  • Patent number: 10338533
Abstract: A wristwatch including a watch case, a bezel mounted to rotate on the watch case, and a dial including at least one luminous index. The luminous index is illuminated through the dial by at least one light source disposed underneath the dial and powered by an electrical energy source. An activation component for activating the light source is housed inside the rotating dial and cooperates with a detection element housed inside the watch case. The activation component, in a determined position of the rotating bezel, detects presence of the activation component by the detection element. The detection element then emits an electrical signal addressed to a microprocessor circuit housed inside the watch case. The microprocessor circuit emits in response to reception of the electrical signal emitted by the detection element an electrical signal that activates lighting of the light source for a determined period of time.

  • Patent number: 10267653
Abstract: A position sensor and method for determining an axial and/or an angular position of a setting stem of a timepiece. A magnet is provided on the setting stem, and at least one magnetic field sensor is configured to detect changes in magnetic field strength along at least a first axis and a second axis as the rotatable element rotates; the second axis is not parallel to the first axis. The changing magnetic field sensed by the magnetic sensor is converted into a characteristic signature path which may then be mapped onto a circular signature path in two dimensions to derive the angular position of the setting stem.

  • Patent number: 10041813
Abstract: A capacitive sensor to determine instantaneous angular position of a rotatable element in a timepiece, such as a setting stem of a wristwatch. Static electrodes are configured to form, in conjunction with rotor electrodes of the rotatable element, a first differential capacitance pair and a second differential capacitance pair. A sensor calculation unit is configured to sense difference values from the differential capacitances pairs and to evaluate the angular position of the rotatable element from the difference values using predetermined information relating the differential capacitance values to angular position values.
