Abstract: A printing apparatus is provided for precisely applying identifying indicia to wires connected with connectors without causing any displacement of position and orientation. The printing apparatus is provided with a palette 1 which is moved while being guided by slide rails 6, a wire receiving portion 2 on which wires 21 drawn from a connector 20 are placed, a wire correcting device 3, and a holder 4. The wire 21 fed to a marking section is pressed from above and is straightened in its longitudinal direction by the correcting device 3. The holder 4 holds the straightened wire 21 in the center of the marking section. In this state, printing is applied to the wire 21 by a laser marker 5.

Abstract: A print medium feed device and a stencil printing machine employing the same are disclosed wherein a print medium as a print sheet, transferred with a pair of secondary paper feed rollers, is transferred through a pair of transfer guide members to a press drum by which transfer of the print medium is succeeded. An upper transfer guide member, with which the print medium is brought into sliding contact, is periodically shifted between a guide position to allow the print medium to be guided to the press drum, and an inoperative non-guide position in which the upper transfer guide member is separated from the other transfer guide member. A shaft of one secondary paper feed roller is exerted with a rotational braking effect by a torque limiter, whose rotational braking effect is periodically released by a clutch unit.

Abstract: There exists a wide variety of strains of fungi and bacteria that can cause allergic and sometimes fatal reactions to humans who are exposed to these strains. Many of these contaminant strains exist and grow in buildings, structures and transportation sources used by people in everyday routine situations. A device simulating one or more of the noxious contaminants is used to train dogs to detect these contaminants in varying situations. A non-intrusive method for training one or more dogs to detect contaminants in a building or other structure, using the device, is also provided. By using dogs trained by the method, trainers can then instruct these contaminant-detecting dogs to precisely and efficiently locate areas of active contamination for future remediation without damage to the site under investigation.

Abstract: A water heater includes a substantially cylindrical tank having a cold water inlet, a hot water outlet, and an exhaust flue. The cold water inlet is disposed adjacent the lower end of the tank to prevent condensation from occurring between the cold water inlet and the exhaust flue. A T connector having an inlet and first and second outlets is connected to the cold water inlet. A flush valve is connected to the second outlet of the T connector to allow the tank to be flushed. A nozzle is connected to the cold water inlet and is disposed inside the tank. The nozzle is angled to swirl the water that is being placed into the tank so that sediment is lifted into the water. The nozzle may be angled downwardly to stir up sediment from the bottom of the tank.

Abstract: A fluid cooled cylinder liner for mounting in a cylinder of an internal combustion engine is provided. The fluid cooled cylinder liner includes a collar and a seal element. The collar has an outer circumferential surface dimensioned with respect to the inner circumference of the cylinder so as to be in substantially fluid sealing contact therewith, an annular cooling fluid channel formed radially inwardly of the outer circumferential surface, and a radial bore extending radially from the fluid channel through the outer circumferential surface and having one end communicated with the fluid channel and an opposite end communicated with a branch bore of the crankcase of the engine. The seal element substantially seals the interface between the branch bore of the crankcase and the radial bore of the collar of the cylinder liner against the leakage of cooling fluid.

Abstract: An internal combustion engine is provided. The engine includes a housing (9) having at least first and second pairs of chambers (20) formed in the housing. Each chamber extends from the exterior of the housing to a predetermined point therein. The first pair of chambers being aligned with the housing along a first axis and the second pair of chambers being aligned within the housing along a second axis extending substantially normal to the first axis. The engine further including a plurality of piston assemblies (6). Each chamber having one of the piston assemblies rigidly fastened thereto. A cylinder (1) is reciprocally mounted on an elongate cylinder pin assembly (2). The cylinder pin assembly extending within the housing and disposed between the cylinders for reciprocating the cylinders along a predetermined stroke length and relative to the fixed piston assemblies in an opposed manner during operation of the engine. The cylinder pin assembly having two axes of rotation.

Abstract: A four stroke engine having at least two cylinders spaced vertically relative to each other. Each cylinder includes a cylinder body having a cylinder bore extending generally horizontally. Plurality of air intake ducts are provided for connecting a common plenum chamber and respective air intake passages which extends to respective combustion chambers. Each of the air intake ducts has a generally straight section extending generally horizontally and parallel to each other. The distance between the straight sections is less than the distance between the axes of the cylinder bores. Also, in another feature, throttle body means are interposed between duct members, which are upstream components of the air intake ducts, and the intake passages for controlling the flow of air to the combustion chambers.

Abstract: An engine capable of use with multiple different types of fuels including gasoline and alcohol based flues and heavy fuels such as diesel fuel, JP5, JP8, Jet A and kerosene based fuels. The engine includes a main cylinder having a compression chamber at one end and a piston that is movable along the length of the cylinder and which connects to a crankshaft for the engine. A fuel delivery system delivers a combustible mixture of fuel and air through a fuel delivery valve into the combustion chamber at a sonic velocity of flow such that the fuel is substantially atomized into the air of the combustible mixture delivered to the combustion chamber. The combustible mixture is ignited by an igniter within the combustion chamber to urge the piston along the cylinder for driving the crankshaft of the engine.

Abstract: A supercharged internal combustion engine is provided with a double-link type piston crank mechanism connecting between a piston and a crankshaft. The piston crank mechanism causes the piston to move at a speed which is smaller around a top dead center (TDC) and larger around a bottom dead center (BDC) as compared with respective corresponding piston speeds attained by a comparable single-link type piston crank mechanism. The double-link type piston crank mechanism variably controls a compression ratio by varying an angular position of one of links constituting the piston crank mechanism.
