Abstract: An extremely compact, white flowered, floriferous miniature rose plant which has good shelf life. The new variety is suitable for year round production in glasshouses for commercial pot rose production. The new variety succcessfully propagates from cuttings as well as with traditional budding. The variety has shown to be uniform and stable in the resulting generations from such asexual propagation.

The fruit is yellow fleshed, semi-freestone, firm, medium to large sized, aromatic and flavorful. The surface of the fruit is attractive red with a rich golden background.

Abstract: An apparatus for controlling operation of a railcar discharge gate assembly including a frame defining a discharge opening with a gate slidably arranged on the frame for movement along a predetermined path of travel between open and closed positions. The apparatus of the present invention includes an operating shaft rotatably supported on the frame for selectively moving the gate between open and closed positions in response to rotation of the shaft. A lock assembly is carried on the frame and is operably coupled to the operating shaft. The lock assembly includes a displacable stop member which, when the gate is closed, extends into the path of travel of the gate to prevent movement of the gate relative to the frame, and which moves in timed relation relative to movement of the gate such that upon rotation of the operating shaft to move the gate to an open position the stop member is automatically removed from the path of travel of the gate prior to movement of the gate toward an open position.

The lower layer includes a splice chamber and a protector panel. The splice chamber includes openings which permit a plurality of units to be stacked. The upper layer is removably mounted to the lower layer so it can be used with existing building entrance protectors which have no interface section.

Abstract: In microelectronic processing, the method of producing complex, two-dimensional patterns on a photosensitive layer with dimensions in the extreme submicron range. A photosensitive layer is first exposed to two beams of coherent radiation to form an image of a first interference pattern on the surface of the layer. The layer is subsequently exposed to one or more interference pattern(s) that differ from the first interference pattern in some way, such as by varying the incident angle of the beams, the optical intensity, the periodicity, rotational orientation, translational position, by using complex amplitude or phase masks in one or both of the coherent beams, or a combination of the above. Desired regions of the complex pattern thus produced are isolated with a further exposure of the photosensitive layer using any conventional lithography.

Abstract: The present invention provides a protective material comprising a base layer comprising cut resistant yarn, an intermediate layer comprising natural fiber and an outer layer comprising a flexible, elastomeric material impervious to liquid. The intermediate layer is bonded to the elastomeric material, while the cut resistant yarn in the base layer remains substantially free of encapsulation by the elastomeric material. The intermediate layer is joined to said base layer at one or more locations, preferably by selective strike through of limited amounts of the elastomeric material to encapsulate yarn in the base layer.

Abstract: The present invention provides a bib having a generally planar neck opening which is longitudinally symmetric and laterally asymmetric. The generally planar neck opening can be teardrop shaped. In one embodiment the neck opening is formed by shoulder extensions extending from a bib body. The shoulder extensions can be overlapped, and a mechanical fastener associated with the distal ends of the shoulder extensions provides releasable fastening of the overlapping shoulder extensions.

Abstract: A piece of clothing includes an upper envelope portion, two leg portions extending downward from the envelope portion and separated from each other at a crotch, and a flap portion. The flap portion is formed by two elongate cuts each of which extends from the envelope portion into a respective one of the leg portions. The flap portion is engageable with the envelope portion via an engaging device but disengageable therefrom for hinging around the crotch to open the crotch.

Abstract: The gripping football shirt is comprised of lycra, cotton, nylon, polypropylene or spandex blends with neoprene strips mounted on the inside of the anatomical arms. Then neoprene strips give a player a non-slip grip upon the football during retrieving and possession. The shirt also allows for increased protection against skin abrasions while playing on natural and artificial surfaces.

Abstract: A multi-layer glove or mitten incorporating an inner liner, intermediate waterproof, windproof and/or breathable membrane layer and an outer shell in which the inner liner and membrane layer are secured to each other by use of an adhesive system which provides a secure fit between the layers and inhibits the reversibility of layers when the hand is removed from the glove, as well as inhibiting the movement of the crotch regions of the membrane layer from moving away from the crotch regions of the inner liner during use. The multi-layered glove is also assembled more efficiently with improved construction techniques relating to the use of the adhesive tapes secured to the outside of the inner liner layer.

Abstract: A protective glove for use in fighting wildland fires has a relatively thin portion which protects the palm surface of the hand and a thick, padded, fire- and thermally-protective upper portion which protects the vulnerable skin on the back of the hand. The top portion includes joints which allow the fingers to be flexed. The configuration provides the firefighter with the dexterity required to fight a wildland fire and the level of protection necessary to avoid serious injury to the backs of the hands.

Abstract: A hat having elongated support members extending from the exterior of the crown of the hat, for supporting the hat upon the head of the wearer, to prevent the hat from causing any undue adverse affect to the wearer's hair style. An alternative embodiment of the hat further includes a casing having a framing that is either attached to the crown or a brim, which framing may be twisted to collapse the hat into a small compact size and shape.

Abstract: A multi-functional cold weather hat has a tubular fabric body with an open bottom for passage over a person's head. A drawstring channel is formed along the upper edge of the tubular body, and the hat has means for retaining the drawstring at any set position. A domal shaped head covering is sewn into the top of the tubular body. An arcuate face opening is formed in the front of the head covering for exposure of the face therethrough, passage of the head therethrough, or ventilation of the head. The hat is adaptable to be worn in at least six configurations for controllably insulating portions of the head and/or neck.

Abstract: A face shield having a face portion made of a rigid transparent material and having a concave shape so as to conform to the shape of a face. A handle portion is integrally formed with the face portion and extends downward from the bottom of the face portion. The handle portion is hollow and has an open bottom end. A handle grip covers the handle portion and also has an open bottom end. A bottom plug is fit securely in the open bottom end of the handle grip. The bottom plug has an opening to allow air to pass through the handle portion and into the area of the face portion. A hook is provided on the bottom plug to allow the shield to be hung on a wall or other surface when not in use. The shield is used while applying sprayable hair products and keeps these products from contacting the face of the user.

The head covering is mainly designed for skiing where frequent falls or spills occur. The head covering is so designed that to a casual observer the head covering makes a fashionable appearance. The head covering is constructed from a unitary piece of material which initially lies flat. The flat piece of material has first and second edges and third and fourth edges and two side edges. The first and the second edges are forming substantially semi-circles and when sewn together, they form a hollow head contacting portion. The third and fourth edges have contours which are different from the first and second edges and they form a hollow crown portion when sewn together. Thereafter, the head portion is inverted into the crown portion.

The urinal includes a frame structure including a removable flush tank and a flow control device for regulating the flow of water from said tank to flush the urinal after it has been used. The flow control device is regulated by a handle. Abstract: A wall mounted waste receptacle including a housing having an enlarged opening extending into a hollow interior thereof mounted to a wall area at least four feet above a ground area. The hollow interior has an upper opening and a lower opening. The lower opening has a threaded pipe extending downwardly therefrom. A free end of the threaded pipe extends within an existing drain pipe. A water dispenser is coupled with the upper opening of the housing and with a water supply. The enlarged opening is dimensioned for a user's face to be placed therein for vomiting. The water dispenser will wash away the vomit.

Abstract: A suction relief apparatus for relieving suction at a suction connection of a swimming pool or spa having a main valve member movable from an open to a closed position to relieve suction at the suction connection in the event of a blockage of the suction connection in the pool. The main valve remains closed until a reset valve is opened, at which time a spring returns the main valve to the open condition, enabling suction to resume at the suction connection of the pool. A switch responsive to increased suction indicative of an obstruction may be utilized to deactivate a suction pump motor. In an alternative embodiment, a frangible member may replace the main valve and reset valves to open a connection to ambient air atmosphere in the event of increased suction in the suction line resulting from an obstruction at the suction connection in the pool.

Abstract: A hydromassage device for use in a bathtub includes a battery casing to hold electrical batteries, preferably chargeable batteries, which are connected to a drive motor for a pump, where a pump casing, a motor casing and a battery casing are connected to one another and at least one of the casings is equipped with a holding arrangement for attaching the device to the wall of the tub. The battery casing and the motor casing are separate, detachably connected waterproof casings, the battery casing and the motor casing having on their outer walls contact members forming contacts with each other when in the operating state the two casings are connected to each other, in each casing forming contact pairs, to which the batteries or the drive motor are connected. In the operating state, at least one sealing arrangement gives the region of the contact pairs a waterproof seal.

Abstract: A transfer seat apparatus structured for simultaneous dependent slidable translation during manual rotation, through preferably about 90.degree. of rotation, of a seat section of the apparatus with a person seated atop the seat section. The apparatus is particularly useful for transferring a physically impaired or weakened person into a bathtub or over a collecting basin when adapted and used as a commode. Thus, as the seat section is rotated with the person seated thereon, lateral linear translation is simultaneously effected which is dependently responsive to manual seat section rotation.

Abstract: A shower screen includes two posts each having a bracket secured on top for securing a rod in which a rail is secured. The rod includes a groove formed in bottom and the rail includes a duct aligned with the groove of the rod. A number of foldable panels include a number of slides slidably engaged in the groove and the duct for allowing the panels to be folded and unfolded. Two beams are secured to the sides of the panels and each has a rib for engaging with the channel of the post and for preventing spilling. Two sleeves are engaged on the ends of the rod for engaging with the brackets when the rod is short.

Abstract: An extensible faucet structure for a kitchen cabinet including a faucet body, a spout, a combination seat, an inner gasket seat, a panel, a locking nut, a pad member, two bolts and two locking trays. The faucet body includes a control handle disposed at an upper end thereof and a circular insertion mouth laterally extending from one side thereof. An insertion section is disposed at one end of the spout to which an extensible guide tube is connected. The combination seat is formed with an internal combination chamber. A bottom of the combination seat is disposed with a locating block formed with three thread holes on a bottom face thereof for communicating with the combination chamber. The three thread holes are respectively connected with a cold water incoming hose, a hot water incoming hose and an outgoing hose with different lengths. A thread socket is disposed on a plane cut face of the locating block. A projecting block with a stepped hole is disposed at an upper end of an inner edge of the gasket seat.

Abstract: The invention relates to an improved remotely operated plug assembly (13) of the type with a pop-up plug (13) and cabling (14), wherein the inter-engaging means and the means for retaining the plug (13) in the sink waste unit (11) and in the closed position are circumferential. This allows the free movement of fluid from the plug (13) to the sink waste unit (11). The improvement relates to the use of common elements for both the inter-engaging means and the retaining means so that the one movable pin (34) acts in both the inter-engagement of the plug (13) and the sink waste unit (11), and the retention of the plug (13) within the sink waste unit (11) and in the closed position.

Abstract: A motion compensated apparatus that can be used as a sleeping platform, stabilizer. The discomfort and danger of a moving surface associated with a ship at sea is well known. The motion of such a surface causes considerable distress in humans and animals. Servos can expand and contract to position the upper portion of the assembly at various angles with respect to the lower portion and to cancel accelerations caused by pitching and rolling. The servos can be controlled by a control system that is driven by a set of motion sensors or a gyro. The sensors or gyro sense the instantaneous position of the deck with respect to an absolute level virtual reference plane. The control system continuously adjusts the apparatus to remain parallel to the absolute level plane. The system contains a quick enough response to track the fast motion encountered on a ship to yield a smooth and comfortable ride according to control system principles.

Abstract: A medical diagnostic and/or therapy apparatus in the form of an X-ray apparatus, including a stand (2), a C-arm (4) and a patient table top (8) which is attached to the stand by way of a supporting arm (6). In order to enable the patient table top to be cleared very quickly from the C-arm (i.e. make it accessible from all sides), notably in trauma situations, the supporting arm of the patient table is rotatable about a vertical axis (22) with respect to the stand. The pivot (25) of the supporting arm is situated at the location of attachment of the supporting arm to the stand, so that when it is swung away, the table requires substantially less space in its longitudinal direction than in the prior art. Moreover, room then remains for an additional treatment apparatus in the treatment space, for example for a tomography arc (26) which can then be positioned around the swung away table top within a few seconds in the case of emergency.

Abstract: A mattress system for use in cribs or beds for small infants or adolescent children is constructed of a base and a sleeping recess defined by side walls, a head wall, a foot wall, and a floor. The mattress is constructed of a foam material which is air permeable. The mattress including the side, head, foot walls and floor of the recess, are enclosed in a removable cover. The floor of the recess is covered by a detachable vinyl panel formed as part of the cover and having hook or loop type strips. A second floor cover in the form of a detachable sheet, having mating hook or loop style patches which engage their opposite counterpart on the vinyl panel. An accessory panel is constructed having the dimensions of the recess to fill the recess and convert the specialty mattress into a conventional mattress.

Abstract: A method of replenishing liquid carbon dioxide solvent in a liquid carbon dioxide dry cleaning system or other dense phase carbon dioxide cleaning system. The method uses dry-ice or solid carbon dioxide, as a replenishing stock, thus reducing transportation, storage and handling costs. The method disposes solid carbon dioxide blocks in a cleaning chamber after a cleaning cycle. Liquid carbon dioxide solvent is boiled and is used to melt the solid carbon dioxide blocks. Liquid carbon dioxide solvent produced by melting the solid carbon dioxide blocks is pumped from the cleaning chamber into a storage tank to replenish the liquid carbon dioxide solvent.

Abstract: A water level detection system and method for automatically controlling in real time the water height in a washing machine to assure the optimum operating level. An ultrasonic transceiver generates a plurality of ultrasonic pulses and detects the corresponding echoes. A microprocessor stores a plurality of ranging signals representing the time period between the ultrasonic pulse and the detection of the corresponding echo. A set of the ranging signals forms a mathematical or graphic signature which changes as the water level rises up through the clothes in the washing machine. The microprocessor detects when a predetermined characteristics occurs in this signature and sends a signal to the standard washing machine controls to stop the flow of water.

Abstract: The invention is an apparatus for cleaning a computer mouseball. The mouseball washer has a container which houses a bristle assembly and a solvent. A plunger holds the mouseball and is adapted to fit within the interior of the container. The plunger is manipulated into the container where the mouseball comes in contact with the bristle assembly and solvent. This provides a simple and efficient method of removing any foreign substance accumulated on the mouseball.

Abstract: An electric toothbrush is disclosed which includes an elongate body defining a handle, an elongate housing extending from the body and supporting a brush head at a distal end thereof, a drive shaft rotatably mounted within the housing and connected to the brush head, a motor disposed within the body and including a rotating output shaft, and a transmission assembly adapted to convert the rotational movement of the output shaft into reciprocating rotation of the drive shaft and brush head about a common axis of rotation.

Abstract: A compact disc cleaning device including a seat, a cover pivotally connected to one edge of the seat, and a rotatable wheel. The seat has a circular recess portion with teeth provided along an inner peripheral wall thereof. The rotatable wheel includes a hand cap and a wheel body connected to a lower axis portion of the hand cap. The wheel body has a cleaning element attached to a bottom side thereof and has teeth formed along an outer peripheral wall thereof to mesh with the teeth on the peripheral wall of the circular recess portion of the seat, such that the rotatable wheel can move in rotation along the toothed inner peripheral wall of the circular recess portion in the seat, allowing the cleaning element at the bottom side of the wheel body to wipe clean a compact disc positioned in the circular recess portion. The circular recess portion is further formed of a central recess, an inner annular recess, an intermediate partition ring, and an outer annular recess.

Abstract: A replaceable coating applicating pad having, as the paint applicating medium, a velour fabric with a short nap is disclosed. In one embodiment, the pad includes a winged handle and a conforming pad which is suitable for large surfaces; in a second embodiment the pad is small with sharp corners for work in confined spaces; and in a third embodiment the pad is mounted on a sponge rubber-like handle for use on curved and other non-planar surfaces. A method of coating application is also disclosed.

Abstract: A detachably-mountable washing device is disclosed. The washing device generally comprises a cloth support section and a mounting section attached to the cloth support section. The support section is preferably a foam pad having an attachment surface and a curved, cloth support surface. The mounting section includes a mounting surface and an attachment surface. The mounting surface comprises a plurality of suction cups and gripper ribs for retaining a wash cloth. The attachment surface is connected to the attachment surface of the pad, preferably by a hot-melt adhesive, to assemble the washing device. The assembled washing device is secured to a wall or other surface by the suction cups. A wash cloth is then placed on the support surface of the support pad and secured by pressing its edges between the gripper ribs and the surface to which the washing device is mounted.

Abstract: A window ice scraper (10) comprising a one-piece flat plate (12) having a scraping edge (14). A facility (16) in the one-piece flat plate (12), is for securely grasping by a hand (18) of a person (20). It will reduce strain on the wrist (22) of the person (20), while the scraping edge (14) on the one-piece flat plate (12) can effectively remove ice (24) from a flat surface (26), such as a window in an automobile.
