  • Patent number: 6829564
Abstract: There is disclosed an apparatus for supporting evaluation of usability of an instrument relative to performing a given task. During performing of the task, a control unit acquires information of an operation log related to an operation performed by a user, and evaluates an effectiveness index associated with achievement of the task, efficiency index associated with efficiency, and satisfaction index associated with subjective satisfaction of the user. The indexes are generated by a statistical calculation using a plurality of measured items, including the operation log information.

  • Publication number: 20040075685
Abstract: There is disclosed an apparatus for supporting evaluation of usability in consideration of situations particular to each business and ISO evaluation standards. The usability evaluation support apparatus uses an instrument including a display portion for displaying information, and supports the evaluation of usability in achieving a given task. During acieve of the task, a control unit acquires information of an operation log related to an operation performed by a user, and divides an effectiveness index associated with achievement of the task, efficiency index associated with efficiency for the achievement, and satisfaction index associated with subjective satisfaction of a task achiever for each predefined subtask. The unit evaluates the indexes by a statistical calculation using measurement results of a plurality of measurement items including the information of the operation log for each subtask.

  • Patent number: 5978522
Abstract: An image processing apparatus applied to an image processing system wherein a plurality of image input units and a plurality of image output units are used. A spatial frequency characteristic conversion section receives a spatial frequency characteristic in a preparation process of image data from an image input unit or its driver and a spatial frequency characteristic of a selected image output unit from an output device information storage section. An ideal transfer characteristic of the whole system is previously stored in the spatial frequency characteristic conversion section and a transfer function of the spatial frequency characteristic conversion section itself is set so as to realize the ideal transfer characteristic.

  • Patent number: 5832136
Abstract: Noise that is hard for human vision to perceive and corresponds to the kind of an original document is superimposed on an input image signal by an amount corresponding to the kind of the original document. More specifically, a noise selection circuit selects a spatial frequency characteristic and an amplification value table that conform to the kind of an original document. Based on the selected characteristic and table, a noise amount calculation circuit calculates a noise amount corresponding to the image signal. A noise superimposing circuit superimposes the noise thus generated on the image signal.

  • Patent number: 5557429
Abstract: An image signal processing apparatus for converting an image data signal input by an image input terminal into another image data signal suitable for an image output terminal. In the apparatus, a quantity of noise of a spatial frequency characteristic difficult to visually perceive is generated in accordance with a level of the input image data signal, and the noise generated is superposed on the input image data signal. In handling a color image data signal, the noise is superposed on the color image data signal in a regional color space difficult to visually perceive.
