Abstract: A combination eye and ear protection apparatus includes an eye protection portion which includes respective ends, an ear protection portion which includes a pair of ear-covering portions, and a pair of bridge portions connected between the respective ends of the eye protection portion and outer portions of the respective ear-covering portions. The eye protection portion includes a frame which includes frame ends, and lenses are received in the frame. The bridge portions include VELCRO bridge-to-ear-cover connectors and the ear-covering portions include complimentary VELCRO ear-cover-to-bridge connectors. With the combination eye and ear protection apparatus of the invention both ear protection and eye protection are provided for a wearer without the eye protection assembly interfering with good ear protection.

Abstract: An outer garment for children which is reversible and features animal characters on the hood and other parts of the jacket on both sides is disclosed. The present invention provides an economical alternative to children's outer wear by constructing a jacket that is reversible and features two different animal character ornamentations thus serving as two jackets. Ornamentation, while flat gives the appearance of three dimensions when worn. The inventive reversible jacket is fun and interesting for children to wear by increasing the level of curiosity and popularity of the garment, thus reducing the time it takes to dress a child by making the jacket more appealing. Also, the present invention discloses an outerwear construction that arouses interest in young children and thus makes the garment not easily misplaced.

Abstract: A novel synthetic aluminium tanning agent as an alternative for chromium based tanning salts without using formaldehyde was prepared by using aromatic polymeric matrix and aluminium (III) salts as raw materials with suitable masking agents. The preparation of the syntan consists of sulphonation of aromatic molecule, which is incorporated with a polymeric network along with ligands specially designed for the complexation of aluminium (III) salts. The complex can be used as a self-tanning agent in leather industry with fairly good filling behavior. The tanned leathers exhibit shrinkage temperature about 85° C. Due to the higher precipitation point of the product, it can be used for tanning directly after deliming thus eliminating the pickling process. This product, unlike the conventional phenol based products, does not undergo photo-oxidation thereby preventing the discoloration of the tanned leathers.
