Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a gift bag for receiving currencies and gifts, and in particular to a gift bag that is provided with fixing members and is also provided on a cover with an ornament (such as a Chinese knot) to act as a griping member.

2. Description of Prior Art

In general, people will put some currencies in a red envelope and give this red envelope to others in some festivals or joyous occasions in order to express their congratulation, appreciation, consolation or commendation. In prior art, the red envelope is merely formed of a piece of red paper. The opening of the red envelope is sealed by means of a cover that extends from the body of the envelope. The thus-formed cover is small in size and is generally sealed via glue. After the person who receives the red envelope has taken out the contents thereof, he/she often discards the red envelope because it is damaged. Further, the conventional red envelope is prone to get damaged, uneasy to seal/unseal, and low in capacity. Moreover, if the user intends to put some articles other than the currencies into the red envelope for the gift, such a red envelope cannot contain the article properly and may even get damaged. On the other hand, the capacity of the red envelope may be insufficient.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In view of the above drawbacks, the present invention is to provide a gift bag that is capable of receiving currencies or gifts other than currencies without getting damaged. Further, it is easy to seal or unseal the gift bag of the present invention According to the present invention, a gift bag is provided, which includes a bag body adapted to receive an article and provided with a fixing member, and a cover provided with a corresponding fixing member to buckle to the fixing member of the bag body. The outer surface of the cover is provided with a gripping member that allows a user to grip it to buckle/unbuckle the cover and the bag body.

The fixing member provided on the bag body and the corresponding member provided on the cover can be a male buckle or a female buckle, Velcro fasteners or magnets that are correspond to each other.

The gripping member provided on the cover may be an ornament such as a Chinese knot, jade ornament or ancient coin.

The gift bag in accordance with the present invention is very firm and easy to open or close.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing the gift bag of an embodiment of the present invention; and

FIG. 2 is a schematic view showing that the gift bag of the embodiment of the present invention is in an open state.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Now, the gift bag in accordance with the embodiment of the present invention will be explained with reference to the accompanying drawings.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing the gift bag of an embodiment of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 1, the gift bag 1 is provided with a bag body 2 for receiving a gift and a cover 3 for covering an opening. The bag body 2 and the cover 3 can be made by means of integrally sewing and tailoring a piece of fabric (such as nylon fabric). Alternatively, it can be also made by means of integrally tailoring and folding a piece of cardboard or plastic.

As shown in FIG. 2, the cover 3 is provided with a fixing member such as a female buckle 5a, and the bag body 2 is provided with a corresponding fixing member such as a male buckle 5b. The male buckle 5a provided on the bag body 2 and the female buckle 5a provided on the cover 3 can be buckled to each other correspondingly so as to cover the opening firmly. Nevertheless, it is still easy to unbuckle these buckled fixing members. For simplicity, the fixing members provided on the bag body 2 and the cover 3 respectively are shown as a female buckle and a male buckle corresponding to each other. However, Velcro fasteners or magnets can be also used as the fixing members.

With reference to FIG. 1 again, the outer surface of the cover 3 can be provided with a gripping member 4 by means of sewing or bonding an ornament (such as a Chinese knot) thereon, so that it is convenient for the user to grip the gripping member to buckle/unbuckle the cover 3 and the bag body 2. Since the Chinese knot is made by means of braiding a thin rope and thus has a certain degree of roughness, it is more suitable to act as the gripping member 4 provided on the cover 3, thereby facilitating the user to grip it to carry out the buckling/unbuckling action. Further, the Chinese knot provided on the cover has an effect of congratulation. Of course, the gripping member 4 may be an ornament such as a jade ornament or ancient coin that is indicative of luck and congratulation. In other words, the gripping member 4 (such as a Chinese knot) provided on the cover 3 not only facilitates the user to buckle/unbuckle the gift bag 1 but also has an effect of congratulation.

According to the gift bag of the embodiment of the present invention, articles other than the currencies can be contained therein. Further, the separate fixing members facilitate the user to carry out the buckling and unbuckling of the gift bag. Moreover, the gripping member is provided to facilitate the buckling and unbuckling of the fixing members and also has an effect of congratulation.

Although the present invention has been described with reference to the foregoing preferred embodiment, it will be understood that the invention is not limited to the details thereof. Various equivalent variations and modifications can still occur to those skilled in this art in view of the teachings of the present invention. Thus, all such variations and equivalent modifications are also embraced within the scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims.
