Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] This invention relates to a pail structure and particularly an improved pail structure that is capable of completely empty liquid contained therein and protecting the pail lid from opening or damaging during transportation and does not have riveting hanging lugs on the wall for enhancing pail body strength and has a plastic lining for preventing the pail from rusting.

[0002] A conventional pail container (as shown in FIG. 1) usually has a concave seam extended inward at the top opening. When to empty goods (liquid) contained inside, there is always some residual remain inside and cannot be completely discharged from the pail. It would result in waste of goods and also tends to make the pail become rustic because of the residual liquid remain inside. Furthermore, the pail usually has to solder or rivet hanging lugs at the outer wall to engage with handle. The spot soldering or riveting might cause defect of the pail and result in poor production yield.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0003] In view of aforesaid disadvantages, it is therefore an object of this invention to provide an improved pail structure that can completely empty the goods contained inside so that there is no waste of goods and the pail will have less probability of getting rustic.

[0004] Another object of this invention is to provide an improved pail that has pail lid covered by a protection cover for preventing the pail lid from opening or damaging during transportation.

[0005] A further object of this invention is to provide a pail that supports handles without soldering or riveting external lugs on the wall so that the pail may be made with a stronger body and is less likely to result in defect and maintain high production yield.

[0006] Still another object of this invention is to add a plastic lining to the pail so that goods contained inside won't be contaminated by rust of the pail such that the goods may be conserved for a longer period of time.

[0007] In one aspect, the pail according to this invention has more than one stepwise flange and ring extended upward and outward at the top opening to form a sturdy pail opening for engaging with the pail lid and protection cover. A plastic lining is disposed to match snugly with the inside wall of the pail so that goods contained in the pail may be emptied completely and may also be conserved for a longer time once contained inside.

[0008] In another aspect, a circular lid is provided to engage with the top end of the pail. The circular lid has curved tenons formed at the circumference each has an elongated ridge and a triangle member to engage with the flange and ring, and lugs for supporting handles so that there is no need to solder or rivet handle lugs on the outer wall of the pail. The pail thus is less likely to be damaged. Defect production of the pail may be reduced and result in lower production cost.

[0009] In still another aspect, a protection cover is provided which has an opening ring and a tongue shaped tab linking to perforation lines to facilitate opening of the pail lid when in use.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0015] FIG. 5 is a top view of a lid and protection cover of this invention.

[0016] FIG. 6 is a sectional view of the lid and protection cover shown in FIG. 5.

[0017] FIG. 7 is a sectional view of this invention.

[0018] FIG. 8 is a perspective view of this invention, showing the protective cover is to be torn off.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0020] Referring to FIGS. 2 and 3, the pail 1 according to this invention includes a bottom end 10 engaged with a substantially conical side wall and a top end 11 which has a larger diameter than the bottom end 10. At the top end 12, there is an annular flange 12 extended horizontally outward, an annular ring 13 extended upward and tilted slightly outward, a top rim 130 extended outward from the top edge of the ring 13 then fold downward to form a first edge rim 131. Inside the pail 1, there is a plastic lining 2 closely encased within the inner walls of the pail 1. The plastic lining 2 also has a stepwise top end closely contacted with the top end 11 and forms a second edge rim 20 outside the first edge rim 131. Then there is a wedge ring 3 fixedly engaged with the top end of the plastic lining and has an annular upper ring 30 and a lower ring 32 to make contact respectively with the inner top circumference of the plastic lining 2 opposite to the ring 30 and flange 12, and a third edge rim 31 to shroud the second edge rim 20 from outside. Hence the pail 1, plastic lining 2 and wedge ring 3 are engaged integrally together to form a tight compartment inside (also shown in FIG. 4) and a sturdy top opening 14 for the pail 1.

[0021] Referring to FIGS. 5 and 6, above the top end of the pail 1, there is a circular lid 4 made from a soft material. The lid 4 has two lugs 40 formed at two opposite sides of the outer rim. The lugs 40 engage respectively with one end of a right handle 41 and a left handle 42. The right handle 41 has an arched middle section 410 and a hook 411 formed in the middle section 410. The left handle 42 also has an arched middle section 420 and an aperture 421 formed in the middle section 420 for engaging with the hook 411. The lid 4 further has a plurality of arched shaped tenons 43 equally spaced around the circumference and extended downward to engage with the bottom side of the flange 12. Each tenon 43 has an elongated ridge 430 located at the upper section, a triangle member 431 located at a lower section which has a slant side and a rectangular wedge block 44 located at the center and upper section for engaging with the bottom side of the flange 12. At the circumference of the lid 4 at transverse diagonal location, there are arch shaped members 45 each has a rectangular upper section and a taper lower section and a protrusive slant member 46 located in the center thereof projecting inward. Along an arched line running cross the arch shaped members 45 and tenons 43, there is a first perforation line 47 integrally formed with a protection cover 5 located thereabove. The protection cover 5 has longitudinal and transverse ribs 50, and an opening ring 53 which has a tongue shaped tab 51 integrally formed with a second perforation line 52 which in turn links the first perforation line 47.

[0022] Referring to FIGS. 7 and 8, when this invention is in use, pry the opening ring 53 to tear the second perforation line 52 then to tear the first perforation line 47 whereby to open the pail cover 15. When not in use, close the pail cover 15, and lift the handles 41 and 42 to engage the hook 411 with the aperture 421, the two handles 41 and 42 may be juxtaposed together (shown in FIG. 9) to facilitate carrying of the pail 1. As there is no soldering or riveting for lugs on the peripheral side of the pail 1 for supporting the handles 41 and 42, the pail 1 may be made with less defect and thus may maintain high production yield. The protection cover 5 will prevent the pail lid 15 from being pried open during transportation or carrying, and thus keeps the goods held in the pail 1 securely without pouring out.
