Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of Invention

The present invention relates to a postcard storage sheet to store and display postcards that may be collected over time.

2. Description of Related Art

Postcards are usually a small 4-by-6 card that may include a scenic view of a particular area. Postcards are popularly known to be used by tourists to send to relatives or friends so that they may display some of the sites of an area that they may be visiting. Postcards are also used to send messages or for advertising purposes. Some individuals may receive a number of postcards from friends or relatives and may seek to collect them. Further some travelers collect postcards from different areas that they may visit over a period of time. The collection and storage of the postcards may become cumbersome if proper devices or methods of storage aren't available to store the postcards. Some particular collectors of postcards may desire to keep the postcards in a suitable condition for storage and collection over a period of time.

There are many albums that have been developed for the storage of greeting cards, stamps, brochures, posters or photographs. These albums provide a means to store the collectibles in one device for review as desired. Typically the albums store the cards in a pocket or sleeve that is normally made of a clear plastic material. This method of storage ensures that the card is visible and secure within the album during the storage thereof. One disadvantage to the traditional album for storage of collectibles such as cards or photographs is that the user is normally limited to the number of pages that are available. The album usually comes with a preset number of sheets for storage of cards or photographs. Consequently, it would be advantageous to have a storage sheet that may be used for a plurality of cards, where the sheet itself is stored in any binder that the user may purchase for storage of multiple sheets.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a postcard storage sheet for storing post cards comprising: a grouping of sleeves centered on the storage sheet; a slit opening for each sleeve where each slit opening provides a means to insert a postcard into the sleeve; a border surrounding the grouping of sleeves; and a plurality of holes along one border. Each sleeve may be made of a transparent material to allow visibility of the postcard. The grouping of sleeves includes at least three sleeves. The plurality of holes may include three holes along a side border of the sheet.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 depicts a postcard storage sheet in accordance with the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The present invention relates to a postcard storage sheet that is utilized to shield and protect postcards stored within sleeves that are arranged upon the storage sheet. The sleeves provide a means to insert postcards for storage upon the storage sheet. The storage sheet includes a plurality of holes along one side border of the sheet that allows for the insertion of the sheet into a binder. The holes may range from three up to multiple holes depending on the type of binder that is used to store the postcard storage sheet.

In reference to FIG. 1, an exemplary embodiment of a Postcard Storage Sheet 100 is depicted. The Postcard Storage Sheet 100 includes Postcard Sleeves 20, 22, 24. These sleeves are arranged over the surface of the Storage Sheet 100. The Sleeves 20, 22, 24 are equally spaced as depicted in FIG. 1 and provide a means for the insertion of a postcard into each respective sleeve. Although three sleeves are depicted upon this Storage Sheet 100, it is contemplated that a larger storage sheet may be developed allowing for the storage of more than three postcards. As shown in FIG. 1, the Sleeves 20, 22, 24 are equally spaced and include borders around the grouping of the sleeves. A Top Border 30, Side Borders 34, 36 and a Bottom Border 32 are provided surrounding the grouping of sleeves. The grouping of sleeves 20, 22, 24 are essentially centered onto the Storage Sheet 100. Along the Side Border 36 a plurality of Holes 41, 43, 45 are provided. The holes 41, 43, 45 provide a means for the placement of the Storage Sheet 100 into a three-ring binder. Although three holes are provided and essentially match with a typical three-ring binder the number of holes may be increased or decreased as desired based upon the type of binder that is utilized by the user.

Each Sleeve 20, 22, 24 include a slit opening. As shown, Sleeve 20 includes Slit Opening 21, Sleeve 22 includes Slit Opening 23 and Sleeve 24 includes Slit Opening 25. Each slit opening allows for the insertion of a postcard into the protective sleeve. The sleeve may be manufactured of a clear plastic to allow for a transparent view of the postcard placed within the Storage Sheet 100. Overall the Storage Sheet 100 provides an effective means to protect and display postcards upon a single sheet of material. Multiple sheets may be stored within a binder as desired due to the use of holes along one side border of the storage sheet. Consequently, the volume of postcards that are capable of being stored within a binder is only restricted by the size of the binder itself. Additional sheets may be purchased and used as desired by the user. Further the sheets may be used in various types of binders and the binder size or number of binders used is based upon the number of postcards collected by the user. The instant invention has been shown and described in what it considers to be the most practical and preferred embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made there from within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art.
