Weighted Hair Device for Elongating Curly, Coily and Kinky Hair
The invention herein pertains to hair devices, particularly purposefully weighted hair devices for elongating curly, coily and kinky hair. Currently there is no classification for weighted hair devices, tools, or accessories. The invented weighted hair device can be used as either a styling tool that transforms curly hair into a set wave pattern unique to the user's curl pattern or as a weighted ornamental hair accessory that remains in the hair. The invented weighted hair device is particularly advantageous for tightly curled hair patterns, especially Afro textured hair. The description of the disclosure is merely exemplary in nature and, thus, variations that do not depart from the gist of the disclosure are intended to be within the scope of the disclosure. Such variations are not to be regarded as a departure from the spirit and scope of the disclosure herein.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONThe invention herein pertains to hair devices, where the device is purposefully weighted for elongating curly, coily and kinky hair. Currently there is no classification for weighted hair devices, tools, or accessories.
Used as a tool, the invented device creates a set wave pattern unique to the user's curl pattern by applying weight to sections of wet curls, drying the elongated sections and the removing the device. Used as an accessory, the invented device keeps the hair in an elongated state until the device is removed.
The use of the invention herein is particularly beneficial for coily and kinky hair textures, commonly referred to as Afro hair, as these textures have the tightest curl patterns which is typically difficult to manage and style in its natural state. The device herein allows this hair texture to be easily cared for by creating manageable, elongated sections, easing maintenance routines and optimizing styling options without changing the natural texture.
All curly hair textures will benefit from the device as hair is transformed into an elongated state naturally by virtue of the weight of the device and gravity. By elongating the hair with the invented device, hair dries more efficiently by allowing water to easily flow away from the hair shaft that would normally be trapped within the curls, which is especially problematic in Afro hair. Using the invented device can eliminate or limit the need for using hairdryers which can cause frizz and over-drying, as curly hair textures require regular hydration and limited manipulation to achieve optimal curl definition.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe invention herein is a purposefully weighted hair device that temporarily elongates the texture of curly, coily, and kinky hair. The weight of the device elongates curls which can then be dried into a set wave pattern. The invention herein is also an ornamental hair accessory which provides sustained elongation, provides fluidity and movement to Afro textured hair and also secures sections of hair in virtually any position. The advantage of the invention is that currently there is no device or method in prior art that provides these benefits. Also, there is no classification for weighted hair devices, tools, or accessories.
The invention herein is a purposefully weighted hair device that is a tool and an ornamental hair accessory that temporarily elongates curly, coily and kinky hair. When used as a tool the weight of the invented device sets the hair into an unique wave pattern relative to the natural curl of the hair once the hair is dry. When used as an accessory the invented device keeps the hair in an elongated state by virtue of the weight of the device and gravity until removed, which is especially beneficial for Afro textured hair. Currently there are no other inventions or prior art or classification of weighted hair devices, tools, or accessories.
The invented device herein is made of weighted material, preferably metal that is noncorrosive or coated to prevent corrosion from common household cleaners, haircare products and water. The invented device is a uniformly constructed, linear or tubular form, generally circular, however, can also mean forms in the shape of broken lines, for example a square, rectangle. or Polygon, with openings at both ends sufficient to contain a particular selection of hair. The invented device utilizes the body inherent in curly hair textures and thick hair sections to hold the device in place eliminating the need for any secondary parts.
Wire-forming and stamping is a commonly known and frequently used manufacturing process capable of producing virtually any shape and form with various types of metals and plastics in a plurality of gauges, sizes and lengths. Painting, coating and plating of these materials is also a commonly used industrial process which provides anti-corrosion and decorative properties to the selected material.

4. A Purposefully Weighted Hair Device comprised of an elongate of rigid or semi-rigid material, having length and width, generally tubular and cylindrical in cross-section, however, can also mean configurations in the shape of broken lines, for example a square. rectangle, or polygon; whereby the curly hair section is placed into the invented device with or without a means of opening or closing the invented device or supplemental means of attaching the invented device to the hair.
5. A Purposefully Weighted Hair Device whereby the weight of the device is sufficient to elongate the helical structure of curly hair which thereby stretches the curl structure into a wavy coiffure which is unique to the natural curl structure upon which the invented weighted device is used.
