  • Patent number: 8528578
Abstract: A raintrough support clip includes a generally cylindrical main body made from an elastically resilient material, and having a circumferential gap to facilitate mounting around an awning reel having a flexible valance sheet extending downward from the outer edge of the awning reel. The raintrough support clip also has an outrigger member extending outwardly from a lower region of the main body, with an upturned portion forming a generally U-shaped space between the outrigger and the main body. When a suitable number of the raintrough support clips are mounted along the length of the awning reel, the valance sheet may be readily deformed to form a rainwater drainage trough for receiving runoff from the awning. The drainage trough thus formed will carry runoff to one or both ends of the awning reel, thereby preventing the runoff from falling over the awning reel and forming a runoff curtain therebelow.

  • Patent number: 5755593
Abstract: An electrical outlet which is mountable over a cutout of known size in a wall panel wherein the known size is one in a range of different standard sizes. The outlet comprises a base which is dimensioned to extend across the cutout and a plurality of latch arms attached to the base. The latch arms are arranged in arrays of different sizes corresponding to the different standard sizes of the cutout. At least one of the latch arms in a relatively large size array is selectively detachable from the base, wherein a largest remaining array corresponds to the known size of the cutout. In one embodiment, the base includes a plate which is confrontable with the wall panel, and the latch arms extend forwardly from the plate and then rearwardly through respective apertures in the plate and continue rearwardly through the cutout in the panel, and each of the latch arms has a projection with an inclined trailing face that is engageable with the wall panel.

  • Patent number: 5750935
Abstract: The present invention provides for use with a circuit board having an aperture formed therein for receiving an electrical component therethrough, an electrical component assembling device. The electrical component device, in a preferred embodiment, includes a body member configured to receive the electrical component and at least partially extend through the aperture. A first clip is coupled to the body member and includes a first pressure bearing member for exerting a force against the circuit board to thereby secure the body member to the circuit board. The device further includes a second clip coupled to the body member. The second clip also includes a second pressure bearing member for exerting a force against the electrical component to thereby secure the electrical component to the body member. Thus, the first and second clips act in concert to hold the electrical component and the body member secure with respect to the circuit board.
