Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to a packaging bag, and more particularly, the present invention relates to a packaging bag to which a carrying handle is attached to allow the packaging bag to be easily carried, and in which a zipper or zippers are installed adjacent to an upper end and/or a lower end of the packaging bag to enable the packaging bag to be rapidly and easily opened and closed.

[0003] 2. Description of the Related Art

[0004] Generally, as an example, a packaging bag is disclosed in the art which is manufactured by laminating a multitude of papers one over another and has a window formed of transparent synthetic resin. Since the packaging bag is made using papers, a manufacturing cost is raised. Further, because the synthetic resin for the window should be separated from the papers upon recycling the packaging bag, bothersomeness is caused.

[0005] Also, as another example, a packaging bag is well known in the art, which is made, as a whole, of a transparent synthetic resinous material to allow a consumer to easily confirm contents of the packaging bag therethrough. However, due to the fact that this packaging bag is made of the synthetic resin to have a single-layered structure, toughness thereof is comparatively low, and since a separate carrying handle is not provided to the packaging bag, inconvenience cannot but be experienced upon carrying the packaging bag. Moreover, in the case that packaging bags of this type which accommodate food items, grains or powdered substances, are piled one upon another, due to a low frictional coefficient of the synthetic resinous material, they are likely to slide one on another.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] Accordingly, the present invention has been made in an effort to solve the problems occurring in the related art, and an object of the present invention is to provide a packaging bag which is made of transparent synthetic resin in such a way as to define a double-layered structure, thereby to improve toughness of the packaging bag and allow a consumer to easily confirm contents of the packaging bag, to which a separate carrying handle is attached to enable easy carrying and handling of the packaging bag, and which has attached to a side thereof a nonwoven fabric possessing a high frictional coefficient, whereby, when packaging bags accommodating grains are piled one upon another, they are prevented from sliding one on another.

[0007] In order to achieve the above object, according to the present invention, there is provided a packaging bag comprising: a cylindrical bag body member having a double-layered structure which is formed by an inner sheet and an outer sheet; and a carrying handle member inserted into and fastened to an upper end of the bag body member.

[0008] Preferably, the carrying handle member may comprise a transversely extending elongate bar which is inserted into and fastened to the upper end of the bag body member and a handle which projects upward from substantially a center portion of the elongate bar.

[0009] Preferably, the carrying handle member may be made of a synthetic resinous material.

[0010] Preferably, the cylindrical bag body member may have a pair of seaming portions which correspond to both side ends thereof and extend in a longitudinal direction, and an inner tape and an outer tape may be attached to inner surfaces and outer surfaces of the seam, respectively.

[0011] Preferably, the inner and outer tapes may be made of a nonwoven fabric which possesses a high frictional coefficient.

[0012] Preferably, the inner sheet may be made of linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), and the outer sheet may be made of one selected from a group consisting of nylon, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), LLDPE, paper, polyethylene, and a lamination of at least two of them.

[0013] Preferably, the upper end of the bag body member may be sealed by heat fusion after the carrying handle member is inserted therein, and a lower end of the bag body member may be sealed by heat fusion.

[0014] Preferably, a zipper or zippers may be attached to the upper end and/or the lower end of the bag body member.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0022] Reference will now be made in greater detail to a preferred embodiment of the invention, an example of which is illustrated in the accompanying drawings. Wherever possible, the same reference numerals will be used throughout the drawings and the description to refer to the same or like parts.

[0023] FIG. 1a is an exploded perspective view illustrating a packaging bag in accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention; and FIG. 1b is a front view illustrating the packaging bag suitable for packaging grains.

[0024] As shown in FIG. 1a, a packaging bag according to the present invention includes a cylindrical bag body member 10. The cylindrical bag body member 10 is formed by laminating an inner sheet 10a and an outer sheet 10b which are made of synthetic resin. Both side ends of the bag body member 10 define a pair of seaming portions 10e which extend in a longitudinal direction. An inner tape 30a and an outer tape 30b are attached to inner surfaces and outer surfaces of the pair of seaming portions 10e, respectively. In this way, the cylindrical bag body member 10 which is opened at upper and lower ends 10c and 10d thereof can be formed. While any tapes can be employed as the inner and outer tapes 30a and 30b so long as they have a sufficient bonding strength, it is preferable to employ a tape which is made of a nonwoven fabric possessing a high frictional coefficient.

[0025] After a carrying handle member 20 is inserted into the upper end 10c of the cylindrical bag body member 10 formed as described above, the upper end 10c is sealed by heat fusion. And, the lower end 10d of the cylindrical bag body member 10 is also sealed by heat fusion. The carrying handle member 20 has a transversely extending elongate bar 20b which is inserted into and fastened to the upper end 10c of the bag body member 10 and a handle 20a which projects upward from substantially a center portion of the elongate bar 20b. In this regard, it is preferred that the carrying handle member 20 is made of a synthetic resinous material to be easily attached to the upper end 10c of the bag body member 10 by heat fusion.

[0026] FIG. 2 is a partial enlarged perspective view illustrating the carrying handle member 20 of the packaging bag shown in FIG. 1b. In FIG. 2, it is best illustrated that the inner tape 30a and the outer tape 30b are attached to the inner and outer surfaces of the pair of seaming portions 10e to define a cylindrical shape of the bag body member 10 which is composed of the inner and outer sheets 10a and 10b. Also, it is illustrated in FIG. 2 that the elongate bar 20b of the carrying handle member 20 is attached to the upper end 10c of the bag body member 10 by heat fusion. In FIG. 2, the drawing reference numeral 20a represents the handle which has a semi-circular configuration.

[0027] It is preferred that the inner sheet 10a which constitutes the bag body member 10 is made of linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), and the outer sheet 10b which also constitutes the bag body member 10 is made of one selected from a group consisting of nylon, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), LLDPE, paper, polyethylene, and a lamination of at least two of them. At this time, the paper may have a weight per unit area of no less than 50 g/m2, and the polyethylene may have a thickness of no less than 20 microns. Further, the lamination may be formed by PET, nylon and LLDPE.

[0028] FIGS. 3a through 3c are front views illustrating states wherein a zipper or zippers are attached adjacent to an upper end and/or a lower end of the packaging bag in accordance with second through fourth embodiments of the present invention. The zipper 40 can be attached to the packaging bag by stitching or heat fusion depending upon a material thereof. If the zipper 40 is made of synthetic resin, it is preferred that the zipper 40 is attached to the packaging bag by heat fusion. If the zipper 40 is made of fiber, it is preferred that the zipper 40 is attached to the packaging bag by stitching.

[0029] As a result, the packaging bag according to the present invention provides advantages in that, since the packaging hag is made of transparent synthetic resin in such a way as to have a double-layered structure, toughness is improved in comparison with the conventional packaging bag which is made of synthetic resin to have a single-layered structure.

[0030] Further, because a separate carrying handle is attached to the packaging bag, carrying and handling of the packaging bag are made easy.

[0031] Moreover, due to the fact that a nonwoven fabric tape possessing a high frictional coefficient is attached to a side of the packaging bag, when piling one upon another packaging bags which accommodate food items, grains such as rice, barley or the like, or powders such as sugar, flour or the like, the packaging bags are prevented from sliding one on another. Furthermore, by the presence of the nonwoven fabric tape, toughness of the packaging bag is further improved.
