. A slide plate defines a suction chamber and a discharge chamber in the recess. As the orbiting scroll member orbits, the orbiting member orbits in the recess, causing a lubricant contained in the casing to be sucked from a suction passage and delivered to the inside of a boss portion accommodating an orbiting bearing.

  • Patent number: 5924400
Abstract: In a portable engine using a fuel gas within a cassette type gas bomb or canister, an engine body is provided with a lubricating oil supply for supplying a lubricating oil from an air intake port side. The supply means has a fixed quantity discharging type lubricating oil pump housed in a separation chamber between a side wall of a crankcase of the body. A recoil starter is disposed beside the side wall and a plunger is directly driven by a crank shaft. A discharge piping system has a throttle tube for controlling a flow amount and communicates between an air intake tube connected to the air intake port and a discharge port of the pump. Furthermore, there is a lubricating oil tank, a suction piping system communicating between the tank and the suction port of the pump, and a return piping system communicating the discharge side of the pump and the tank.

  • Patent number: 5918574
Abstract: In a compact gas engine using a liquefied gas for a fuel, a gas canister holder for holding a fuel gas canister is provided. The gas canister holder includes a case having a gas canister outlet and inlet port and a cap axially engaged with the gas canister outlet and inlet port of the case. A pusher brought into contact with an end surface of the gas canister outlet and inlet port of the case and brought into contact with an end surface of the gas canister attached to an inner portion of the case is disposed between the case and the cap. A spring for urging the pusher and the cap in a direction taking these apart from each other is provided between the pusher and the cap. Accordingly, even when the gas canister is not attached within the case, the urging force is applied to the cap by the pusher and the spring, so as to prevent the cap from being disengaged with the case.

  • Patent number: 5813843
Abstract: In the scroll-type fluidic machine according to the present invention, a slider is slidably disposed between a casing and a rear surface of a orbiting scroll member, and a sliding movement of the slider relative to the casing and the orbiting scroll member is regulated to two (X-axis and Y-axis) directions by means of X-axis and Y-axis guides. Balls received in through holes of the slider are formed from material harder than that of the slider and are rollingly contacted with a slide surface of a flange portion of the casing and a slide surface of a rear plate of the orbiting scroll member. The through holes are filled with grease. The balls are adapted to roll smoothly, thereby greatly decreasing frictional resistance between surfaces of the slider and the slide surfaces of the casing and the orbiting scroll member.

  • Patent number: 5803723
Abstract: A wrap of an orbiting scroll member and a wrap of a fixed scroll member are each provided with a non-rigid surface coating layer having a predetermined thickness. An orbiting radius varying mechanism is provided between a driving shaft and the orbiting scroll member, thereby gradually increasing the orbiting radius of the orbiting scroll member at the initial stage of running, and thus positively allowing the surface coating layers to wear by rubbing against each other. A stopper mechanism is provided between the driving shaft and the orbiting scroll member to regulate the rotation angle of a variable crank relative to the driving shaft to a predetermined rotation angle, thereby preventing the surface coating layers from being excessively worn as the orbiting radius of the orbiting scroll member increases.

  • Patent number: 5775888
Abstract: A scroll fluid machine includes a fixed scroll member having an end plate which is formed such that a central portion of the end plate which corresponds approximately to 1.5 to 2 turns of a wrap portion from its spiral starting end (innermost end) is a thick-walled portion having a relatively large plate thickness, and an outer peripheral portion of the end plate which lies radially outside the thick-walled portion is a thin-walled portion. The thickness of the thick-walled portion is set to be about 1.4 to 1.6 times the thickness of the thin-walled portion. By reducing thermal resistance at the thick-walled portion of the end plate, heat from compression chambers are conducted to radiating fins, thereby suppressing the transfer of the heat to the thin-walled portion.

  • Patent number: 5776446
Abstract: Lymphotoxin-producing human T-cell hybridomas are incubated in a medium containing phorbol myristate acetate, concanavalin-A or a mixture thereof, the resulting cells are fractionated by sucrose density-gradient centrifugation method to isolate a messenger RNA in 12.6S to 14.6S fractions, and a gene containing a part encoding a polypeptide having a lymphotoxin-activity is prepared from the messenger RNA. The gene is represented by the base sequence of the Table 1 as herein given. Using the present gene, a new lymphotoxin having the amino acid sequence (I) or (II) as given herein can be obtained by genetic engineering technology.

  • Patent number: 5723048
Abstract: A method of anaerobic digestion of sewage sludge including the steps of subjecting surplus sludge to preliminary heat treatment at 60.degree. C. or higher, dewatering the surplus sludge to make dewatered sludge of 10 to 25% by weight, mixing the dewatered sludge with digested sludge which is taken out from a methane fermentation vessel of dewatered sludge, and supplying the resulting mixture to the methane fermentation vessel of dewatered sludge while discarding digested sludge whose amount is equal to that of the dewatered sludge supplied. According to the method, the sewage sludge containing a large quantity of surplus sludge is subjected to preliminary heat treatment, and then the heat-treated sludge is dewatered to permit a nitrogenous component to be transferred to eliminated water whereby the nitrogenous component in the dewatered sludge can be reduced. The resulting dewatered sludge can stably undergo methane fermentation even at a high concentration of 10 to 25% by weight.
