In a specific embodiment, track mount 202A (or 202B) and all utility tracks 204 are comprised of a metallic species selected from the group consisting of aluminum and steel.
The cross-sectional shape of each utility track 204 in an apparatus for increasing the number of utility slots in an awning tube utility track is not limited to circular-shaped, as is illustrated in
The relative arrangement of each utility track in an apparatus for increasing the number of utility slots in an awning tube utility track is not limited to being directly adjacent (abutted) to one another, as is illustrated in
The number of utility tracks in an apparatus for increasing the number of utility slots in an awning tube utility track is not limited to two, as is illustrated in
The number of apparatuses for increasing the number of utility slots in an awning tube utility track is not limited to one. For example,
In another aspect of the present invention, the sizing of one utility track relative to another may be different on the same track mount to provide an asymmetric apparatus.
Referring to
In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, each utility track 702 and 704 includes a first opening 708 parallel to track mount 702 and a second opening 710 orthogonal to track mount 702. The end-on aspect of apparatus 700 may further have a slanted profile which would be into or out of the page, providing an angled end. In one embodiment, track mount 702 has a cross-sectional shape selected from the group consisting of circular-shaped and T-shaped. In one embodiment, each utility track 704 and 706 has a cross-sectional shape selected from the group consisting of circular-shaped, square-shaped and octagonal-shaped. In one embodiment, track mount 702 and the first and second utility tracks 704 and 706 are comprised of substantially the same material. In a specific embodiment, track mount 702 and the first and second utility tracks 704 and 706 are comprised of a material selected from the group consisting of rigid polyvinyl chloride, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene plastic, fiberglass and a metallic species. In an embodiment, the width (c) of apparatus 700 is approximately 1 inch, the height (d) of apparatus 700 is approximately 1.12 inches, first utility track 704 has an outer diameter (e) of approximately 0.46 inches and an inner diameter (a) in the range of 0.28-0.30 inches, the first opening 708 of first utility track 704 has a width of approximately 0.15 inches, second utility track 706 has an outer diameter (f) of approximately 0.64 inches and an inner diameter (b) in the range of 0.47-0.49 inches, the first opening 708 of second utility track 706 has a width of approximately 0.43 inches, and track mount 702 has a length of approximately 3 feet.
It is to be understood that the asymmetric apparatuses contemplated herein are not limited to the above dimensions. For example, one utility track may be sized to be suitable to receive conventional RV accessories, while the second utility track may be sized to receive, e.g., rope lights. It may be that the above dimensions are suitable for such a scenario. For example, rope lights, different from a string of lights, may have diameters from ⅜ of an inch to ½ an inch, but other diameters may be used. The second track mount may be sized accordingly.
