Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring and controlling the temperature of a semiconductor device is described. The temperature of a semiconductor device is controlled by measuring the temperature at the semiconductor device and adjusting the temperature by supplying a coolant to the semiconductor device over a coolant line. The amount of coolant which flows to the semiconductor device is controlled by a solenoid switch connected to a valve in the coolant line. A system for measuring and controlling the temperatures of multiple semiconductor devices is also described.

Abstract: An improved portable fire hydrant that can operate a water main valve disposed within a water main to produce water for fighting a fire by rotating a valve stem coupled to the water main valve includes an extension through which water can flow when the fire hydrant is coupled to the water main. The portable fire hydrant may also include a sealing mechanism disposed on the extension that seals the portable fire hydrant to the water main. A valve operator may also be coupled to the portable fire hydrant and attached to a valve rod that extends down through the extension of the portable fire hydrant. Disposed on the end of the valve rod may be a coupling mechanism for coupling the valve operator to the water main valve. Abstract: A tracked vehicle produces a pressure no more than 3 psi on the ground by increasing the number of contact points on the inner surface of the track. The stiffness of the track is also selected to minimize bowing between the idler wheels or rollers. The track is therefore kept substantially straight between the rollers so increase the efficiency associated with transferring power to track. The drive sprocket is positioned above the ground so as to eliminate complexity in the design and yet effectively transmit power to the tracks. Positioning the drive sprocket above ground also prevents derailing of the track. The track is also held in a constant state of tension on the driver sprocket and the roller. This too prevents derailment. The undercarriage of the vehicle includes torsion axles and sealed bearings to provide for a lower maintenance track. Components associated with the undercarriage do not require constant greasing and cleaning of the idler wheels.

Abstract: A laundry basket device is disclosed. Specifically, the present invention is a combination laundry basket and laundry bag. The device consists of a standard basket that allows a bag portion to attach thereto, preferably by snap-on rim member. The bag, attached to either the inner or outer rim of the basket, extends vertically from the basket and includes drawstrings that function to securely close the bag, completely covering the contents of the basket. Thus, the device is easy to lift, allows the user to fit more articles of clothing into the basket than is provided in the prior art, and even allows for effective cleaning of the removable bag portion. Finally, the device may include both removably attachable wheels, functioning to further facilitate transport of the entire device, as well as compartments for the storing and transportation of cleaning related items.

The vacuum source creates a negative pressure in the tank and vacuum pipe so that liquid entering the pipe is pulled into the tank. The tank is made of a thermoplastic material having a flexural modulus sufficient to withstand an external pressure loading caused by the vacuum in the tank without buckling.

Abstract: A liquid product carrying plastic film pouch having a straw which is free-floating in the liquid product, is described. The liquid product contained within the inner chamber of the pouch occupies from about 60% to about 90% of the volume of the inner chamber sufficient to permit the side walls of the pouch to be collapsed against one another when the pouch is grasped by the hand of a user person whereby to orient the straw at a desired location. The pouch is made of a multilayer resin film having an inner sealant layer formed of a linear low density ethylene-octene copolymer or very low density ethylene copolymer (octene or other copolymers) such that when the straw punctures the film, the inner sealant layer forms a membrane about the straw which exhibits a self-sealing behavior so as to prevent leakage in the punctured region as liquid is extracted from the pouch through the straw.

Abstract: A pneumatic fastener inserter and hopper for the same is disclosed for use in inserting fasteners into material being secured. The hopper comprises a rotatable drum which tumbles the fasteners therein into position so that the shanks thereof protrude outwardly between spaced-apart bars. The fasteners are discharged from a discharge opening formed in the hopper and are delivered to a magazine which is in communication with an entrapment apparatus which feeds the fasteners to a feed tube under pressure. The air pressure in the feed tube delivers the individual fasteners to the inserter with the fastener being positioned between pivotally movable head fingers which open to receive the fastener to position the same for subsequent insertion and which pivot to enable the fastener to be driven outwardly therefrom by a piston rod so that the fastener is driven into and through the material being secured.
