Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a garment hanger, and more particularly, to a garment hanger with integrally formed to save the manufacturing cost and accommodates quick holding and easy removal of a clothes.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ART

There are various garment hangers available in the markets. Referring to FIG. 7, a conventional garment hanger a1 sold in the markets presently mainly includes a main body a10 with a hook a101. The main body a10 includes a central portion a11, a pair of shoulder portions a12 and a12′, and two clamping members a13 and a13′ provided on each shoulder respectively. Hangers with such a structure could support the inner sides of the shoulders of a garment by the shoulder portions a12 and a12′ to keep the garment flat and smooth, and fasten pants or towels by the clamping members a13 and a13′ to keeps pants or towels from loosening and dropping.

The clamping members found nowadays are variant; however, they normally are limited to being strong elastic clamps which make the two clamping arms engage in a mode of engagement of teeth set thereon the opposite claiming arms in an included angle. Further, the mounting process of the clamping members is time consuming, as a consequence, the manufacturing cost is relatively increased.

In view of this, there exists a need for further improvements in and to the garment hanger designed to lower the manufacturing cost and accommodate quick holding and easy clothes hanging. The present invention fulfills this need and provides further related advantages.

It is an objective of the present invention to provide a garment hanger with clamps convenient for clamping and holding an article. The first jaw of the clamp has an first engagement portion located on its inner griping surface thereof, and the second jaw of the clamp has an second engagement portion located oppositely to the first engagement portion on its inner surface thereof for clamping an article with a tightly engagement therebetween when the clamp is closed.

It is another object of the present invention to provide a garment hanger with clamps for clamping and holding an article. The second jaw of the clamp has an engagement hole located on the inner surface with a locking protrusion lying alongside on the outer surface of the second jaw, and the first jaw has a barb-like member located on the inner surface, wherein the barb-like member projects toward the inner griping surface of the second jaw from the inner griping surface of the first jaw, and the barb-like member has a projection at the upper end thereof for sliding into the engagement hole and engaging with the locking protrusion to form a tight engagement between the first and second jaw when the clamp is closed.

To achieve the above stated objects, the garment hanger according to the present invention comprises a main body, a hook, and two clamps. The hook connects with the upper side of the main body for hanging garments in a suspended way. The clamps are disposed respectively on two ends of the main body, and each of the clamps includes a first jaw and a second jaw adapted to connected and closing to each other, wherein the first jaw gas an first engagement portion located on its inner griping surface thereof, and the second jaw has an second engagement portion on its inner surface thereof, and the second engagement portion is arranged oppositely to the first engagement portion for engaging with the first engagement portion of the first jaw to secure the clamp and hold an article.

According to an embodiment of the present invention, the second engagement portion is an engagement hole with a locking protrusion lying alongside on the outer surface of the second jaw, the first engagement portion is a barb-like member projecting toward the inner griping surface of the second jaw from the inner griping surface of the first jaw, and the barb-like member has a projection at the upper end thereof for sliding into the engagement hole and engaging with the locking protrusion to form a tight engagement between the first and second jaw when the clamp is closed.

According to an embodiment of the present invention, the projection of the barb-like member extends toward the lower part of the main body, and the locking protrusion of the second engagement portion is located on the lower edge of the engagement hole for engaging with the projection of the barb-like member.

The present invention will be apparent after reading the detailed description of the preferred embodiments in reference to the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring to FIG. 1-4, showing a first embodiment of a garment hanger 10 of the present invention, the garment hanger 10 comprises a main body 1 on which there is a hook 2 connected with the upper side of the main body 1 for hanging garments in a suspended way, and two clamps 3 provided respectively on the two ends of the main body 1. The clamps 3 and the hook 2 are formed in a one-piece structure integrally produced by a known plastic injection molding.

The illustrated clamps 3 comprise a first jaw 31 and a second jaw 32 which are adapted to connected and hinged together by a weakening fold 33 to have their inner griping surface oppositely arranged when the clamps 3 are closed. The first jaw 31 has a first engagement portion 4 located on the inner griping surface thereof. The first engagement portion 4 is composed of a barb-like member 41 projecting toward the inner griping surface of the second jaw 32 from the inner griping surface of the first jaw 31 and a latch tab 42 formed at the upper end of the barb-like member 41 and extending toward the lower part of the main body 1.

A second engagement portion 5 is disposed on the inner surface of the second jaw 32 arranged oppositely to the first engagement portion 4. The second engagement portion 5 is an engagement hole 51 with a locking protrusion 52 lying on the outer surface of the second jaw 32 and disposed alongside the lower edge of the engagement hole 51. Accordingly, the barb-like member 41 can pass through the engagement hole 51 when the two jaws 31 and 32 are pressed inward so as to allow the latch tab 42 to hitch the locking protrusion 52 by restoration force of the barb-like member 41, thereby securing the clamp 3.

Each of the first and second jaw 31 and 32 has a ridge 311 oppositely disposed on the inner griping surface thereof. The ridge 311 of the first jaw 31 has a step 312 formed at the upper end, and a matingly shaped step 312 is formed at the upper end of the ridge 311 of the second jaw 32. Further, a strengthen rib 34 is disposed centrally on each inner griping surface in the direction of its longitudinal axis for reinforcing the jaw 31 and 32 against the compressive stresses.

In practice, the clamp 3 is made of a plastic material of suitable resilience or elasticity and produced in accordance with a known process, such as injection moulding, plastic moulding or pressure moulding.

As illustrated in FIG. 5, the first and second jaw 31 and 32 can be secured to each other by the engagement between the barb-like member 41 and the engagement hole 51, and the ridges 311 provide an increased friction for holding an article such as a garment, thereby tightly clamping and holding the garment. When it is desired to remove the garment from the clamps 3, the engaged jaws 31 and 32 are pressed inward and the latch tab 42 of the barb-like member 41 is fingertip pushed upwardly on the latch tab 42 for disengagement thereof from the engagement hole 51 of the second jaw 32, and then opening the clamps 3 on the hanger 10.

FIG. 6 illustrates a second embodiment of a garment hanger 10 of the present invention, wherein the main body 1 has thereon the hook 6 detachably connected thereto by the way of engaging or screwing etc., and the material of the hook 6 preferably mainly is metal or some other durable material.

Therefore, the present invention has following advantages:

    • 1. The clamps on the hanger accommodates quick holding and easy removal of a clothes.
    • 2. Manufacturing is simple. In manufacturing, the garment hanger can be integrally produced by a known process, such as injection moulding, plastic moulding or pressure moulding. Such a structure facilitates the manufacturing process and saves time and labor, reduces costs and provides good quality products.

As stated in the above disclosed, the present invention can surely achieve its expected objects to provide a garment hanger with clamps convenient for clamping and holding an article, and provides less additional cost associated with manufacture.

It should be understood that different modifications and variations could be made from the disclosures of the present invention by the people familiar in the art without departing the spirit of the present invention.
