SUN HAT

A sun hat includes a hat body which has a crown portion, a peak portion extended forwards from the bottom of the crown portion and an annular brim portion extended rearwards from two sides of the peak portion. The brim portion is embedded with at least one flexible wire set by stitching. The sun hat thus formed not only can block sunshine, the brim portion also can be flipped upwards in a set profile through the flexible wire embedded inside, hence provides improved air ventilation to enhance comfort and usability.

Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a hat and particularly to a sun hat.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

There are numerous types of hats on the market. Most of them are used to block sunshine. Some earlier hats have a peak portion extended in the front to form the so-called peaked caps to prevent sunshine from directly shining on wearer's face. Such a peaked cap still exposes wearer's neck to the sunshine. To remedy this drawback, another type of sun hat 1 has been developed as shown in FIG. 1. It has a hat body 1 and a sun cloth 12 extended from the rim thereof to improve sunshine blocking effect. Many people wear such hats during outdoor activities, such as playing golf, strolling or mountain hiking. However, such a design tends to make the sun cloth 12 stay on wearer's neck that makes the wearer feel muggy and uncomfortable. Moreover, when the wearer lower the head, the sun cloth 12 swings forwards and blocks the visual sight at two sides of the eyes. All these create a lot of annoyances to the wearer.

One hat producer has provided improvements as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 disclosed in R.O.C. patent No. M391311. It provides a hat comprising a crown portion 21, a brim portion 22 and a flexible wire 23. The brim portion 22 is connected to the bottom of the crown portion 21. The flexible wire 23 is embedded and concealed on the circumference of the lower side of the brim portion 22. The crown portion 21 and the brim portion 22 are coupled to form a hat body 2. The flexible wire 23 is flexible and plastic, thus the brim portion 22 can be bent into various profiles. However, the flexible wire 23 is located only at the circumference of the brim portion 22, hence does not have adequate holding forces after bending. In the event of strong wind or raining the set profile easily collapses (referring to FIG. 3). There are still rooms for improvement.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In view of the aforesaid disadvantages and deficiency in usability occurred to the conventional sun hats the present invention provides a sun hat that can improve sunshine blocking effect and air ventilation, and offer more comfort to users.

To achieve the foregoing object, the sun hat according to the invention includes a hat body which has a crown portion, a peak portion extended forwards from the bottom of the crown portion, and an annular brim portion extended rearwards from two sides of the peak portion. The brim portion is embedded with at least one flexible wire set by stitching. The flexible wire can be laid inside the entire brim portion and formed in various shapes, such as radial, meshed or wavy.

Through the foregoing structure, compared with the conventional techniques, the present invention provides many advantages, notably:

1. A brim portion is added to the hat body with a peak portion, hence can provide more shade areas to block sunshine from shining user's face and neck. Moreover, the brim portion is extended rearwards from two sides of the peak portion with the gradually increasing size, hence can well block the sunshine without restraining user's visual sight. It is ergonomic in design.

2. The conventional sun hats mostly have the brim portion surrounding the circumference of the crown portion that often confuses the users about the front side and rear side and results in wearing on the wrong side. Thus the invention provides the peak portion in addition to the brim portion, thereby can show the users the correct wearing direction to improve practicality.

3. The flexible wire is embedded in the entire brim portion. After the brim portion has been bent and shaped into various profiles, the flexible wire still provides desirable holding forces. Moreover, 20 users can adjust the shade area of the brim portion according to sunshine positions. When the position of the brim portion is not shined by the sunshine, it can be flipped up to improve air ventilation.

The foregoing, as well as additional objects, features and advantages of the invention will be more readily apparent from the following detailed description, which proceeds with reference to the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Please refer to FIGS. 4, 5 and 6 for a first embodiment of the sun hat of the invention. It includes a hat body 3 which has a crown portion 31, a peak portion 32 extended forwards from the bottom of the crown portion 31, and an annular brim portion 33 extended rearwards from two sides of the peak portion 32 and formed at a greater size than that of the peak portion. The brim portion 33 is embedded with at least one flexible wire 34. In this embodiment, the flexible wire 34 is bent in a wavy shape and laid in the entire brim portion 33 to provide desirable holding forces. The flexibly wire 34 is set by stitching. The crown portion 31 further has an adjustable fastener 35 (referring to FIG. 5) opposite to the peak portion 32 that allows a user to adjust the head size of the hat to make wearing more comfortable.

Please also refer to FIG. 7, the brim portion 33 is extended rearwards from two sides of the peak portion 32 with the gradually increasing size to, and forms a lateral fender 331 at the junction with the peak portion 32. The lateral fender 331 is formed at a desired size to block sunshine without blocking the visual sight of the user to conform to ergonomics. When in use, the brim portion 33 can be flipped upwards and set via the flexible wire 34 to improve air ventilation, so that the user could not feel muggy. As the flexible wire 34 is laid in the entire brim portion 33 in the wavy shape, it has sufficient holding power even under external forces, hence the brim portion 33 can maintain the desired profile.

Please refer to FIG. 8 for a second embodiment of the invention. The flexible wire 34a can be bent and adjusted at a desired size to mate the brim portion 33. For instance, in this embodiment the flexible wire 34a is smaller than the first embodiment. Please refer to FIG. 9 for a third embodiment of the invention in which the flexible wire 34b is embedded inside the brim portion 33 and bent to form a plurality of curves which are equally spaced from each other. FIG. 10 illustrates a fourth embodiment of the invention in which the flexible wire 34c is embedded inside the brim portion 33 in a radial shape. FIG. 11 illustrates a fifth embodiment of the invention in which the flexible wire 34d is embedded inside the brim portion 33 and crisscrossed to form a meshed shape. Thus, through the flexible wire 34 a plurality of layouts can be formed to enhance functionality. In addition to providing sun shade function, it also can facilitate air ventilation to make users feeling cooler and more comfortable. Moreover, the flexible wire 34 can set the brim portion 33 in a desired profile which is changeable according to user's different requirements, thereby provides greater functionality.

In short, the sun hat of the invention can eliminate the shortcomings of the conventional sun hats and provide significant improvements.

While the preferred embodiments of the invention have been set forth for the purpose of disclosure, they are not the limitations of the invention, modifications of the disclosed embodiments of the invention as well as other embodiments thereof may occur to those skilled in the art. Accordingly, the appended claims are intended to cover all embodiments which do not depart from the spirit and scope of the invention.

Claims

1. A sun hat, comprising a hat body which includes a crown portion and a peak portion extended forwards from a bottom of the crown portion, wherein:

the peak portion is extended rearwards from two sides thereof to form an annular brim portion which is embedded with at least one flexible wire thereinside.

2. The sun hat of claim 1, wherein the at least one flexible wire is bent in a wavy shape.

3. The sun hat of claim 1, wherein the at least one flexible wire is bent to form a plurality of curves which are equally spaced from each other.

4. The sun hat of claim 1, wherein the at least one flexible wire is formed in a radial shape.

5. The sun hat of claim 1, wherein the at least one flexible wire is formed in a meshed shape.

6. The sun hat of claim 1, wherein the crown portion includes an adjustable fastener opposite to the peak portion.

7. The sun hat of claim 2, wherein the crown portion includes an adjustable fastener opposite to the peak portion.

8. The sun hat of claim 3, wherein the crown portion includes an adjustable fastener opposite to the peak portion.

9. The sun hat of claim 4, wherein the crown portion includes an adjustable fastener opposite to the peak portion.

10. The sun hat of claim 5, wherein the crown portion includes an adjustable fastener opposite to the peak portion.
