  • Publication number: 20050230297
Abstract: An intermittently-moving-head or simulated-moving-bed chromatographic separator capable of stably maintaining purities of separated components, wherein a loop path (16) is formed by connecting four or more columns (14) to one another. Feed liquid material containing component-A and component-C and liquid eluent are injected into the loop path (16), followed by circulating the same in the loop path (16). A density detector (54) is disposed in the loop path (16) at a position adjacent to a component-A extraction valve (41), to detect the component density in the loop path (16) during the circulation step. When the density of the components reaches a reference density or higher, it is judged that component-A and component-C of the feed liquid material are separated from each other and the process moves from the circulation step to a next component extraction step.

  • Patent number: 6500342
Abstract: A chromatographic separator allows a feed liquid material consisting of two or more than two components and a liquid eluent to circulate within an endless circular path 16, wherein columns 14 are coupled to one another, to separate the feed liquid material into two components. The selector valves 23 and 33 are switched to allow pumps 20 and 30 to serve to circulate the fluid through the circular path 16 and to inject each liquid from the tanks 25 and 35. Furthermore, an ordinary ON/OFF valve is used as discharge valves 41 and 51 for each of the liquids and thus the pressure specification required for the circular path 16 is reduced.

  • Patent number: 6471859
Abstract: The rotary member (12) of the rotary valve (10) includes columns (separation vessels) (14) coupled to each other to form an endless circular path (16) and rotates to separate components A and C from a feed liquid material containing two or more components. A concentration sensor (17) is connected to a tube (141) that connects between columns (14) and is mounted on the rotary member (12) rotatably in unison with the columns (14) to detect the concentration of the component A flowing in the circular path (16). Based on the detected result of the concentration sensor (17), fine tuning of the timing of start and the time length of each step can be effected, thereby providing an improved separation performance for the chromatographic separator.

  • Patent number: 6369674
Abstract: In a longitudinally coupled multi-mode surface acoustic wave filter, for the purpose of setting a stop band width of reflectors to a proper width according to a required filter, since a line occupation rate of the reflectors has been made smaller than a line occupation rate of an IDT electrode, and respective periods of the reflector and the IDT electrode are set properly such that the stop band width of the reflector and the band width of the longitudinally coupled multi-mode surface acoustic wave filter have been approximately equal to each other, means for broadening the band of the longitudinally coupled multi-mode SAW filter can be obtained for a broad-band RF filter of a portable telephone used in a new system.

  • Patent number: 6356321
Abstract: A press plate has a frame portion in contact with the top surface of a liquid crystal display panel, a plurality of legs having engagement hook at the distal end thereof, and a first rib and rubber connector holding portions which hold a rubber connector therebetween in contact with the back surface of the frame portion. When the respective legs are inserted into fixing holes in a circuit board while the liquid crystal display panel is in contact with the back face of the frame portion and the rubber connector is inserted between a first rib and the rubber connector holding portions, the engagement hooks are caught by the fixing holes in the circuit board while the rubber connector is collapsed. Thereby, the liquid crystal display panel is fixed to the circuit board, by which the falling and shift of position of the rubber connector can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 6038950
Abstract: A cutting device cuts a flat tube in such a manner that a locus connecting each point where a blade tip of a blade portion of the cutting device is firstly introduced into the flat tube passes through a base portion of a frontmost side protrusion portion. Therefore, the bending moment generated due to a cutting force of the cutting device is decreased to prevent defective cutting.

  • Patent number: 5894089
Abstract: A liquid level indicator has a transparent vessel for retaining hot water therein and a thermo-sensitive tape (thermo-tape) attached at a side wall of the vessel with the sensing side of the thermo-tape facing the side wall of the vessel. The thermo-tape first exhibits black, then turns white after the hot water is poured into the vessel. When the thermo-tape is pressed against a partially filled liquid container, the thermo-tape turns black at one side of a boundary and turns white at the other side of the boundary that defines the liquid/gas interface in the container. This occurs because the liquid in the container cools the thermo-tape more rapidly than the gas in the container does. The boundary is observed through the walls of the transparent vessel and the hot water to detect the liquid level within the container.

  • Patent number: 5875668
Abstract: According to the present invention, a roll forming method includes a first roll forming process for forming a trapezoidal projecting portion at a center portion, a second roll forming process for gradually narrowing an upper side of the trapezoidal projecting portion to form a turnup projecting portion, a third roll forming process for forming perpendicularly folded portions at both sides, and a fourth roll forming process for folding a middle portion between the perpendicularly folded portion and the turnup projecting portion in a semi-circular shape. In this way, it is possible to form a turnup projecting portion, insides of which are closely contacted to each other with a curvature which is larger than the conventional curvature, with high speed.

  • Patent number: 5868817
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for efficiently dephosphorizing, dephosphorizing and decarbonizing, or desulfurizing, dephosphorizing and decarbonizing a hot metal in a converter. The amount of flux to be charged and the amount of bottom-blown gas are adjusted so that the bottom-blowing agitation power and the CaO/SiO.sub.2 ratio subsequent to the treatment become at least 0.1 kW/ton and from 0.7 to 2.5, respectively and the hot metal temperature at the treatment end point becomes from 1,200.degree. to 1,450.degree. C. Furthermore, the operation of the process is controlled so that the sum of a T.Fe concentration and a MnO concentration in the slag subsequent to the treatment becomes from 10 to 35% by weight by adjusting the top-blown oxygen feed rate, the flow rate of bottom-blown gas or the top-blowing lance height.
