Description
TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention refers to an accessory designed to grasp the corners of a bed sheet and stretch it tightly over the mattress.

BACKGROUND ART

It is customary to spread a sheet over a mattress, and in order to ensure that the sheet remains spread tautly over the bed, the sheet edges are folded under the mattress. Some sheets have hems with an elastic band that helps hold the sheet edges underneath the mattress. Nevertheless, the sheet often loses its grip on the mattress corner. The present invention offers a solution to this problem and even facilitates spreading sheets over mattresses, ensuring they remain taut.

DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 describes the accessory (1).

FIG. 2 describes the clip (4).

FIGS. 3, 4, 6 and 7 describe the manner in which the accessory (1) is positioned on the bed.

FIG. 5 describes the manner in which the edge of the sheet is inserted and attached to the clips (4).

THE INVENTION

The main objective of the present invention is to offer an accessory designed to tighten the sheet's grip on the mattress; and to offer an accessory, as mentioned, which is easy and effective to use, at a low price.

The accessory (1), subject of the present invention, is described in general in FIG. 1, and is composed of a base (2) and two vertical arms (3). The base (2) is shaped like a flat plate or flat strip with a vertical arm (3) at each end. The height of the two arms (3) should preferably be equal to approximately half the thickness of the mattress. The arm is shaped like a flat strip, and it ends in a clip (4). The arms (3) are not parallel to each other, but extend up from the base at a 45° angle to the longitudinal axis of the base, so that the relative angle between the two arms is approximately 90°. The clip (4) is designed to grip the sheet tightly while the accessory is in use. In general, a wide variety of clips may be used to grasp the sheet. In the example depicted in the drawings, for example in FIG. 2, the inventors implement the invention using a particular type of clip, although the invention and the patent application refer to any type of clip.

Use of the accessory: The accessory (1) is placed under the mattress corner so that the base (2) is positioned between the mattress and the bed board, or box mattress, and the arms are flush against the vertical sides of the mattress as depicted, for example, in FIGS. 3 and 4 Each of the arms (3) of the accessory (1) is positioned against an adjacent side of the mattress, as illustrated in the drawings. After placing the accessory (1) and positioning it as described above, the sheet is spread over the mattress, and the corners are stretched and attached to the clips (4). The manner and way in which the edge of the sheet is inserted and attached to the clips (4) is clear and understood as it is described above and in the Figures. For the illustration, FIG. 5 describes the manner in which the edge of the sheet to the clips (4), and it should be understood that in fact while using the accessory (1) the sheet covers the clips (4). FIGS. 6 and 7 depict the situation after spreading the sheet and attaching it to the clips (4) of the accessory (1). Accessories (1) should of course be placed one at each corner of the mattress in order to hold the sheet over the mattress effectively and tightly.

The accessory (1) can be manufactured from a variety of materials, such as metal, plastic, and even cardboard or a stiff fabric. It is also possible and recommended to manufacture the accessory as one solid piece, mainly in order to minimize costs.

While the present invention has been described in connection with what is considered the most practical and preferred embodiments, it is understood that this invention is not limited to the disclosed embodiments but is intended to cover various arrangements included within the spirit and scope of the broadest interpretation so as to encompass all such modifications and equivalent arrangements.
