CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION

This application claims the benefit of priority of U.S. provisional application No. 61/803,899, filed Mar. 21, 2013, the contents of which are herein incorporated by reference.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a towel holder and, more particularly, to a towel holder attached to a user's clothing.

Doctors recommend at least 30 minutes of exercise per day at least three times per week to promote health and emotional well-being. Activities and exercises may include, but are not limited to, jogging, running, golfing, line-dancing, dancing, and the like. Such activities cause an increase in the heart rate which causes a person to perspire. When people perspire, they tend to reach for a towel to wipe their face and arms. Most athletic clubs supply towels to their patrons. Carrying the towel around the gym can be burdensome, so most people leave the towel behind, throw it onto the floor until needed or use someone else's towel. The main problem is that there is no place to put the towel until needed.

As can be seen, there is a need for a device that carries a towel on a user's person.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In one aspect of the present invention, a towel holder comprises: an upper body portion comprising a front surface, a rear surface, a top portion and a bottom portion; a clip attached to the rear surface of the upper body portion; and a towel ring configured to secure a towel within, wherein the towel ring is extending from the bottom portion of the upper body portion.

In another aspect of the present invention, a method of carrying a towel comprises: providing a towel holder comprising an upper body portion comprising a clip, and a towel ring extending from the upper body portion; attaching the clip of the towel holder to a clothing piece; and placing a towel within the towel ring.

These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings, description and claims.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.

Broadly, an embodiment of the present invention provides a towel carrying device. The towel carrying device includes an upper body portion. The upper body portion includes a clip that is attachable to a user's apparel. The towel carrying device further includes a towel ring extending from the upper body portion. Therefore, a user may attach the towel carrying device to their apparel and place a towel within the towel ring to carry a towel on their person.

The present invention may include a device and method for holding a towel without using hands. Small towels are thrown onto dirty floors, equipment, counter tops or stuffed into the waists of clothing. The present invention clips onto clothing keeping the towel close to the user while keeping the towel clean and readily accessible.

The present invention makes carrying a towel easy, stylish and readily accessible. A person may simply clip the device onto the waist of a piece of clothing or onto a pocket or neckline of a shirt. Wherever a towel or hand cloth is used, the present invention could be used. For example, the present invention may be used during jogging, running, exercising, dancing, cooking, handling an infant (burping/changing), activities that cause sweating, waitressing, busing tables and the like.

The object of the present invention is to design a device for carrying a towel hands-free so people can perform other tasks while keeping their personal towel close by and clean. Another object of the present invention is to design a fashionable clip and ring assembly for securing the towel to a piece of clothing (such as the waist-band) in order to keep the towel off of the dirty floor or equipment. The present invention may also ensure that one is using their own towel and not someone else's that looks like theirs. Another object of the present invention is to utilize an easy way to access the towel. The towel may slide through the ring for easy access.

Referring to FIGS. 1 through 7, the present invention includes a towel carrier/holder. The towel holder includes an upper body portion 14 having a front surface, a rear surface, a top portion and a bottom portion. A clip 12 is attached to the rear surface of the upper body portion. The present invention may further include a towel ring 10 extending from the bottom portion of the upper body portion 14. The towel ring 10 secures a towel 16 within. In certain embodiments, at least one of decorative piece 22 and/or a logo 20 is disposed on the front surface of the upper body portion 14. For example, a flower may be used as the decorative piece 22.

A method of carrying a towel 16 may include the following: providing a towel holder having an upper body portion 10 having a clip 12, and a towel ring 10 extending from the upper body portion 10; attaching the clip 12 of the towel holder to a clothing piece; and placing a towel 16 within the towel ring 10. The piece of clothing may be a belt 24.

It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
