Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a golf bag and more particularly, to a golf bag divider top, which keeps a number of golf clubs rested and separated in each of a number of insertion spaces to facilitate retrieval of storage golf clubs.

2. Description of the Related Art

Golf is a sports game in which players strike a ball into a hole using several types of golf clubs. Therefore, golf players commonly use a golf bag to carrying one set of golf clubs. A commercial golf bag generally has a divider structure to rest golf clubs in the bag body.

FIG. 1 illustrates a conventional golf bag, which comprises a bag body 10, and a divider member 20 disposed at the open top side of the bag body 10 and defining a number of insertion spaces 201. Each insertion space 201 accommodates 1˜3 golf clubs 30. Because a number of golf clubs 30 are rested together in each insertion space 201, the divider member 20 does not facilitate retrieval of the storage golf clubs 30 individually.

U.S. Pat. No. 6,109,433 discloses a golf bag divider top, entitled “Ridged Golf Bag Dividers”, which comprises ridged elements 38 having ridges 38a and valleys 38b oriented and positioned such that when the golf bag is in the partially-reclined position, the golf clubs 40 rest unrestrained and separated within the valleys 38b between the ridges 38a. This design of golf bag divider top is still not satisfactory in function. When carrying the golf bag, the golf clubs 40 may hit one another, causing damage.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is the main object of the present invention to provide a golf bag divider top for golf bag, which keeps a number of storage golf clubs separated in each of a number of insertion spaces to facilitate retrieval of the golf clubs. To achieve this and other objects of the present invention, the golf bag divider top is mounted in an open top side of a golf bag body for the resting of golf clubs in said golf bag body, having a plurality of transverse ribs, a plurality of insertion spaces defined by the transverse ribs within the open top side of the golf bag body for the insertion of a number of golf clubs into the golf bag body, and a plurality of ridge-like spacer lugs respectively formed integral with the transverse ribs and suspending in the insertion spaces in such a manner that the ridge-like spacer lugs at one transverse rib are spaced from another adjacent ridge-like spacer lug for supporting a number of golf clubs in each insertion space in a separated status to facilitate retrieval of the storage golf clubs.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring to FIGS. 2, 3, and 5, a golf bag divider top is shown installed in the top open side of a golf bag body 1 for golf bag. The golf bag divider top comprises a plurality of transverse ribs 2, defining a plurality of insertion spaces 3. Golf clubs are inserted through the insertion spaces 3 and rested in the golf bag body 1. The golf bag divider top further comprises a plurality of ridge-like spacer lugs 21 respectively formed integral with the transverse ribs 2 and suspending in the insertion spaces 3 in such a manner that the ridge-like spacer lugs 21 at one transverse rib 2 are kept spaced from one adjacent transverse rib 2 at a distance and adapted to support one respective golf club 4 in the associating insertion space 3.

Referring to FIGS. 2 and 5 again, the golf bag divider top of the present invention defines therein multiple insertion spaces 3. When multiple golf clubs 4 are rested in the insertion spaces 3, the flexible material property of the transverse ribs 2 does not damage the storage golf clubs 4, and the storage golf clubs 4 rest unrestrained and separated within the insertion spaces 3 between the transverse ribs 2, and the ridge-like spacer lugs 21 keep the storage golf clubs 4 separated within each insertion space 3. When the user moves or carries the golf bag, the storage golf clubs 4 are kept separated and prohibited from hitting against one another.

When the golf bag is in a reclined position, the storage golf clubs 4 rest unrestrained and separated within the insertion spaces 3, and the flexible ridge-like spacer lugs 21 keep the storage golf clubs 4 separated within each insertion space 3 to facilitate retrieval of the storage golf clubs 4.

Referring to FIG. 2, the golf bag divider top of the present invention can be made detachably fastened to the golf bag body 1.

Although a particular embodiment of the invention has been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
