  • Patent number: 6460942
Abstract: When a normal braking is performed, a master cylinder (32) and wheel cylinders (44FR, 44FL, 44RR, 44RL) are set to a conducting state. When an emergency braking is performed, the master cylinder and the wheel cylinders are joined together so that a large brake force can be generated. If the wheel cylinders are connected to an accumulator soon after the emergency braking, an increase in the wheel cylinder pressure can be prevented. Even after the emergency braking, the wheel cylinders and the master cylinder are maintained in the conducting state while the master cylinder pressure is rapidly increasing.

  • Patent number: 6227629
Abstract: A brake force control apparatus is provided which generates a brake force larger than that of a normal time when an emergency braking is required, and realizes an operational feel giving no incongruous feel. It is determined whether or not an emergency braking operation was performed in accordance with a master cylinder pressure PM/C and a rate of change &Dgr;PM/C thereof. A plurality of start conditions (100, 112, 118) are set by assuming various conditions. A brake assist control is started (114) when a start condition selected in accordance with a state of motion of a vehicle is satisfied.

  • Patent number: 6219601
Abstract: A vehicle height adjust control apparatus and method adjusts an actual vehicle height to a target vehicle height using a microcomputer that controls an electric motor, leveling valves and an accumulator valve on the basis of the actual vehicle height detected by vehicle height sensors, so as to eliminate any deviation of the actual vehicle height from the target vehicle height. If a hydraulic fluid temperature detected by a fluid temperature sensor is very low or very high, the microcomputer suspends the vehicle height adjusting control and the supply of hydraulic fluid to an accumulator by stopping the operation of the electric motor and a hydraulic pump and/or switching the valves to a closed state. The suspending control thereby prevents very high and low viscosities of the hydraulic fluid, or very low and high fluidities thereof, which prevent an undesirable increase of the load on the hydraulic pump and an undesirable decrease of the ejecting performance thereof.

  • Patent number: 6202010
Abstract: A vehicle height adjust control apparatus and method precisely performs vehicle height adjustment while preventing unnecessary vehicle height adjustment. In the apparatus, a microcomputer compares the amount of shift of a vehicle height detected by a vehicle height sensor with a first predetermined value. If the amount of shift is greater than the first predetermined value, the microcomputer integrates the amount of shift. The integral of the amount of shift is compared with a second predetermined value. If the integral is greater than the second predetermined value, the microcomputer determines that vehicle height adjustment should be started. The first and/or second predetermined values used in an initial period immediately after an engine is started are smaller than the first and/or second predetermined values used after the initial period.

  • Patent number: 6189986
Abstract: A braking force control apparatus adapted to generate a braking force, which is larger than that generated in a regular case, when a predetermined braking operation is carried out, this apparatus aiming at preventing the occurrence of an unnecessarily large sensible deceleration during a low-speed travel of a vehicle. ECU (10) is adapted to judge whether or not an emergency braking operation has been executed on the basis of a master cylinder pressure (Pmc) and its rate of change (dPmc). When a judgement that an emergency braking operation has been carried out is given, a wheel cylinder pressure (Pwc) is quickly increased by supplying an accumulator pressure to the wheel cylinder. When a vehicle speed exceeds a predetermined level during the execution of the emergency braking operation, the wheel cylinder pressure (Pwc) is speedily increased (116, 118) by a braking assist regular control operation.

  • Patent number: 6129423
Abstract: In a brake force control apparatus selectively performing a brake assist (BA) control for generating a brake force greater than that of a normal control time, an unnecessary restart of the BA control immediately after the BA control is terminated is prevented. The BA control is terminated when it is determined that an emergency braking is unnecessary since a master cylinder pressure (PM/C) has been reduced to a value less than a predetermined value. A restart of the BA control which is caused by a sharp change in the master cylinder pressure (PM/C) and a rate of change (.DELTA.PM/C) thereof due to a rapid decrease in a fluid pressure when the BA control is terminated is prohibited until a predetermined time has been passed after the BA control was terminated.

  • Patent number: 5717200
Abstract: A projector projects an image. A scanning mirror deflects the projected image by mirror oscillation method. A reading device reads the projected image deflected by said scanning mirror and outputs an image data corresponding to the projected image. A discriminating device discriminates which projection lens is mounted on said projection lens mount among said plurality of lenses. A memory device stores respective distortion data of said plurality of projection lenses and distortion data concerned with a distortion being due to the oscillation method. A correcting device corrects distortion of the distortion data of the projection lens which is discriminated to be mounted on the projection lens mount and the distortion data concerned with a distortion being due to the oscillation method.

  • Patent number: 5657135
Abstract: The image reading apparatus of this invention reads a desired image out of an original document with a CCD 1, edits a desired area of the thus read image with an edit processing part 4, and causes the edited area to be copied without being subjected to negative-positive inversion. The edit processing part 4 sets an optimum density severally for an area requiring negative-positive inversion and for an area not requiring negative-positive inversion. Thus, necessary information existing in the area of image and the area outside the image can be printed out without causing the formation of a completely black frame and density of the print can be optimized without discrimination between these areas.

  • Patent number: 5430550
Abstract: In an image reader a frame image of a microfilm is projected on a line sensor with a projection lens and read. The projection lens is movable in the main scanning direction by a driving motor. The line sensor is movable in the subscanning direction by a driving motor. The line sensor is moved in the subscanning direction to apply preliminary scanning and detect positional deviation in the main scanning direction of the projected image, and the projection lens is moved in the main scanning direction corresponding to quantity of the positional deviation. When the frame image is inclined, it is rotated relatively to the main scanning direction by a prism to correct the inclination, and the projection lens is moved in the main scanning direction thereafter to correct positional deviation in the same direction.

  • Patent number: 5172939
Abstract: In causing a pressure head portion on the terminal of a branch pipe to be abutted and tightly pressed against a pressure receiving bearing surface formed in a through hole in a high-pressure fuel rail, the pressure bearing surface is formed in the shape of a spherical surface having a curvature radius (.gamma.) of 0.4D to 10D, wherein D is the diameter of the branch pipe. Since the branch pipe has such a spherical pressure bearing surface, a uniform surface pressure can be obtained should the branch pipe be installed in an inclined state, and such an inclination or eccentricity can be rectified by the shapes of the pressure receiving bearing surface and the pressure bearing surface to provide a uniform surface pressure.
