Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Fields of the Invention

The present invention relates to a support member of foldable travel bed, especially to a support member of a foldable travel bed that supports the foldable travel bed stably when the travel bed is extended. The travel bed can be folded into two halves and then extended in use.

2. Descriptions of Related Art

Refer to Taiwanese Pat. Pub. No. M382780 “double tube structure of upper frame of travel bed”, it reveals an upper frame of a travel bed. Each side of the travel bed includes a joint on a center part thereof. By the joints, each side of the upper frame of the travel bed can be folded for storage.

Refer to Taiwanese Pat. Pub. No. M345539 “locking member of travel bed frame”, it has structure similar to that of the above patent. A joint is arranged at each side of an upper frame of a travel bed. Thus each side of the upper frame of the travel bed can be folded for storage by the joints.

In the above patents, while the travel bed being folded, a lower frame is pulled up and folded from a bottom base first and then four sides of the upper frame are folded by pulling upper corner seats toward a center. The upper corner seat is located between two adjacent sides of the upper frame and a vertical rod. Thus the travel bed needs joints each of which is arranged at each of four sides of the upper frame and the upper corner seats each of which is between two adjacent sides and the vertical rod. The two adjacent sides are pivoted by the upper corner seat. Such fold and extend mode is more trouble and inconvenient in use. Moreover, the upper corner seat has a certain volume for pivoting the two adjacent sides and fixing the vertical rod. Thus the upper corner seats at four corners of the travel bed occupy a certain space after the travel bed being folded. The manufacturing cost is also increased.

Thus there is room for improvement and a need to provide a novel foldable travel bed that can be folded into two halves and having a good support structure after being extended. Thus the foldable travel bed is of higher practical value.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Therefore it is primary object of the present invention to provide a support member of a travel bed by which a frame of the travel bed is folded into two halves for storage and the frame is supported firmly as well as stably while being extended.

In order to achieve the above object, a support member of a travel bed provided by the present invention includes two side frames and two fastening joints. Through releasing of fastening state of each fastening joint, a connecting rod and two vertical rods of one side frame are moved toward to those of the other side frame. Thus the travel bed is folded into two halves for storage. A transverse rod, the connecting rod and the vertical rod are connected by a pivot connector. A stopper assembly is disposed between the transverse rod and the vertical rod. The stopper assembly includes a slide sleeve and a link rod. The slide sleeve is sleeved on the transverse rod while two ends of the link rod are respectively pivoted to the slide sleeve and the vertical rod. Thereby the travel bed is extended stably due to the disposition of the stopper assembly.

Moreover, a lower frame is arranged at a bottom end of each vertical rod. The lower frame is formed by a plurality of support rods. An outer end of each support rod is connected to a bottom end of the corresponding vertical rod while an inner end of each support rod is connected by a base seat.

The bottom end of the vertical rod is further assembled with a wheel or a support leg.

The above pivot connector includes two co-axial sleeves at a first direction and a curved slot along the same axis of the sleeves at a second direction. The sleeves are arranged parallel to each other and respectively inserted through by the connecting rod and the transverse rod. A slot is formed between the two sleeves and a stopper fixed on the transverse rod is mounted in the slot. Two side walls of the curved slot are fixed on the vertical rod.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Refer to FIG. 1, a frame of a foldable travel bed according to the present invention includes two side frames 1 and two fastening joints 2 arranged at connecting area of the side frames 1. The foldable travel bed can be folded into two halves.

The side frame 1 consists of two parallel transverse rods 11, a connecting rod 12 that connects a first end 111 of each of the transverse rods 11, and two vertical rods 13 disposed parallel to each other and used for supporting the two transverse rods 11 and the connecting rod 12. Each of the two transverse rods 11 and the connecting rod 12 are connected by a pivot connector 14 to form a C-shaped upper frame A. Each of the two vertical rods 13 is pivoted to each of two ends of the connecting rod 12 of the C-shaped upper frame A also by the pivot connector 14.

Refer to FIG. 2 and FIG. 3, a connection between the transverse rod 11, the connecting rod 12 and the vertical rod 13 is revealed. A stopper assembly 15 is disposed between the transverse rod 11 and the vertical rod 13. The stopper assembly 15 includes a slide sleeve 151 and a link rod 152. The slide sleeve 151 is arranged around the transverse rod 11 while two ends of the link rod 152 are respectively pivoted to the slide sleeve 151 and the vertical rod 13. The slide sleeve 151 slides on the transverse rod 11 by the stopper assembly 15 so that the travel bed is extended and folded smoothly. When the travel bed is extended, the travel bed is supported stably and maintained at the extended state firmly by the link rod 152 supported between the transverse rod 11 and the vertical rod 13.

Still refer to FIG. 2 and FIG. 3, the pivot connector 14 includes two co-axial sleeves 141, 142 at the direction D1 and a curved slot 144 along the same axis of the sleeves 141, 142 at the direction D2. The sleeves 141, 142 are arranged parallel to each other and respectively inserted through by the connecting rod 12 and the first end 111 of the transverse rod 11. A slot 143 is formed between the two sleeves 141, 142 and a stopper 16 fixed on the first end 111 of the transverse rod 11 is mounted in the slot 143 correspondingly. Two side walls 145 of the curved slot 144 are fixed on the vertical rod 13. A second end 112 of each transverse rod 11 of the two side frames 1 are connected by the fastening joint 2.

Thereby one of the side frames 1 is moved toward and leaning on the other side frame 1 once the fastening state of each of the fastening joints 2 is released. Thus the travel bed is folded into two halves or storage, as shown in FIG. 4.

In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, a lower frame 3 is arranged at a bottom end of each vertical rod 13. The lower frame 3 consists of a plurality of support rods 31 and a base seat 32. An outer end 311 of each support rod 31 is connected to a bottom end of the corresponding vertical rod 13 while an inner end 312 of each support rod 31 is joined with the base seat 32.

In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the bottom end of the vertical rod 13 is further assembled with a wheel 17 or a support leg 18.
