The unique shape of the “can” part of the present invention when coupled with the new and unique “trash bag caddy” part of the present invention enables the user to easily lift a full bag of trash from the “can” part without experiencing vacuum lock, bag rippage due to weight, therefore reducing spillage and transfer of germs.

2. Description of the Prior Art

The use of trash cans with anti-vacuum devices of known designs and configurations is known in the prior art. More specifically, by way of example; Boover U.S. Pat. No. 5,690,247 discloses a can having vent holes and a foot hold down for easy removal of a can liner, Yeh U.S. Pat. No. 7,228,985 discloses a metal basket and carrying apparatus for the basket itself, Stastny U.S. Pat. No. 6,594,876 discloses a kit for modifying an existing trash can to release vacuum lock.

While these devices fulfill their respective, particular objectives and requirements, the aforementioned patents do not describe a trash can comprising a fitted trash basket (“caddy”) for easily lifting, removing from the can or shell, and carrying of a full bag of trash and/or debris. In this respect “The Caddycan” according to the present invention substantially parts from the conventional concepts and designs of the prior art and in doing so provides an apparatus primarily developed for the purpose of easy lifting, removal, and carrying of a full trash bag, liner, etc.

Therefore, it can be appreciated that there exist a continuing need for a new and improved trash can that allows for easy removal and transfer of a full trash bag from the house to the outdoor container. In this regard, the present invention substantially fulfills this need.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent to the known types of trash cans of known design and configurations now present in the prior art, the present invention provides an improved system for removing and transferring full bags of trash from the kitchen/household can to the curb container. As such, the general purpose of this invention, which will be described subsequently in greater detail, is to provide a new and improved trash can and method which has all the advantages of the prior art and none of the disadvantages.

To attain this, the present invention comprises, a somewhat rectangular shell constructed of rigid plastic or other sturdy material having half round protrusions located on or about the center of the short side of the rectangular shaped shell or can opposite each other and running the full height from top to bottom of the can section or shell allowing for insertion of the “caddy”, with the can section of the present invention also having an envelope or pocket at the bottom filled with sand or other material then sealed for the purpose of adding weight to the can. The present invention also incorporates into its design a “trash bag caddy” being made of rigid plastic or other sturdy material and which consist of a rectangular shaped false bottom having four sides approximately 2″ tall, having elongated half round cylinder shaped handles attached by means of a hinge pin and hinge plate, being located at the top of the short sides of the false bottom on or about the center of the short side of the rectangular false bottom, with the elongated handles having a wall thickness of less then a ¼″. The elongated handles run adjacent to the half round protrusions incorporated into the shape of the “can” to the top of the can at which point a handle grip is attached by means of a hinge pin thus allowing the handle grips to fold down adjacent to the outer side of the “can”. Thus the unique design of the shell of the “can” coupled with the addition of “the trash bag caddy” embodies the new and improved features, of the present invention.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the invention in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood and in order that the present contribution to the art be better appreciated. There are, of course, additional features of the invention that will be described hereinafter and will help to form the subject matter of the Claims.

In this respect, before explaining at least one embodiment of the invention in detail, it is understood that the invention is not limited in its application to the details of construction and to the arrangements of the components set forth in the descriptions or illustrated in the drawings.

The invention is capable of other embodiments and of being practiced and carried out in various ways. Also, it is understood that the phraseology and terminology employed herein are for the purpose of description and should not be regarded as limiting.

As such, those skilled in the art will appreciate that the conception, upon which this discloser is based, may readily be utilized as a basis for designing of other structures, methods and systems for carrying out the several purposes of the present invention. It is important, therefore, that the claims be regarded as including such equivalent constructions insofar, as they do not depart from the spirit and scope of the present invention.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a new improved trash can, having all the advantages of the prior art trash cans of known designs and configurations and none of the disadvantages.

It is another object of the present invention to provide a rigid durable construction to be easily and inexpensively manufactured.

It is another object of the present invention to provide easy lifting a full trash bag out of the can through releasing vacuum lock by way of squeezing the sturdy lifting handles together applying inward pressure against the bag releasing any vacuum between the bag and the “can”.

An even further object of the present invention is to prevent trash bags from easily ripping as is common to prior art trash cans.

It is an even further object of this invention to reduce the spread of germs caused by spillage and transference from having to touch a full bag of trash.

The final object of the present invention is to reduce the trash or waste left in the bottom of the can due to the bag ripping and/or spillage through the use of the false bottom which is removed when removing a full bag of trash.

These together with other objects of the invention, along with various features of novelty which characterize the invention are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure, for a better understanding of the invention, its operating advantages and the specific objects attained by its uses, references should be had to the accompanied drawings and descriptive matter in which there is illustrated the preferred embodiment of the invention.
