Golf bag

A base for golf bag has a bottom frame and a cover. The bottom frame has a bottom cuff, multiple holders, a flange and multiple connecting mechanisms. The flange transversely protrudes out the inner surface of the bottom cuff. Each connecting mechanism is formed on the flange. The cover has a mounting surface and multiple connecting mechanisms. The mounting surface corresponds to and selectively attaches to the flange. Each connecting mechanism is formed on the mounting surface corresponds to and selectively engages one connecting mechanism of the bottom frame. The cover is selectively to be removed from the bottom frame for ease of mounting posts or other purposes.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a golf bag, and more particularly to a golf bag with a removable bottom cover with a structure convenient for assembling.

2. Description of the Prior Arts

Golf bag accommodates golf clubs. A conventional golf bag has a bag body, a base, a top frame and multiple posts. The bag body is a hollow barrel and has a top and a bottom. The base is securely mounted on the bottom of the bag body and has a sidewall and multiple holders. The holders are formed on the sidewall of the base. The top frame is mounted on the top of the bag body and has an annular top cuff, multiple holders and a divider. The annular top cuff has an inner surface. The divider is mounted in the top cuff, is attached to the inner surface of the top cuff and divide a space inside the top cuff into multiple sub spaces. The holders are formed on the inner surface of the top cuff of the top frame. The posts are mounted inside the bag body, extend from the base to the top frame to stretch out to support the bag body and each have an upper end and a lower end. The upper end and the lower end are respectively attached to the corresponding holders of the base and the top frame.

Since the base is securely attached to the bottom of the bag body, the posts need to be mounted into the bag body through the multiple sub spaces inside the top frame. However, since the space of the top cuff of the top frame is spatially hindered by the divider, it is inconvenient, time- and labor-consuming to mount the posts into the bag body by passing through the top cuff.

On the other hand, the conventional golf bag is usually sold as a finished product including the base, the top frame, the bag body and the posts. However, because the volume of the conventional golf bag is too large and heavy such that the cost of transportation is increased and it is required a larger space for accommodation. Furthermore, an external force might distort the posts during the transportation of the conventional golf bag and thus supporting function of the posts might be hampered.

To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention provides a base for golf bag to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The main objective of the invention is to provide a golf bag with a removable bottom cover that can be easily assembled and a base thereof.

The golf bag comprises a bag body, a base, a top frame and multiple posts. The bag body is hollow and has a top, a bottom and an inner surface.

The base is mounted on the bottom of the bag body and has a bottom frame and a cover. The bottom frame is attached to the bag body and has a bottom cuff, multiple holders, a flange and multiple connecting mechanisms. The bottom cuff has an inner surface, an outer surface and a lower end. The outer surface is attached to the inner surface of the bag body near the lower end. Each holder is formed on the inner surface of the bottom cuff. The flange transversely protrudes out the inner surface of the bottom cuff. Each connecting mechanism is formed on the flange.

The cover is mounted detachably on the lower end of the bottom cuff of the bottom frame and has a mounting surface and multiple connecting mechanisms. The mounting surface corresponds to and selectively abuts against the flange. Each connecting mechanism is formed on the mounting surface of the cover of the base and corresponds to and selectively engages one connecting mechanism of the bottom frame.

The top frame is mounted on the top of the bag body and has an annular top cuff and multiple holders. The top cuff has an inner surface. The holders are formed on the inner surface of the top cuff of the top frame.

The posts are mounted inside the bag body to support the bag body. Each post extends from the base to the top frame and has an upper end and a lower end. The upper end and the lower end are attached respectively to the corresponding holders of the bottom frame of the base and holders of the top frame.

Based on the structure as described above, the posts can be easily mounted in the bag body through the bottom frame and mounted between the corresponding holders of the base bottom frame and of the top frame to support the bag body. While the posts have been mounted in the bag body, the lower end of bottom frame can then be capped by the cover. Therefore, the golf bag and the base in accordance with the present invention has an advantage of being convenient, time- and labor-consuming for people to mount the posts into the bag body. Furthermore, the golf bag with the base has the following advantages:

1. The cover of the base is removable such that the bag body in combination with the bottom frame of the base and the top frame, the cover and the posts can be transported individually and are convenient to be assembled by users.

2. The bag body itself in the combination of the bag body, the bottom frame and the top frame in absence of the posts can be easily flattened during transportation to reduce storage space, whereby the transportation cost of the golf bag in accordance with the present invention can be decreased.

3. The cover can be changed and customized to be in any desired shape or printed with commercials of sponsors, thus use of the base in golf bags can bring in extra benefits.

Other objectives, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

 DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

With reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, a golf bag in accordance with the present invention comprises a bag body (10), a base (20), a top frame (30) and multiple posts (40).

The bag body (10) is a hollow barrel and has a top, a bottom and an inner surface.

With further reference to FIG. 3 and FIG. 4, the base (20) is mounted on the bottom of the bag body (10) and has a bottom frame (21) and a cover (22).

The bottom frame (21) is attached to the bottom of the bag body (10) and has a bottom cuff (211), multiple holders (212), a flange (213) and multiple connecting mechanism (214). The bottom cuff (211) has an inner surface, an outer surface and a lower end. The outer surface of the bottom cuff (211) may be attached to the inner surface of the bag body (10) by riveting, or sewing. The lower end of the bottom cuff (211) may protrude out the bottom of the bag body (10). Each holder (212) is formed longitudinally on the inner surface of the barrel (21), may be a hollow cylinder and may have a hole. The hole is formed centrally through the holder (212). The flange (213) transversely protrudes out the inner surface of the bottom cuff (211) near the lower end of the bottom cuff (211) and may be annular. Each connecting mechanism (214) is formed on the flange (213) and may be a pair of mounting slots.

With reference to FIG. 5 to FIG. 7, the cover (22) is selectively attached to the lower end of the bottom cuff (211) and flange (213) of the bottom frame (21) and has a bottom board (223), a sidewall (224), a mounting surface (221), multiple connecting mechanism (222). The sidewall (224) protrudes from the bottom board (223) and abuts against the bottom cuff (21). The mounting surface (221) is formed on the bottom board (223), is annular, is adjacent to the sidewall (224), corresponds to and selectively abuts against the flange (213). Each connecting mechanism (222) of the cover (22) is formed on the mounting surface (221), corresponds to and selectively engages one connecting mechanism (214) of the bottom frame (21) and may be a pair of clicks. The pair of clicks are opposite and respectively extend selectively through the corresponding mounting slots of the bottom frame (21) to mount the cover (22) detachably on the bottom frame (21).

The top frame (30) is mounted on the top of the bag body (10) and has an annular top cuff (31), an optional divider (33) and multiple holders (32). The top cuff (31) has an inner surface. The divider (33) is attached to the inner surface of the top cuff (31) to divide a space inside the top cuff (31) into multiple sub spaces. The holders (32) are formed on the inner surface of the top cuff (31) of the top frame (30). Each holder (32) corresponds to one holder (212) of the bottom frame (21), may be hollow cylinder and may have a hole. The hole is formed centrally through the holder (32).

The posts (40) are mounted inside the bag body (10). Each post (40) protrudes from the top frame (30) to the bottom frame (21) of the base (20) to stretch out and support the bag body (10) and has an upper end (41) and a lower end (42). The upper end (41) and the lower end (42) of each post (40) are respectively attached to the corresponding holders (32, 212) of the top frame (30) and the bottom frame (21) of the base (20). Preferably, the upper end (41) and the lower end (42) of each post (40) are respectively mounted in the holes of the corresponding holders (32, 212) of the top frame (30) and the bottom frame (21) of the base (20).

When in use, the bottom frame (21) of the base (20) and the top frame (30) are securely mounted on the bottom and the top of the bag body (10) respectively by riveting or sewing, and then the posts (40) can be mounted into the bag body (10) prior to use. The upper ends (41) and the lower ends (42) of the posts (40) are attached to the corresponding holders (32, 212) of the top frame (30) and the bottom frame (21). Once the posts (40) have been connected to the top frame (30) and the bottom frame (21), the cover (22) is then mounted on the bottom frame (21) to cap the bottom of the bag body (10). The cover (22) is securely attached to the bottom frame (21) by the engagement between the connecting mechanisms (214, 222) of the bottom frame (21) and the cover (22).

Therefore, the golf bag in accordance with the present invention has an advantage of being time-saving and labor-saving to be assembled. Especially, the posts (40), the bag body (10) in combination with the bottom frame (21) of the base (20) and top frame (30), and the cover (22) of the base (20) may be transported separately, such that the space for transportation and storage of the golf bag in accordance with the present invention can be saved. Moreover, the possibility that shape of the assembled golf bag to be distorted during its transportation can be largely reduced, since the bag body (10) in combination with the bottom frame (21) of the base (20) and top frame (30) is easily to be transported in flat.

Even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and features of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only. Changes may be made in the details, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of portions within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.

Claims

1. A base for golf bag comprising

a bottom frame having a bottom cuff having an inner surface; an outer surface; and a lower end; multiple holders being formed on the inner surface of the bottom cuff; and a flange transversely protruding out the inner surface of the bottom cuff near the lower end of the bottom cuff; and multiple connecting mechanisms being formed on the flange;
a cover being mounted detachably on the lower end of the bottom cuff of the bottom frame and having a mounting surface corresponding to the flange of the bottom frame; and multiple connecting mechanisms, and each connecting mechanism being formed on the mounting surface of the cover and corresponding to and selectively engaging one connecting mechanism of the bottom frame.

2. The base for golf bag of the claim 1, wherein

each connecting mechanism of the bottom frame is a pair of mounting slots; and
each connecting mechanism of the cover is a pair of clicks selectively passing through corresponding mounting slots of the bottom frame.

3. The base for golf bag of the claim 2, wherein the pair of clicks are opposite each other.

4. The base for golf bag of the claim 3, wherein

the cover has a bottom board; and a sidewall protruding from the bottom board and abutting against the bottom cuff; and
the mounting surface is formed on the bottom board adjacent to the sidewall.

5. A golf bag comprising

a bag body being hollow and having a top; a bottom; and an inner surface;
a base being mounted on the bottom of the bag body and having a bottom frame being attached to the bottom of the bag body and having a bottom cuff having an inner surface; an outer surface; and a lower end; multiple holders being formed on the inner surface of the bottom cuff; and a flange transversely protruding out the inner surface of the bottom cuff near the lower end of the bottom cuff; and multiple connecting mechanisms being formed on the flange;
a cover being mounted detachably on the lower end of the bottom cuff of the bottom frame and having a mounting surface corresponding to the flange of the bottom frame; and multiple connecting mechanisms, and each connecting mechanism being formed on the mounting surface of the cover and corresponding to and selectively engaging one connecting mechanism of the bottom frame; and
a top frame being mounted on the top of the bag body and having an annular top cuff having an inner surface; and multiple holders being formed on the inner surface of the top cuff of the top frame;
multiple posts being mounted inside the bag body and protruding from the top frame to the base bottom frame and each having an upper end and a lower end being attached respectively to corresponding holders of the base bottom frame and the top frame.

6. The golf bag of the claim 5, wherein

each connecting mechanism of the bottom frame is a pair of mounting slots; and
each connecting mechanism of the cover is a pair of clicks selectively passing through corresponding mounting slots of the bottom frame.

7. The golf bag of the claim 6, wherein the pair of clicks are opposite each other.

8. The golf bag of the claim 7, wherein

the cover has a bottom board; and a sidewall protruding from the bottom board and abutting against the bottom cuff; and
the mounting surface is formed on the bottom board adjacent to the sidewall.

9. The golf bag of the claim 8, wherein the top frame further has

a divider being attached to the inner surface of the top cuff.

10. The golf bag of the claim 5, wherein

the outer surface of the bottom cuff is attached to the inner surface of the bag body; and
the lower end of the bottom cuff protrudes out the bottom of the bag body.

11. The golf bag of the claim 6, wherein

the outer surface of the bottom cuff is attached to the inner surface of the bag body; and
the lower end of the bottom cuff protrudes out the bottom of the bag body.

12. The golf bag of the claim 7, wherein

the outer surface of the bottom cuff is attached to the inner surface of the bag body; and
the lower end of the bottom cuff protrudes out the bottom of the bag body.

13. The golf bag of the claim 8, wherein

the outer surface of the bottom cuff is attached to the inner surface of the bag body; and
the lower end of the bottom cuff protrudes out the bottom of the bag body.

14. The golf bag of the claim 9, wherein

the outer surface of the bottom cuff is attached to the inner surface of the bag body; and
the lower end of the bottom cuff protrudes out the bottom of the bag body.
