Packaging and packaging material

A packaging for safe storage of receipts, tickets or the like that is formed by a sheet that in the folded position has a bottom 4, two side flaps 3 arranged at opposite sides of the bottom 4 and folded against the first side of the bottom 4. A top flap 7 is folded over the bottom 4 and the side flaps 3 and arranged at the bottom 4 along one edge between the side flaps 3 and a locking flap 8 arranged at a free end of the top flap 7. The free end of the bottom 4 has a slit 5 through which the locking flap 8 is inserted from the first side of the bottom 4 to its second side so that the locking flap 8 is folded about the free end of the bottom 4 over the top flap 7 and inserted into a slit 6 arranged at the free end of the top flap.

Description
TECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present invention relates to a packaging for safe storage of receipts, tickets and a packaging material therefor. More particularly, the packaging is formed by a sheet that in the folded position has a bottom, two side flaps arranged at opposite sides of the bottom and folded against the first side of the bottom, a top flap is folded over the bottom and the side flaps and arranged at the bottom along one edge between the side flaps and a locking flap arranged at a free end of the top flap.

PRIOR ART

[0002] There are packaging concepts on the market that in the folded position has a bottom, two side flaps arranged at opposite sides of the bottom and folded against the first side of the bottom and a top flap is folded over the bottom and the side flaps at the bottom along one edge of the side flaps. A locking flap is arranged at the free end of the top flap where the locking flap is folded over the second side of the bottom and attached at the second side of the bottom, such as by being inserted into a slit arranged in the bottom.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0003] A solution of the above problem has been provided. A simple but very safe packaging, according to the above paragraph, that is characterized in that the free end of the bottom has a slit through which the locking flap is inserted from the first side of the bottom to the second side thereof so that the locking flap is folded about the free end of the bottom over the top flap and is inserted into slit arranged in the top flap.

[0004] Such a safe packaging is suitable for storing, for example, receipts, tickets, coupons, lottery tickets and warranties. The packaging could also be used for diskettes and CDs. When currency has been exchanged, the packaging may also be used for storing foreign currency.

[0005] The packaging also works as a present folder with printed congratulation or greetings or it can be provided with commercial prints or logotypes.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0006] The invention is now described in more detail with reference to the appended drawings in which

[0007] FIG. 1 illustrates a packaging material that, when folded, forms a packaging according to the present invention,

[0008] FIG. 2 illustrates a top view of the packaging of the invention.

[0009] FIG. 3 illustrates a bottom view of the packaging of the invention.

[0010] FIG. 4 illustrates a side view of the packaging of the invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0011] A packaging material 1 is punched preferably from a sheet of, for example, paper, such as cardboard or plastic. FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of a packaging material that, when folded, forms a packaging according to the present invention. Of course, the dimensions may be changed according to a desired size and shape, such as a square bottom, within the scope of the appended claims.

[0012] The packaging material 1 is provided with suitable lines 2, as shown in the dashed lines in FIG. 1 and the two slits, a first slit 5 is in the bottom 4 of the packaging and the second slit is in the top flap 7 of the packaging. These two slits are substantially parallel with the line 2 between the bottom 4 and the top flap 7 i.e. parallel to the folding between these two parts.

[0013] The packaging material is provided with two side flaps 3 that extend from the line 2 between the bottom 4 and the top flap 7 to, at least the height of the slit 5. The slit 5 is adjacent to the free end of the bottom 4 i.e. the end that is opposite the end to which the top flap 7 is arranged.

[0014] The top flap 7 is provided, at its free end that is the end that is opposite the end to which the bottom 4 is arranged, with a locking flap 8. The locking flap 8 is narrower than the width of the packaging. Preferably, the flap 8 is provided with side recesses 9 that make it easier to grip the locking flap 9, such as when locking and opening the packaging.

[0015] Both side flaps 3 of the packaging material 1 are folded over the bottom 4 of the packaging, over the first side of the bottom 4. The top flap 7 is then folded over the first side of the bottom 4 and the folded side flaps 3. The locking flap 8 is inserted through the slit 5 from the first side of the bottom 4 to the second side of the bottom 4 and is then folded up about the free end of the bottom 4 over the tip flap 7. It is then finally inserted into the slit 6 that is arranged at the top flap 7 so that the end of the locking flap 8 is preferably disposed between the top flap 7 and the side flaps 3.

[0016] The bottom can, for example, also have small corner slits (now shown) that are arranged so that a business card etc. can be attached to, for example, the first side of the bottom i.e. the side that is inside the packaging. Of course, it is possible to attach such a card in another known way and, if desired, on the second side of the bottom or to one of the sides of the top flap 7.

Claims

1. A packaging, for safe storage of receipts, tickets et cetera, formed by a sheet that in a folded position has a bottom 4, two side flaps 3 arranged at opposite sides of the bottom 4 and folded against the first side of the bottom 4, a top flap 7 is folded over the bottom 4 and the side flaps 3 and arranged at the bottom 4 along one edge between the side flaps 3 and a locking flap 8 arranged at a free end of the top flap 7, i.e. the edge that is opposite the end at which the bottom 4 is arranged, characterized therein that the free end of the bottom 4 has a slit 5 through which the locking flap 8 is inserted from the first side of the bottom 4 to its second side so that the locking flap 8 is folded about the free end of the bottom 4 over the top flap 7 and inserted into a slit 6 arranged at the free end of the top flap.

2. The packaging according to patent claim 1 characterized therein that the side flaps extend along the side of the bottom 4 from the end of the bottom 4 where the top flap 7 is arranged to the slit 5 that is arranged at the bottom 4.

3. The packaging according to patent claims 1 or 2 characterized therein that the locking flap 8 has side recesses 9 for improved gripping.

4. The packaging according to patent claims 1, 2 or 3 characterized therein that the slits 5,6 are arranged substantially parallel to the folding between the bottom 4 and the top flap 7.
