Detergent compositions containing enduring perfume

A detergent composition containing efficient enduring perfume composition is provided. Specifically, the detergent composition comprises: an enduring perfume composition comprising at least about 70% of enduring perfume ingredients. The perfume is substantially free of halogenated fragrance materials and nitromusks. The composition also contains from about 0.01% to about 95% of a detergent surfactant system, preferably containing anionic and/or nonionic detergent surfactants. The compositions can be in the form of granules, liquids, pastes, bars, etc.

Claims

1. A detergent composition comprising: about 0.001% to about 10% by weight of an enduring perfume composition selected from the group consisting of perfume B which consists of geranyl acetate, beta-Ionone, cis-Jasmone, methyl dihydrojasmonate, suzaral T, para-tert-Butyl cyclohexyl acetate, amyl cinnamic aldehyde, iso-amyl salicylate, benzophenone, cedrol, cedryl formate, hexyl cinnamic aldehyde, musk indanone, patchouli alcohol, phenyl hexanol, ylangene, benzyl acetate, linalool, linalyl acetate, perfume C which consists of gamma-nonalactone, tonalid, vertenex, Verdox, allyl cyclohexane propionate, amyl benzoate, amyl cinnamic aldehyde dimethyl acetal, aurantiol, dodecalactone, ethylene brassylate, ethyl methyl phenyl glycidate, galaxolide, hexyl cinnamic aldehyde, hexyl salicylate, lilial, undecavertol, allyl caproate, fructone, perfume D which consists of dimethyl benzyl carbinyl acetate, phenyl ethyl dimethyl carbinol, phenyl ethyl dimethyl carbinyl acetate, isoamyl salicylate, benzophenone, cyclamen aldehyde, diphenyl oxide, geranyl phenyl acetate, hexyl cinnamic aldehyde, gamma-n-methyl ionone, lilial, phenyl hexanol, phenyl heptanol, phenyl ethyl alcohol, alpha-terpineol or Perfume E which consists of alpha-Ionone, gamma-Ionone, koavone, methyl dihydrojasmonate, phenyl ethyl iso-butyrate, tonalid, ambrettolide, ambrox, exaltolide, galaxolide, hexadecanolide, gamma-n-methyl ionone, iso e super, musk indanone, musk tibetine, patchouli alcohol, vetiveryl acetate, cetalox, and coumarin; (B) from about 0.01% to about 95% by weight of a surfactant.

2. The composition of claim 1 wherein the enduring perfume composition is at a level of from about 0.0005% to about 5% by weight of the composition and contains at least six enduring perfume ingredients.

3. The composition of claim 1 wherein the level of surfactant is from about 5% to about 85%.

4. The composition of claim 3 wherein the enduring perfume composition is at a level of from about 0.005% to about 5% by weight.

5. The composition of claim 4 wherein the enduring perfume composition is at a level of from about 0.01% to about 3% by weight.

6. The composition of claim 1 wherein the level of surfactant is from about 3% to about 30%.

7. The composition of claim 6 wherein the level of surfactant is from about 5% to about 22%.

8. The composition of claim 6 wherein the enduring perfume composition is at a level of from about 0.005% to about 5% by weight.

9. The composition of claim 8 wherein the enduring perfume composition is at a level of from about 0.01% to about 3% by weight.

10. The composition of claim 1 in the form of a liquid and comprising a carrier selected from the group consisting of water, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 monohydric alcohols, C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 polyhydric alcohols, liquid polyalkylene glycols, and mixtures thereof.

11. The composition of claim 1 wherein said surfactant comprises an anionic detergent surfactant.

12. The composition of claim 11 wherein said surfactant comprises at least about 50% anionic detergent surfactant.

13. The composition of claim 1 wherein said surfactant comprises: a mixture of anionic and nonionic detergent surfactants.

14. The composition of claim 13 the level of detergent surfactant is from about 1% to about 30%.

15. The composition of claim 14 wherein the level of said detergent surfactant is from about 12% to about 25% and said composition contains from about 0.05% to about 20% of surfactant that builds suds other than said detergent surfactant.

16. The detergent composition of claim 1 further comprising at least about 1% by weight of a detergency builder.

17. The detergent composition of claim 1 further comprising adjunct ingredients selected from the group consisting of bleaches, bleach activators, suds suppressors, enzyme stabilizers, polymeric dispersing agents, dye transfer inhibitors, soil release agents and mixtures thereof.

18. The detergent composition of claim 1 wherein said detergent composition is in the form of agglomerates and the density of said detergent composition is at least about 650 g/l.

19. A detergent composition according to claim 1 wherein said detergent composition is in the form of a laundry bar.

20. A detergent composition according to claim 1 wherein said detergent composition is in the form of a liquid.

21. A method of laundering fabrics comprising the step of contacting said fabrics with an aqueous medium containing an effective amount to provide long lasting odor of a detergent composition according to claim 1.
