  • Patent number: 6740283
Abstract: A molding system and related method for forming a molded article, such as a container, is disclosed. In one embodiment, the injection material is supplied though a side gate and drawn into the mold cavity using a vacuum assist and optional heating of the mold portions, if necessary. This creates a preform having a closed end with a smooth outer surface without gate marks or other vestiges of the injection molding process. The preform is then blow molded to form an article or container having a smooth outer surface adjacent to a closed end thereof.

  • Publication number: 20040031803
Abstract: A double container, structure for use in forming a double container, and related method are disclosed. The double container may be formed by connecting first and second open-ended containers in a generally opposed relationship. In the preferred embodiment, pairs of matching projections extend from the end wall of each container. One or both projections on one container may include a melting area or region that is placed in contact with the corresponding projection on the opposite container. Ultrasonic energy is then supplied to melt the melting area or region as the containers are pressed together. Upon solidification, a bond is thus formed between the projections to create the double container. In a second embodiment, an intermediate structure for receiving a second container is attached to the first container, such as by ultrasonic welding.

  • Patent number: 6270868
Abstract: A composite plastic container is formed by blow molding a body from a plastic parison into a base having a bottom, side walls and an open top, which includes an upper annular edge. A peripheral shoulder defines the upper portion of the body. The double side walls and bottom are relatively thick for strength and stability; the bottom also including a substantially solid rim in alignment with the annular edge for enhanced stability. A central opening in the bottom forms a plastic plug to anchor the bottom to the base. The lip of the shoulder mates and substantially covers the annular edge forming a smooth, rounded interface in the preferred embodiment. The peripheral lip can mate in other ways with the annular edge. Other features include an insert label and a protrusion in a side wall to form a window.

  • Patent number: 5981409
Abstract: A fabric is provided which exhibits a high dust collecting efficiency and which is superior in both waterproofness and abrasion resistance, and which is especially suitable for us in dust proof and/or waterproof clothes. The fabric is a plain weave fabric of synthetic filaments, wherein warp yarns occupy 60% to 90% of the fabric surface, a percent (%) overlap of the width (L2+L3) of overlapped portions of adjacent warp yarns relative to the width (L1) of an overlapped portion of adjacent warp yarns in a section of the fabric, i.e., ((L2+L3)/L1).times.100 is in the range of 35% to 60%, and weft yarns of the fabric are located inside the warps in the thickness direction of the fabric.

  • Patent number: 5874141
Abstract: A plastic container is formed by injection and blow molding wherein the injection molded body has an annular shoulder, an upper neck and a bottom wall with a central flat portion of substantially the same thickness as the wall of said body. An enlarged annular corner portion connects the bottom wall to the body and extends downwardly. The annular corner is sufficiently thick so as to form a substantially solid rim after bi-axial stretching during blow molding. The plastic parison for forming the container includes a body with an annular shoulder and an upper neck and also with the bottom wall having a central flat portion of substantially the same thickness as the body. The enlarged annular corner portion of the parison also connects to the body and extends downwardly to form a substantially solid rim. The thickness of the annular corner is sufficient to keep the annular corner from having a cavity formed in it during bi-axial stretching.

  • Patent number: 5653627
Abstract: A diamond drill consists of a core and a pair of abrasive diamond tips which are joined to constitute a diamond tip and core assembly in the form of a flat plate. The diamond tips have chamfering sections for providing a cutting blade of a diameter smaller than that of a cutting blade provided by finishing blade sections thereof. The chamfering sections can be used not only for chamfering an edge of a glass plate defining an opening but for cutting a non-circular opening. In another embodiment, an abrasive diamond ring is installed on a shank and used for chamfering an edge of a glass plate defining an opening or for cutting a non-circular opening having a small corner.

  • Patent number: 5026978
Abstract: A light projecting circuit of a photoelectric switch includes a light projecting element (2), a driver circuit (1, 3) for driving the light projecting element by use of pulses, and a change-over switch (4) for increasing or for decreasing an amount of light emitted from the light projecting element. With this provision, in an operation to adjust optical axes, the change-over switch can be used to increase the amount of the emitted light. Consequently, the position of the projected light beam can be easily confirmed.

  • Patent number: 4633883
Abstract: The ultrasonic diagnostic equipment in accordance with the present invention is constructed so as to detect the phase shift of the received signal of an ultrasonic wave transmitted by an ultrasonic transducer and reflected by an object in order to find the hologram signal for the object, and to obtain the reconstructed data for the object by carrying out the synthetic aperture operation by using the hologram signal and a kernel signal, and furthermore, it is arranged so as to detect the variations in the maximum amplitude value of the reconstructed result by varying the kernel signal relative to the hologram signal of the object, and to find the velocity of the ultrasonic wave from the kernel signal that gives rise to the largest maximum value of the amplitude.
