Abstract: A hinge for mounting a door on a furniture article frame includes a first hinge member adapted to be affixed to the furniture door and a first hinge arm segment pivoted to the first hinge member and having a first adjustment plate with an aperture and a second hinge member having a second hinge arm segment having a second adjustment plate with an aperture. Turning an adjustment screw connecting the adjustment plates to one another causes the second hinge arm segment to move relative to the first hinge arm segment in a direction perpendicular to the pivot axis and parallel to the door in a closed position thereof. A base plate adapted to be affixed to the furniture article frame by a fastening screw supports a movable plate formed on the second hinge member. Turning an eccentric mounted in the base plate causes the movable plate to be displaced on the base plate in a direction perpendicular to the pivot axis and perpendicular to the door in a closed position thereof.

Abstract: The wheelbarrow handle adapter has an adapter handle with a proximal end and a distal end with an approximate right angle bend therebetween. The adapter handle at the proximal end is attachable to a wheelbarrow handle. In one configuration a sleeve is inserted onto the end of the wheelbarrow handle and a handle bolt is inserted through the adapter handle intermediate the distal end and the proximal end to threadably engage the sleeve. In an alternate configuration the adapter handle having a tubular opening at the distal end is curved sufficiently at the distal end to insert the tubular opening onto the end of the wheelbarrow handle.

Abstract: A tension ring, particularly for connecting two tube ends, includes several mutually linked segments. A closing device detachably connects two segments with one another. The position of the segments relative to one another is adjustable at least on one hinge element between two segments. As a result of the closing device preferably constructed as a quick-acting closure, a prefixing/pretensioning can be achieved and, subsequently, the tension of the tension ring can be regulated to the desired extent by an adjusting device without opening the closing device again.

Abstract: A band clamp for pipe joints is disclosed comprising a band with confronting sidewalls when wrapped around pipes to be coupled. The clamping mechanism includes a pair of force bars outboard of the sidewalls and a spline with concave surfaces on opposite sides, the spline being disposed between the end flanges. A bolt extends through bolt holes and draws the flanges against the spline to stretch the band around the pipes when the bolt is tightened against the force bars. The sidewalls have lateral flanges which overhang the spline to arrest movement of the sidewalls relative to the spline to obtain alignment of the bolt holes when the clamp is tightened. In some embodiments, the band is folded back on itself to form a double thickness which extends from the upper end of each sidewall to a point beyond the lower end of the sidewall and provides an inverted flap sandwiched between the clamp band and the pipe. The inverted flap may be secured to the band by mechanical interlock between the layers.

The convex row has a terminal end where slider guide portions for guiding a slider are removed. A convex-row-meshing portion of the convex row is inserted through a side of the slider so as to be engaged with a concave-row-meshing portion of the concave row. An engaging device including a female fastening member and a male fastening member is attached to terminal ends of the concave row and the convex row. In operation, the female fastening member of the engaging device on a side of the convex row is engaged with the male fastening member of the engaging device on the side of the concave row.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for the descaling of metal surfaces without the use of caustic substances is provided. The apparatus includes a first and second blast heads containing fan shaped nozzles that spray high velocity jets of smooth edged, ceramic media at a scale covered continuous sheet of steel. The continuous sheet of steel is advanced into an abrading station containing a pair of brush assemblies that include stainless steel bristled brushes. The stainless steel brushes engage the surface of the sheet of steel and abrade away the cracked scale, leaving a surface clean of scale. The surface produced is pH neutral and therefore resists additional corrosion and does not require oil coatings, or other protective treatments. The metal surface is produced with a roughness that is less than 2.5 microns Ra without stretching, polishing, cold-rolling or the use of acid pickling. Eliminating these steps makes for a faster, more robust process and saves considerable cost.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for loading deposit material, such as an embolic coil, into a shape memory polymer (SMP) gripping/release mechanism. The apparatus enables the application of uniform pressure to secure a grip by the SMP mechanism on the deposit material via differential pressure between, for example, vacuum within the SMP mechanism and hydrostatic water pressure on the exterior of the SMP mechanism. The SMP tubing material of the mechanism is heated to above the glass transformation temperature (Tg) while reshaping, and subsequently cooled to below Tg to freeze the shape. The heating and/or cooling may, for example, be provided by the same water applied for pressurization or the heating can be applied by optical fibers packaged to the SMP mechanism for directing a laser beam, for example, thereunto. At a point of use, the deposit material is released from the SMP mechanism by reheating the SMP material to above the temperature Tg whereby it returns to its initial shape.
